We loved how private the home was. It was cozy, the beds were very comfortable we had all we needed for our stay. The neighborhood was quiet and nice to walk around. We will definitely stay here again.
This place is absolutely beautiful, clean, comfortable, and relaxing. We really enjoyed out having the several options for gathering together--tables in the kitchen, dining area, and deck, the sofas, and the seating area in the upstairs bedroom--that allowed for private, as well as group conversations. LOVED hearing the frogs at night and the view of the slough from the deck. Thank you!
Cabin was great and very comfortable. Plenty of seating to eat and the beds were very comfortable. Loved the view of the pond We would definitely stay there again!
Our family stayed here as part of a last minute vacation and had an excellent time. Beautiful hikes, a great kid friendly lake, and a gorgeous secluded property gave us exactly the recharge we needed. We will return!
This was our first visit to Lake Cushman. We wish we would have planned a longer trip, it is awesome up here. The location of the home is great, with access to the lake. It was very quiet and large enough for a small group.
Home is comfortable and peaceful. Jose and Jillian were pleasant and communicated well. Very responsive if a need arose as well. You need to use wifi for calling, but that is the beauty of this vacation. Staircase rapids, cushman lake, high steel bridge all within an hour of the home. Great place to stay to start your trek around the park. Backyard is a beaver pond, owners report three beavers living in it, but we didn't spot them. Lots of garter snakes, kids had a blast catching them. Plan ahead and download your alltrails maps before leaving the house. Sit on the back porch and just listen to all the night sounds. Have fun trying to identify which is which and see how many sasquatch guesses you get! We are a celiac family, they did have glass bowls and stainless steal measure cups, otherwise pack your own GF stuff. Great cabin for our family of 6.
The Beaver Barn was perfect for our family of 6! Plenty of space, lots of amenities, and excellent location- right on a beaver dam and just minutes from majestic Lake Cushman. We spent an evening at the lake and the next day hiking through the Olympic National Forest.
We experienced a minor check-in snafu, but the host was incredibly responsive and we had zero problems after that!
Please note: there is little to zero internet between Hoodsport and the cabin. Once inside the cabin, excellent internet connectivity though!
We would absolutely recommend this cabin to anyone looking to get away!
Large, roomy, clean, quiet house with beautiful pond view
Beautiful property with large well-equipped kitchen, dining room and living room that is plenty big for a family gathering. The 3 bedroom are large with comfy beds and lots of storage. The bathrooms are clean and fresh. The main deck overlooks a beaver pond and forest - it is very private. The gas grill works great. Plenty of parking. The lake is beautiful with a community park that is excellent for a picnic and swimming, and clean restrooms/changing room. (bring your pass to gain access) The two-mile hike at Staircase is relatively easy. I suggest walking the west side to the bridge then return on the west side. Jumping off Party Rock is a rush!
