Great location from close proximity and short walk to beach to restaurants and grocery stores. House was well stocked and had a great layout.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, our experience staying at this property was Fine. The property could use some updates and some new furniture but overall we were satisfied. The one problem we encountered was a picture fell of the wall while my son was sleeping in bed. the picture was hung up on a nail in the drywall and was not anchored properly.

Nice proximity to beach but needs some TLC

Pros: Close to beach access, nice size and layout on main floor, near sites (state park, museum, etc). Cons: Beds were squeaky and uncomfortable, couches are old and worn. Neighborhood is not pedestrian friendly. When we arrived our deck chairs were all broken but the rental agency (Carolina Shores) got these replaced for us early in the week, which was helpful.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall our family had a wonderful trip. The house is very close to the beach and a ton of local places to visit. If you are bringing kids make sure you bring toys, plastic tablewear, high chair, ect. The house does not have much for children. The TVs are not set up in the bedrooms when you arrive, and the kitchen definitely needs updated. We tried using the blender and it did not work, there are no containers for leftovers, and no large trays to cook things in the oven. The hot tub, pool table, and crows nest were great. Be prepared for climbing a lot of stairs everyday!

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our time here but overall, the experience was not the best. The house has been neglected and in disrepair. The top floor bedroom has a board broken in the box spring which felt like torture to sleep on. The kitchen has low supply to no supply of items needed. I had to drive to the dollar store the first night just to get basic things like a dish towel or drying towel (and we did pay for linens which were NOT cheap). I’m not sure who is responsible, but normally we get a complimentary trial size of dish soap or toilet paper in most places which would have been nice. I would not stay here again. The price was way too high and the place felt neglected and very much not worth it. And it seemed like a good price but the rental company added the fees on which made it way too high. I don’t like to give negative reviews but I would have liked to have known this prior to renting.

There are two public beach accesses also within walking distance. The first one had a sign stating do not swim in the area because of waste. The second spot has parking spots.

Nothing special and just enough amenities and rooms to accommodate a week long stay. The house is in good shape, but a little outdated. Proximity to the beach is great! Hot tub is nice and there is plenty of backyard space. The views from the 3rd floor deck are also fantastic. You can't quite see the whole beach, but sunrise and sunset are quite nice.

Needs a lot of work.

Property needs a lot of maintenance. Decking is weathered, splintering with dangerous exposed nails. Blinds need repair throughout the house. Furniture is worn and dated. One TV did not work at all and there were not enough controls for all of the TVs. Outdoor shower side boards are cracked or broken and hard ware was rusted. Hose was badly twisted and did not have a nozzle. Hot Tub was in the sun for most of the day making it difficult to use. I have rented much better properties for much less money.

Amazing getaway

This was a family trip, first time to te ocean for 4 of our kids. We came in after hours after a very long drive and easily checked in. House was great, no complaints. Fantastic location. Favorite amenities were the hot tub and the balcony for watching the sunrise.

Pleasant Stay.

They property was close to all of our favorites and we had a great time as always. It was cleaned ok, but there wasn't even a broom to sweep up crumbs so we bought one. The refrigerator did not cool very well and smelled of old seafood. We thoroughly cleaned the refrigerator and freezer and replaced the baking soda in both to try and help the smell. It was better afterwards. The table and floors upstairs were sticky and we tried to wipe them down but they didn't seem to come clean. A good thorough cleaning would go a long way in this house.

Poor check in service, very dirty!

The rental company employees acted as though they didn’t know what property we rented. We did show up at 10:00 as we are unfamiliar with the area checked in for details to have them tell us you can’t pick up your keys before 4:00 but you must come by 4:00 to pick them up. We called prior to picking up the keys at 3:00 and they said our keys would be available at 4. At 4 we entered to have them tell us it wasn’t ready, they were still cleaning. The guarantee is that you get your house by 4. There were no apologies given but snide remarks that we could wait in the lobby for it to be ready. Instead of sitting in the lobby with a mask on I chose to sit in our car with family. Apparently they don’t have your contact information on hand so I gave them my #. 4:45 I walked back into the office where the original rude employee said someone would be with me in a minute where she then disappeared into the back. The next employee came forward and again looked as though she couldn’t figure out what we rented! Then she said oh it’s right here! I tried calling you but the phone number was wrong. I picked up the piece of paper where the phone number was written as it had been flipped over and I showed her what my phone number was to which I received no apology once again. We entered the home which we waited until 4:45 to be able to check into because they were still “cleaning it”. The house was nothing short of appalling. The carpets had days worth of dirt and hair on them. We tried to vacuum them but the vacuum cleaner was broken. The top threshold of the stairs was sitting in the corner of the hallway which posed a huge fall risk. There was remnants of vomit on the bathtub and two of the walls on the second-floor bathroom. All of the floors were disgusting. I had to go buy bleach to clean all of the bathrooms and mop all of the floors the water was black! Broken furniture. There were dead bugs on side tables, there was food dried onto all of the appliances in the kitchen. Let’s not speak of the smell of the refrigerator for which we cleaned and placed baking soda in to try and curb to no avail! I took pictures of everything stated! You do bring your own bedding which was an absolute life saver as the pillows and blankets were repulsive. I don’t mean old but just nasty needing to be replaced as well as the disgusting cloth that was considered bath mats. After we spent time and money cleaning this home it did it’s job. Location was fantastic.

We enjoyed our stay for the most part.

Our family of 7 adults and 2 small children fit comfortably in the house. The layout was nice and we had plenty of room. Location was nice and short walk to beach. The home could use a deep cleaning, there was piled dust in every room on the blinds and doorways and the home looked like it had been minimally cleaned when we got there. There were crumbs on the table and glass water marks on the counter and table. The furniture was damp and it smelled like someone sprayed a ton of air freshener in the home before we got there. We had to open windows to air it out and clean up before we could settle. The home is nice just needs a deep cleaning and a little updating. Beds were not real comfortable and it says queen but they seemed small. The property was supposed to have access to the YMCA for the week and it was not active and we couldn’t use it, we were looking forward to being able to so that was disappointing. Location is great as we could go either direction and find something to do on yuck days. The grill and outside shower were great and we did enjoy the top balcony a lot. Overall this was a decent place, for the money we spent I think it was a bit overpriced considering the home needs a good scrubbing, I spent a lot of time telling myself I wasn’t there to clean and to let it go because I wanted to deep clean it so bad. We had no other issues and would consider returning if the place was cleaned and updated a bit.

Located on a quiet street just off Rt 158 and a short walk to the quiet Public Beach Access. The house was great for our situation of 3 families with 2 children. Pool table, hot tub, front decks (facing south so lots of sun) are the highlights. The BBQ grill was nice too. Very clean and "semi-modern". Also the house is short walking distance to a few gem restaurants - Miller's Seafood and The Kill Devil Grill. We've stayed in OBX several times and highly recommend Miss Abbi!

I love the new floors the owner put on the ground level along with the fresh tab-drapes on the second floor.
