Grande maison pour les invités de mariage! Courte promenade à la plage. Récemment rénové avec une nouvelle cuisine incroyable! À l’origine, le "Kneas Family Cottage" est un cottage au toit plat de deux chambres à coucher qui a évolué pour devenir le lieu de vacances idéal pour les familles à la plage avec cinq chambres à coucher, trois salles de bain complètes, une demi-salle de bain et une douche extérieure. Avec une belle terrasse surplombant un grand terrain en herbe, il est à distance de marche (1800 pieds) de la plage, du bruit et des magasins, ce qui en fait la maison de location idéale et abordable.

Le salon du premier étage et la cuisine récemment rénovée forment un grand espace ouvert en forme de "L" avec de nombreux sièges pour les repas, la télévision, une zone de lecture et des jeux. Deux chambres et une salle de bains et demi sont situés au premier étage. Une de ces chambres est idéale pour les enfants car elle accueille 3 grands lits et deux lits simples. Il y a aussi une douche extérieure à utiliser lorsque vous revenez de la plage. Au deuxième étage, le salon confortable avec télévision s'ouvre sur le solarium. Deux des chambres sont hors du deuxième salon avec une salle de bain complète. La troisième chambre et salle de bain (maître) est séparée du salon pour plus d'intimité. Idéal pour deux familles à partager la maison et avoir des espaces privés pour se détendre.

Close to The Beach and Bike Riding

It was a great place to stay, close to everything like the beach, bike riding, movie theater, and stores. The house was big enough for our entire family. There's plenty of sleeping areas and even extra mattresses for a large family like mine. This house was perfect for a large family. I would highly recommend staying there again.

Perfect location with everything you need.

We came in as a party of twelve and left with no complaints at all. The house is a ten-minute walk from both the beach and Target, and a short drive to plenty of other activities. It has plenty of rooms with great air ventilation, wifi and utilities, and a great shower/bathroom count that never inconvenienced us. Would absolutely recommend for summer trips.

This rental was amazing! No issues at all. Very clean and kept up nicely. A lot of space for a lot of people. Close enough to a lot of stores and beach access. The personal touches throughout the home gave a sense of closeness of family and it was great to learn more about them. We will definitely stay in the future and will recommend to others. Thank you for helping us to celebrate our anniversary in a nonstressful environment.

This is a very nice place. Close to the beach and many stores. Not far from attractions like Wright Brothers and state parks. Adults and kids were all happy. We all had plenty of room for downtime at the house and more than enough room for sleeping. It was a big hit for our family.

Family vacay

While my family and I enjoyed the property, we did not find it to be as described online. It indicated that there is a hot tub and there is not a hot tub on this property. It also mentioned a fenced in back yard and while there are fences, they are the neighbors fences and it is not enclosed. The floors were very sandy when we arrived and the ice machine needed to be cleaned. This property was very convenient to so many great places and regardless of the incorrect description, I would stay here again.

The property was more than adequate for out needs. The ADA bath was appreciated. There was space for the family to come together as well as space to separate for alone time. We enjoyed our stay.

Nice, basic house in Kill Devil Hills

This house was nice and clean and within walking distance of the beach if you don't mind crossing the busy street. It had all of the basics. You do need to bring your own sheets and towels which we were all able to do. One problem we had was that it states that there are blankets for all the beds, but we used the two rollaway beds and the trundle mattress and there was only one extra blanket in the whole house to be shared between the three extra beds. I called the hostess and she recommended using the throw on the chair in the living room as the second blanket. My son happened to bring a small blanket for the car and we used that for the third blanket for that last bed. People who are planning on using those beds should know so that they are prepared. Also, there is quite an extensive check-out list but the check-out time is on the earlier end (10 AM). It makes it hard to get everything she wants done. For example, many other places we've stayed ask that you start the dishwasher before you leave. This house asks that you wash it and then unload it as well. Kind of hard to get both of those in with a 10 AM check-out. Laundering of dishcloths and hot pads is similar. An extra hour before check-out would be helpful or a more realistic checkout list. Despite those few things, we had a lovely vacation and appreciated the Kneas Cottage. The hostess answered quickly to all of our questions. Thank you for sharing your space with us!

Family Reunion

The house was perfect for our stay. We had adults and one almost teen and everyone had plenty of space! Super close walking distance to the beach, Target and Wawa. And just a short drive to anything else. We would love to hold our family reunion here again next year! Thank you for a great place to get together!!

Great time at this property in Kill Devil Hills. The host was available and helpful whenever needed. Vrbo didn’t contact us till the day before we were to access the property. We became a bit nervous about entrance to the property but the host allayed our fears and all was well. Spacious, clean and very comfortable! Thank you Kneas family!

Great house for a large family

Our family of 15 loved staying here for our week-long summer vacation. The property is in an ideal location for easy access to everything OBX has to offer. An easy walk to the beach, grocery stores nearby, pretty much anything we needed was very close. Looking forward to coming back again!

The house and deck were smaller than expected. The upstairs "kitchen" could use some work - it's just a sink and lots of cabinets. A small fridge and microwave would be great. A keychain for the keys would be helpful - also think about extending the porch - if the key falls, it's gone! The owner was responsive about the coffee maker not working. The overhead lighting in the kitchen and dining room is harsh fluorescent lights that could be changed. The counter top ice maker was a helpful addition! Advertised beach access includes crossing a major highway - not very conducive when you have a bunch of stuff and kids. We did find a free parking lot a few minutes away that worked for us. Overall the house worked for the nine of use, was just not quite as advertised.

For over 60 years the Kneas family has vacationed at the Outer Banks in Kill Devils Hills, NC. Elizabeth and Harvey Kneas purchased this vacation home in the 1960s just after the historic Ash Wednesday storm. The Kneas' brought the house as a vacation home while residing in Portsmouth, Virginia, about 1 1/2 hours north of the OBX. Originally, a two-bedroom flat roof cottage, the family has designed and remodeled the home into a perfect family gathering location. The Kneas family has spent many years at the 'cottage' hosting reunions, birthdays, anniversaries, and just summer fun beach time together. Sons Butch and Jim grew up spending lazy summer days at the beach and later working as lifeguards, bartenders, and other odd jobs through high school and their college years. Now the Kneas' grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoy the cottage; this third generation is learning to body surf, build sandcastles, play putt-putt, and enjoy all the OBX has to offer.

You may cross the highway with the pedestrian signal. Also a short walk to the sound. Newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms to include new flooring. Close to many restaurants and shopping, great bike paths and a short walk to the Sound.

Walking distance to both the beach, sound and shopping makes it the ideal OBX home for large family get togethers. Located at mile post 6 1/2 it is close to the Wright Brothers Memorial, several miles of bike paths, and Jockey's Ridge for hang gliding and kite flying. Minutes away from Oregon Inlet where you can drive on the beautiful beaches, fish from the shoreline or charter a deep sea fishing boat.
