The Platte Lake Lodge - Situé à moins de 5 km du parc national de Sleeping Bear, cet endroit vous place à proximité de toutes les activités et des boutiques du nord du Michigan.

Excellent emplacement pour le golf, la navigation de plaisance, le ski, le kayak ou tout simplement traîner sur le lac. Le périmètre du lac est peu profond, ce qui permet au lac de se réchauffer rapidement et ajoute de la sécurité à vos jeunes invités tout en nageant et en jouant.

Les couchers de soleil sont une vue de carte postale. Le lac Platte est un lac tous sports de 2 500 acres avec de l'achigan à petite bouche, du brochet, du doré et du poisson pan.

Les vacanciers peuvent faire du kayak ou du canoë de la propriété à travers la rivière Platte jusqu'aux rives du lac Michigan.

Huit kayaks et 2 pédalos sont disponibles pour votre usage. Le est également un ponton disponible à la location exclusivement pour les clients du PlatteLakeLodge. Si vous avez une grande fête, la maison principale peut accueillir de 8 à 10 personnes dans 4 lits queen-size dans 2 chambres. La chambre avec lits superposés peut accueillir 4 dans 2 lits queen-size et le Loft a de la place pour 6 dans 3 lits queen-size. La maison principale a les deux salles de bain complètes qui desservent les 3 bâtiments. Même si le Loft and Bunk House n'a pas de plomberie, la proximité de la maison principale est si proche que cela n'a pas été un problème. La salle familiale dispose d'une grande télévision de 55 'avec câble pour regarder vos films préférés le soir. Il y a Internet sans fil si vous avez besoin de vérifier vos e-mails ou de surfer sur le net. La maison principale dispose d'un nouvel adoucisseur d'eau avec un système d'osmose inverse. Nous avons récemment ajouté un lave-vaisselle et un nouveau grand réfrigérateur doté d'une machine à glaçons et d'un distributeur d'eau, tous deux alimentés avec de l'eau filtrée. Il y a aussi un Keurig et un M. Machine à café. Le foyer est celui qui ne sera pas oublié.

Nice getaway

Really enjoyed the property, location and activities. I would recommend to families wanting to spend some relaxing time on the lake, while enjoying the majestic surrounding area of northern Michigan.

Beautiful property!

We enjoyed our stay at Platte lake. The lake was beautiful and we used the kayaks and paddle boards several times. The available firewood made it so nice to not worry about purchasing on the way. The bunk house had a very strong, but clean, smell that prevented us from sleeping in it even after hours of airing it out. We were disappointed that the hot tub listed was inaccurate as that was a key search component and something our party was hoping for. We enjoyed many surrounding sights and attractions such as the St Ambrose cellars and the sleeping bear dunes. Would stay here again!

Family vacation

We are a large family of varying ages. This is the perfect place for everyone! Jeff was the perfect host and easily accessible. The layout of the 3 living areas was perfect, as the loft was great for all-our kids. We rented the pontoon and it worked great. This property is so close to so many things and works well for large groups. We all agreed it is one of the nicest places we have ever rented!

Fun Trip

Beautiful outside area with kayaks, fire pit and lovely water view. We enjoyed the spectacular views even with some rainy weather. We even saw a rainbow over the water. The small town restaurants were quaint and delicious. Fun trip!

Great Cabin for large and small groups w/ on-site beach/kayaks.

This is a great lakefront property with room for a large group. We only had 3 so we didn't use the extra space but can easily accommodate 2-3 families with small children or teens. Jeff has a great indoor hangout spot with a pool table as well as 6 kayaks, 2 paddleboards, a small beach where you can easily launch kayaks, a dock, 3 picnic tables, and a nice firepit with seating for 8+. Basically anything you'd want for a lakefront cabin with activities at your fingertips. The rental description is accurate. There was a portable AC unit in one of the upper rooms that did well for us. I expect it keeps the entire area upstairs cool if needed but it was mid 60's-70's during our stay mid-September. We would be happy to rent again.

Fantastic Spot

We had a fantastic time. We rented the pontoon. Did a little swimming and fishing off the pontoon. We used the included kayaks and paddleboard daily. They had a great sanded area where my granddaughter (2 1/2) played and built sandcastles. We rented another home about a mile away so we had a total of 18 people in and out. We played volleyball as there is a official net set up. My only complaint, the ball needed more air and we didn't have a needle. There is a pool table which we did not use but we did use the ping pong table for a little beer pong. We had a Hawaiian Luah one evening and the two tables on the back patio accommodated all of us. Close to downtown Frankfort. We golfed at Crystal Mountain. Visited two breweries and 1 distillery close by. Hikes Sleeping Bear Dunes. My husband and son road their bikes on the tart trail from Traverse City to Sutton Bay and back. We had a tour bus come and pick us up and we went to a couple wineries in Sutton Bay. We just alll around enjoyed ourselves. We always had dinners at the house. Never went out. Now, Jeff and Larry we need to talk your wives into renting us your home too, lol, and hopefully, a great combined price for both homes and pontoon.

Great Lakefront Getaway

Based on the review’s, we booked our stay 9 months ago. We just completed our week and the property did not disappoint - We loved it! There were only four of us and our dog, so plenty of space for all of us. The property can definitely handle four times the amount of our group. The property came equipped with kayaks, paddle boards, fire pit, dock, and more. Very shallow water well out past the dock. You can see the dark edge where it drops. Great place for swimming, not so much for fishing. You need to be out in the deeper water where the shelf is where all the fishing boats were fishing. Jeff has a pontoon available for use for an additional fee. The area where this property sits is close to town, yet secluded and in a private area via a good dirt road. No road or traffic noise, was very quiet. Great star gazing at night. We were lucky enough to have no rain during our stay. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Jeff was very responsive to the few questions we did have and was very accommodating. The wives said some of the skillets and baking pans were heavily used and could stand to be replaced, but were still usable. That is not a complaint, just something to be considered for the future. Our 12 year old black lab absolutely loved the lake. He spent much of his time swimming. We spent time kayaking and touring. My wife grew up in the area so we know a lot of secret spots most travelers have no idea about. Bottom line is we loved our stay. You will too!

Million dollar setting and location

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay and are still talking about the unforgettable sunsets and late night stargazing sitting by the fire. The lake is absolutely perfect with crystal clear water. The cabin is a typical rustic lake house with a great coffee pot! Jeff and his family make it easy to stay here. For those that are interested in the details, I'll share a few helpful details. Cabin - rustic and lived in but clean. The kitchen has all of the appliances, pots/pans that you'll need. If you like to cook, I'd recommend bringing spices, oils, etc. There is not much there beyond utensils. Charcoal grill available. There are plenty of good quality beds in the three places. We thought it might be odd but we found the loft to be an outstanding option for our teenagers. It felt very safe and they were thrilled to have their own space. There are two full bathrooms in the main house that both include showers. There is plenty of storage cubbies and towels. Bring outdoor towels. TVs - in the main house there is a large screen with cable and in the loft there is another large screen TV with Netflix options, smart tv. Lake & Outdoor area is absolutely phenomenal. This property has so much frontage space to make you incredibly comfortable, private, and enjoyable. You'll never want or need to be inside. Swim, kayak, paddle, or fish - it's all very easy and accessible. They provide numerous kayaks and a couple of SUPs. The access and entrance to the water is unbelievably easy and very soft sand bottom. Water shoes aren't necessary although my kids generally wore them. Great for kids. Huge side yard with volleyball net. Nice size fire pit in the yard overlooking the lake - perfect to take in the sunset and also to stick around and watch for stars into the night. Amazing clear skies - known for Ursa Major sightings. If you can get up around 6am, the sunrise was stunning as well. The area is pretty quiet. 5 minutes to groceries and a few local restaurants. Check out the Manitou if you're seeking fine dining (worth it). Frankfort is a 15 min ride and offers shopping, restaurants, etc. Traverse was about 30 minutes. If you like to run or bike, be sure to check out the Betsy Valley Trail that offers a 23 mile loop that you can pick up 5 minutes from the cabin.

Perfect spot on big platte - water was great temp in september, lakebed was quite sandy. Great location to get to the Honor family market if needed and plenty of other activities (drive in, gold, etc.) near by.

Family Vacation

This house was large enough for myself and my 3 kids and their families , 7 adults and 3 children We all had our own bedrooms and space. Plenty to do. We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boards and pontoon boat. We went fishing, enjoyed the large yard, pool table and fire pit. We’ll definitely be back.

Beautiful grounds. The outdoor space is absolutely perfect for large groups. Beach is sandy and clear. We would recommend this property to anyone. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Fire pit and chairs are top notch.

The Lodge

We enjoyed our stay. The host was very responsive and accomodating. We appreciated having the kayacks, sandy beach area and fire pit. The location on Platte Lake was excellent. The opportunity to rent the pontoon boat was an added bonus. Thank you, Jeff.

Great lake house!

We loved our time at Platte Lake Lodge and even added another night to our stay! Jeff was a great host and very responsive. There was ample room to space out, with multiple sleeping quarters and plenty of beds, which was really nice and comforting during these times. We used the fire-pit nightly and enjoyed our coffee in the morning sitting out by the lake. Enjoyed the kayaks and made use of the pool table the one day it rained; we spent our last day discussing when we could come back and do it all again!

Nice place. Tons of room for our family. Pontoon rental was great, fished every morning with my dad and brother. Also nice to take the family on a cruise and jump in the lake. Both Jeffrey and Trent were very responsive to any request we had.

Fantastic getaway!

This was the perfect getaway for our group. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Great Stay

Property was amazing and Jeff the owner was also amazing and was on hand to assist us with any little issue. The view from the house is absolutely beautiful with crystal clear water and they have kayaks and paddle boards available to use whenever. The place was super clean and has new beds with all the things needed to have a great vacation :)

Wonderful Family Vacation

Our family stayed at the Platte Lake Lodge for a week's vacation to celebrate several Milestone Birthdays. We had 3 generations and 4 families staying at the lodge and everyone enjoyed the stay with all of the extra space the house offered. No one felt "on top" of anyone else. The location is perfect, the amenities were great and Jeff was a superb host. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a laid back, fun vacation destination.

Perfect Rental for Extended Families

The owner Jeff was easy to work with and very accommodating. The property was clean and ready for our week by the time we arrived. Jeff met us there himself and provided a full tour of the property and everything that was available for our use. We vacationed with our children and their families which included three little ones ages 5 and under. The property contained everything we had hoped for that was included in Jeff's description. We made use of the kayaks, standing paddle board, volleyball court and fire pit. We added on the pontoon rental after we arrived so we could enjoy some fishing from the middle of the lake, along with leisurely boating around the water. On one rainy day, we spent time shooting pool on the billiards table in the garage. The small sandy area at the waterfront was the perfect size for our small boys who loved to play in the sand for hours at a time. The lake water was clean and refreshing. Water shoes are a plus for swimming and kayaking. While there was no air conditioning, we had plenty of windows which we'd open to provide a nice cross breeze (we went the end of June so the weather was cooler). On the one occasion that we needed to reach the owner, he responded to us right away. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to vacation at this rental again in the future.
