You’ll enjoy a comfy king-size bed beneath a cathedral ceiling, a full bath, a kitchenette, private parking, and a view of Sleeping Lion Mountain from your windows! Just out the door, take advantage of your own flagstone-walled patio. You’ll find a flat-screen TV with complimentary Netflix (plus login to any of your other favorite streaming apps you have an account with) and free wireless. And we’re pet friendly, so bring the pooch.

You're an easy walk from downtown Fort Davis, so you're not subject to being stranded in a remote location if the elements turn against you. You can stroll and dine and shop and soak up the unique charm of our town, and you're a quick drive from Texas' most dramatic mountain vistas. Fifteen breathtaking miles from the McDonald Observatory. Twenty miles from the art Mecca of Marfa. Thirty-two miles from a refreshing swim in the spring-fed mountain pool at Balmorhea.

You're surrounded by history both inside--in a past life, Casa Hermosa served our country as a barracks for Army Air Force pilots during World War I--and outside--the rocks on our mountains are 500 million years old, and once served as hiding places for Apache and Comanche warriors.

Casa hermosa

We had an absolutely phenomenal stay, our host was so amazing and accommodating. The locals around the town made you feel like family. The location was perfect, and the view of Sleeping lion mountain was so pristine, I loved waking up to it every morning coffee cup in hand. Even my dog was impressed at the location, I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We had such a wonderful stay, I will definitely be booking again soon.

This place was lovely and the location was perfect. There were issues with VRBO and the host did everything he possibly could to get the problem solved. I would definitely come here again!

Cute and private despite being next to the high school. Only issue was no hot water for the shower, but there was in the sinks. Enjoyed our stay

Hi Tina. I'm so sorry about the shower. The hot & cold water valves are swapped on the shower, and the hot water takes a minute to get there from the other side of the house. It is an on demand system, so once the hot water is there(1-2 minutes) you can shower as long as you like. I apologize for not letting you know. Perfect refreshing trip

With a goal to hike the Davis Mountains, I could not have picked a better accommodation. Just minutes from the State Park, and from the lovely downtown of Ft. Davis, it was also quiet and clean and well stocked (thank you for the coffee!!). This is a lovely and warm location and I highly recommend it. Thank you so much Matthew, for providing this property to us!

Nice and quiet place

Our first morning we woke up to 3 deer right outside our door. Very unique and unexpected surprise. Very nice place in a very small town. Room was as expected and bed was not wore out (like many places). Would stay again if we ever make it back to Texas. Thanks

We enjoyed the place, nice small and quiet area. There were some things that the place was lacking. The cleaning supplies was not enough to clean bathroom and kitchen area. No cleaner for the tub or toilet bowl was provided. The kitchen could definitely use more cooking utensils and kitchen towels. We dud notice small spiders near the bed area, they were spider webs up on the beams might want to spray and get webbs out before next guests. The outside mat should be thicker to avoid bringing in those stickers. Maybe leave instructions for bath faucets on how to use for hot water.

Sweet stay

Easy to get to and very convienent to all area attractions. The porch was a great place to hang out-wonderful view of Sleeping Lion mountain. Bed extremely comfortable. All the kitchen items we needed were provided. When I couldn't figure out the wi-fi password I has a super quick response. This is one of our favorite regions of Texas and we will definitly book again.

Cozy spot in Fort Davis

Well maintained and provisioned unit. Great location for access to the town of Fort Davis (all dining sites within walking distance), the Fort Davis historic site and Davis Mountains State Park. Easy to find with very clear directions, check in was turn-key. Did not need to communicate with property manager. A/C worked well. One minor suggestion -- add coffee mugs in the kitchen.

Fort Davis Hummingbird Festival

This was the perfect spot for me and my doggies! Matthew was a great host, quickly responding to any questions I had prior to the visit, including how to split up payment, etc. And the welcome email he sent on my arrival day made me feel right at home when I arrived. He even had two bicycles available for my use. Everything was just as I expected from the photos, and I was very comfortable there. The view of the mountains was very nice, and I felt completely safe walking my dogs around the neighborhood. I even got to know my "neighbors", who were also staying at one of Matthew's apartments for the Hummingbird Festival. I would definitely stay here again, and I would recommend it to others.

Don't Think We Will Book King Suite Again

We had an unexpected cold snap in mid-April (low 27 degrees; wind chill 14 degrees) and found out that there is NO heat in the bathroom and the tiny space heater at the ceiling level of the main room is wholly inadequate to heat the main room (remember, heat RISES, so even if the thermostat is set at 80 only the ceiling area might be warm. We were there for four nights and ended up only using the place to sleep (under 4 quilts) because the place was so cold and there's virtually no insulation. The hot water took several minutes to heat up because the hot water heater apparently is located on the other side of the house and inaccessible to the King Suite.
