Between Beach and Bay.

I am renting my guestroom with a shared bath room. Your room is all private and perfect for one person. I am located between beach and bay, 15 minutes to downtown, 15 minutes to the airport, 25 minutes to the Mexican border. 5 minutes to the Pacific Beach entertainment center and 5 minutes to Belmont Park and the roller Coaster on the ocean side Boardwalk. I have a parrot by the name of Sam. He is very people friendly.
I am happy to provide you with tips about what to see and do in San Diego.
I always have a Welcome Drink for you.
I accept a minimum stay of two (2) nights and up to seven (7) nights. Check in is after 4 PM and check out is by 11 AM. Please advise arrival time. And remember that I am upstairs.
I speak German, some Norwegian and a bit of Spanish.
Also I don't have a hot tub as stated.

Location location location!

Loved staying at Gernot’s place. It is all about the location. I was able to walk to all my favorite places in mission beach, pacific beach and sail bay. Neighbors are great and have been living in Gernot’s building from 7-15 years so they are more like a family than just neighbors.

Great location but on the wrong app

The host is a good guy who is very kind and hospitable but I thought the purpose of Vrbo was to have private rental properties to stay at. Staying under the same roof as the host is more of a thing you'd find on a different vacation rental platform. The neighborhood is great though.

Great location, great host, great stay

Room is cozy and had everything I needed for remote working (maybe a more comfortable chair for long hours of desk work?). Bed is very comfortable and home is clean and maintained. Wifi is good. I was able to walk to many restaurants at the beach boardwalk within 20 minutes from the place. Bus stop is right by the place too, with convenient bus routes to downtown and other places of interest.Gernot is a gracious host and a cool conversationalist! Definitely the best part of my stay and will miss having after-work drinks with him and saying good morning to Sam the parrot.

Absolutely loved my stay.. Gernot was very helpful and Location is Amazing. I could even smell the Ocean from in bed there. Was only in town for a concert but sure wish I would have stood a lot longer. I will definitely be back for more time staying with Gernot and Sam â˜ș❀

He was an absolutely amazing host!! Wonderful to talk to and so knowledgeable and thoughtful! We talked and watched some shows and he gave great insight into where i should go in the area. Super grateful and i will be back! 😁🙏

Great and friendly host

Gernot was a very cool and interesting person to stay with and his place is in a pretty ideal spot for those seeking out some beach time. The room is small but functional with a work desk and strong Internet.

A most charming experience with a most charming host

The host is a charming older gentleman with a very interesting parrot Sam. The bedroom is small but never feels that way. This is a perfectly positioned opportunity to walk for 30 seconds and enjoy the beach in the morning. If you like intelligent conversation and quiet charm you will find this excellent value for money.

My host was most friendly and helpful with local directions. All the amenities for my stay were provided. Free parking nearby was available, and the beach was a couple blocks away. If your haven't experienced San Diego weather, you should. Delightful time.

Mission Beach trip

I was surprised to be greeted by the owner of the property and find out that he would be staying in the room next to me with shared kitchen and bathroom. He complained of having strep throat which I thankfully did not catch.

An enchanting beach escape

Gernot was very accommodating , and great company . We laughed well into the night and he also provided a quiet and peaceful environment for when I came home late from work. Would highly recommend, will return.

Gernot, the host, is an incredibly sweet older gentleman. Be aware that once inside, this apartment is outfitted for an elder person (see picture). Sam, the Parrot, lives in a large cage in the living room - be warned: Sam snores! 😄 The space is small, but terribly interesting. There are shelves of hardback books about a foot from the ceiling that line every possible wall. Gernot could not be more accommodating and although my stay was short, it was definitely a unique experience.

Sea Stories and a Feathered Friend –

I had the pleasure of staying with a lovely older gentleman, Gernot, and his charismatic parrot, Sam. There are people in this world that we cross paths with, and they enrich our lives in unexpected ways, and Gernot and his feathered companion, Sam, are undoubtedly among those salty souls. The moment I walked through the door, I was welcomed by Sam's lively squawks and Gernot's warm smile. Staying with Gernot and Sam was not just about finding a place to rest my head; it was about embracing the quirkiest and most enjoyable hospitality I've encountered. If you're up for an unforgettable Vrbo stay filled with laughter, sea tales, and the occasional feathered comment from Sam, then this is the place for you. Just right for one person

I wanted a close-to -the-beach, comfortable and affordable place to stay and I got it. I could walk to coffee, restaurants and shopping. I spent one week and enjoyed the beach daily. Gernot, my host, and his neighbors were friendly and invited me to join in on their barbecue on my first night. The room was perfect for one person and I found the bed to be very comfortable.
