Evan's Cottage is special great location, comfort, owner!

We spent Christmas 2024 at Evan's Cottage... it's our 2nd visit here, and again it did not disappoint! We love the Outer Banks, even when it's cold and breezy, and we visit frequently. This location and home are both wonderful, from long walks on the beach, the view of the lighthouse (this year under renovation) and expansive ocean views from just about every room! We had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. Kitchen is well equipped. We cooked most meals at the house. Living areas are roomy and comfortable. Master bedroom and ensuite bathroom are both very roomy and super comfortable. Good water pressure in master shower and huge soaking tub, with plenty of hot water. Owner is great - responsive and helpful. We hope to return sometime soon for another visit!

Beachfront Thanksgiving

We had a wondeful time! The beach was breathtaking with seashells, pelicans and dolphins. I was not prepared for how "beachfront" the house was, so would recommend 4-wheel drive if available. We did not have and were able to access, but would have felt more confident with it. House was great. Had all the kitchen items needed for our full holiday meal.

Beautiful Buxton

This house lived up to every expectation we had and all of the great reviews. Our 3 boys had so much fun and they were in and out of the water all day, the beach access was amazing and convenient. The house was great, very comfortable and amazing views from the balconies. We had an amazing time and are hoping to make another trip!

Beautiful house VERY close to the water!

From beginning to end this was a delightful experience. Booking, check-in, check-out was well managed. The house was clean and well cared for. Having sheets and towels made getting settled-in a breeze. The kitchen was large and reasonably well equiped. There is a cabinet with spices which was a nice surprise. The Ocean is right out front allowing for easy on-off beaching and watching the dolphins.

Not your typical rental

This was our second booking at Evan's Cottage and we've rebooked again for next summer. We love the 'front row' proximity to the sea, the expansive porch/decking on both levels, the convenient outdoor shower, the large windows with sea views in almost every direction. The rooms are generous in size and comfortably furnished. The large kitchen is well stocked, and we used it most days to the maximum because no restaurant could compete with the ambience this beautiful home offers, and we frankly just didn't want to leave! Thank you, Mary, for your usual great communication and attention to detail. Looking forward to next July at Evan's Cottage!

Can’t beat the location!!

We absolutely loved our stay! The view was simply amazing and you just can’t beat being a few steps to the water. Mary was very attentive to our needs and made sure we were comfortable. We vacation often at different ocean front beach homes and this was one of our favorites!

Lovely Stay on the Beach

Property is a great place to stay on the beach. Two decks - one for sun and the other for shade make it ideal. The master suite and bath look out at the beach, and the upstairs living area does the same. Nice kitchen, too. The spare bedrooms are roomy. Ideas for making it better: 1. For the price, it would be better if there were a few chairs to take to the beach. 2. Have kleenex in the bathrooms. 3. Extra trash bags - people will do a lot of takeout, and 3-4 garbage bags may not be enough. 4. A mat inside to wipe your feet will help reduce the amount of sand tracked inside.

Absolutely beautiful stay!

The location and views from the house were perfect! The house was beautiful and easily accommodated our family (my spouse, 2 grown children & partners, and 2 teenage girls). Mary was great and made sure we had everything we needed. Hatteras Island was lovely, great shops and restaurants.

What a view!!

We had a wonderful time at the Evans Cottage. The house was perfect and so well stocked with everything we needed. And the ocean is right outside the back door!! Mary was absolutely the best! Highly recommend a stay here and I hope we will be back soon.

Wonderful

I had a wonderful two week stay at this beautiful house. Mary is awesome and so easy to communicate with and get in touch with. The house was spotless when I checked in. You are right on the ocean and will have everything you want and need in the kitchen, extra blankets, etc. The air conditioner cools the house very well and the location is great. Everything was perfect.

Memorable Buxton home, memorable off-season vacation!

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent vacation while staying in Evan’s Cottage. The spacious oceanfront home is thoughtfully designed, fully furnished, and has interesting works of art that revealed themselves slowly as we settled in. It was fun discovering them! There’s much to be said about the spectacular OBX sunrises, sunsets - and everything between! The orientation of the home is perfect for enjoying gorgeous views in either direction from balconies or through many sliding doors and large windows. Both levels of balconies were wonderful for peaceful down-time. It was especially relaxing in the south-facing corner outside the kitchen, where we found protection from north winds on cooler, yet sunny days. Of course, being right on the beach made for easy access, so we enjoyed shelling and multiple daily walks. We would have used the outdoor shower had it been later in the season, but a nearby hose was available for sandy feet.We also appreciated that the home is close to restaurants, groceries, and sightseeing. It is our pleasure to review and recommend this home to others! Our host, Mary, deserves special thanks. Her communications made every aspect of the Vrbo experience pleasant and seamless. Everything was in order upon arrival and the home was spotlessly clean. Mary was responsive and immediately available - even when we had a minor question about a television! It was nice knowing we and the house were in good hands. Thanks for sharing Evan's Cottage. Jack & Nancy

What a Trip!

During our time at Evan’s Cottage we had an ever changing experience, every moment of which was better than the last. Our family loved the space and views from the windows every morning and evening. The starts and the waves made us want to stay up late and the sunrise and dolphins made us eager to wake up every morning. Overall, we would like to say thank you to Mary and the homeowners for sharing this lovely location.

Thanksgiving

Best Thanksgiving ever! Well appointed kitchen for cooking our meal. Ocean views from every window. Surfing and fishing were fantastic right out the back door. Mary was quick to respond with any questions. Ready to book again!

Amazing Oceanfront Stay

If you are looking for direct oceanfront views - this home can't be beat. Nicely appointed and furnished and very relaxing. Enjoyed the master bedroom and balcony with sound of the waves! Buxton had some nice restaurants, shops and a very handy grocery store. Mary was an excellent host. Very friendly and available if needed, but the home had no problems or issues - it was great. Would definitely stay here again.

Fun in the sun

We had a wonderful time on our family vacation. The house is beautiful, the beach is clean, the waves were awesome, and the night sky is so clear with stars in abundance, truly breathtaking. Mary was a top notch host. The weather got a little precarious with a storm rolling by out in the ocean. Mary kept us informed on the how’s, why’s and what to do’s. If you want a relaxing, fun vacation I would highly recommend this gorgeous property. The Reiley family
