Beautiful home on Matagorda Beach with fenced in yard!

This property features 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms while sleeping up to 10 people (8 adults maximum) comfortably. Enjoy breathtaking beach views from inside the home or sit on your private balcony and listen to the ocean waves crash along the beach. Beach access is available directly from the home with your own pathway through the dunes.
The home has a fully fenced yard and is pet-friendly (two dog limit), perfect for your four legged family members. Upstairs you will find two bedrooms equipped with Queen size beds and two bedrooms with a full/twin bunk bed setup. Both bathrooms feature a bathtub/ shower combo and downstairs you will find an outdoor shower perfect for rinsing the sand off your feet. Enjoy breakfast while watching the sunrise over the beach and take advantage of the fully stocked kitchen. The home has a smart TV and wifi available (Samsung TV Plus channels available). Every window in the living room and kitchen has stunning, unobstructed beachfront views. Spend your day on the private balcony enjoying the sea breeze, take a short stroll to the beach, or fish some of the best areas that the Texas coast offers.

There are three exterior security cameras. One camera monitors under the house, facing toward the street/gate and bottom of the stairs. Another camera monitors the backyard and the gate to the beach path. The third provides a view of the dunes/water. Audio is disabled on all cameras.


As part of our effort to help you relax and enjoy your stay, we have partnered with Safely to provide you with the below protection. This beach house is such a great place to stay. Access to the beach is easy and home is well maintained. I would recommend to anyone looking to book a trip in the Matagorda area!

Beach Gem!

We stayed at the Driftwood Beach House last weekend and were SO pleased with the place! The house was clean, well decorated, and filled with amenities. Our favorite parts were the stunning beach views! The large windows showed great views of the beach and morning coffee on the large deck was a peaceful start to each day. The direct beach access was a HIT with our group. The only complaint we had was that we didn’t book a longer stay! Looking to stay here again next summer, for SURE! You won’t be disappointed, choosing this property.

Perfect beach house, we will definitely be back!

We usually stay at the Bahia HOA next door but needed a bigger house this year as we were having my daughter’s wedding on Matagorda Beach. The house is beautiful! Plenty of room, 4 bedrooms, 2 will bunk beds and 2 with queens. This worked out perfectly for the couples with children. The kitchen has everything you could need, we cooked most of our meals. We really appreciated the water cooler, the gas grill, and the spray off deck under the house. As well as the covered parking. We love the close location to the beach, we have 4x4 vehicles and are able to drive on via the 3 mile entrance. Highly recommend you do not take a non 4x4 vehicle unless you plan on walking through the dunes or parking at the beach entrance and walking on to the beach. If you do get stuck, there is a Matagorda Off-road and recovery group on Facebook. The members monitor the posts and will come out and tow you out of the sand. We will definitely book this house again next year and bring along our dog. There is a fenced yard as well as a gate off the top deck to keep your kids or animals from going down the stairs themselves. The views on this house cannot be beat, I am extremely happy with the booking process, the price, and the customer service. Thank you again for all the excellent memories!

Fantastic Vacation!

We loved this property and it's location! The property was outfitted really well with all of the essentials we needed to make our stay super comfortable and lot's of fun! From the super soft sheets and towels, to the cookware and appliances, we could not be happier with this house! We look forward to our next trip to Matagorda and the Driftwood Beach House.

Great Beachfront Home!

We stayed here for our first time last year and we decided to stay here again this year because we thoroughly enjoy this beachfront home so much. All the new renovations are a major plus. July 4 in Matagorda

The Driftwood beach house was perfect. The view was amazing and just a short walk across the dunes to the beach where our group from the RV park had staked out a place for us all and we could get back and forth easily. The home was clean, has a great size kitchen and living space and was large enough for us all to be quite comfortable. The only thing I would add is that next time..(and there will be a next time) I will bring a mattress pad for the bed my husband and I slept in.

Gorgeous home!

This home is absolutely gorgeous! First though, if you have any questions, their response time is almost immediate and they are so sweet and understanding! The outside deck is HUGe and also has a gate to keep little and pets from running off. There’s also a sturdy fenced in yard but you’ll want to spend time on the deck when not at the beach. Speaking of beach, it’s a minute drive or you can walk there but I opted the drive. They have thoughtful touches throughout the home so you don’t have to run out if you forget anything. There’s a regular Mr coffee pot, spices, coffee powder, hair dryers in both bathrooms and little shampoo conditioner and body lotion. They also have the makeup remover clothes there (magic makeup remover) which is also a nice touch! They have some bug spray but there was a breeze so there were no bugs outside during my stay. The furniture is excellent quality and The beds are comfortable with nice quality bedding; and the decorations are so cute! I absolutely plan to book again. I got lucky with this rental as it was a relaxing and lovely experience.

AAAAAAMAZING PROPERTY!!

I'd like to start off by saying we frequent Matagorda and have stayed at probably 10 different properties...this one blows all of them out of the water (pun intended lol). LOCATION: The proximity to the beach is phenomenal. There is even a short little path through the dunes to the beach located right out the back fence. With teenagers (we were celebrating our daughters 17th birthday) this was perfect because they could go back and forth without any effort from the grownups. We could just sit on the balcony and enjoy the beautiful view while keeping an eye on them. It also allowed us to use our side by side to drive to the beach rather than taking our vehicles in the deep sand. BEDROOM/ BATHROOM SET UP: While being a bit unconventional having 2 bathrooms back to back it worked perfectly for our group of 8. Both bathrooms were full bathrooms with jetted tubs! The 2 rooms with king beds were large a had the perfect amount of furniture and were tastefully decorated. The 2 bunk rooms had full under twin bunks which the kids loved since they were not little kids the set up allowed them to sleep comfortably. OUTSIDE SPACE: There was plenty of parking in the fenced in yard. We did not bring our dog but we should have because he would have loved it. The balconies (yes I said balconies as there were multiple) were large and all had amazing views of the beach and had plenty of seating. There was also a picnic table and BBQ downstairs which was super convenient. VALUE: The daily rate for this insane rental was far below what I would have expected to pay for such a well appointed beachfront property. MISC: This may be unimportant to some people but we tend to always be hot while we are sleeping (I always bring fans to rentals for this reason) however this properties air conditioner was nice and cold. Plus had we needed fans I wouldnt have even needed to drag mine out because they had some there just in case they were needed. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY!! In the future when we plan a trip to Matagorda my first step will be checking to see if this property is available. We will definitely stay there again...and again...and again!

Perfect for a beach getaway

I had an incredible stay at this beach house! The location is absolutely stunning, with direct access to the beach. The house itself is spacious, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated. The large windows provide breathtaking ocean views, especially during sunrise and sunset. The amenities were just right, from the fully equipped kitchen to the comfortable bedrooms. Relaxing on the private deck while listening to the waves was pure bliss. The owner was also very responsive and accommodating. I couldn't have asked for a better beach getaway. I highly recommend this beach house for a memorable vacation!

We had a great stay here. Every year we take a family trip to the beach and this place is now at the top of our list. The house was the perfect size for us and the fenced yard was perfect for our labs! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Matagorda and will definitely be coming back!

Awesome!!!

My family had a wonderful time at Driftwood. The house has so many extras and so many cute decorations. It was very well stocked, and we were able to cook all meals here rather than ordering out. The 4 bedrooms were great, everyone or every couple had their own room. The view from the kitchen table and outdoor porch is amazing! Everything worked perfectly. We used the dishwasher and washer/dryer. The ac was good. The outdoor shower was nice, it is always easier to wash off outside. I received check in instructions promptly- these were very detailed and helpful. I didn’t need to contact management during our stay because everything was explained in the check in instructions and the information provided in the house. The mosquitoes were awful but that is not something the homeowners can control, just bring lots of bug spray. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Driftwood beach house.

Nice house and view, bad management

The rental unit was nice and had beautiful views of the ocean. Amazing to walk out to the deck and hear the ocean. The walk to the beach was a little overgrown, but nothing as humans or canines couldn’t deal with and very nice to have a private beach path. The kitchen was very well stocked and we enjoyed the open floor plan. The living room area was also nice and comfortable. Cleanliness was good, stove and microwave were greasy but otherwise the unit was tidy. Now for the bad: Communication with property manager was significantly unresponsive. Texted property manager on the day of our check-in didn’t hear back from her the next afternoon; she said they had Covid but apparently their is no back up contacts. The air conditioner was not working at all (set to 72 but indoor temp reached 89 (wormer than outside)) we advised the property manager heard back from her 2 hours later. The property manager only attempt to rectify the problem was to move us out of our rental unit into a smaller rental unit at 10 o’clock (9:47pm) at night. She wanted to move my elderly parents, elderly aunt, my adult son, my husband and I, and our 3 dogs into a two bedroom without a fenced yard. The property manager showed no care for the hardship or chaos it would cause to move three elderly people, animals, and rest of us at 10 at night. The property manager also said she would send a air conditioning tech to fix broken AC the next day but we never heard from the property manager for the rest of our stay. We found previous complaints of broken air conditioning notated in the guest book and on a different rental site. The property manager did not notify us that there were difficulties with the air conditioning even though she had been advised the previous month. Currently working with VRBO conflict resolution. Other things, to be aware of if you stay here, the bed in bedroom four has a defective mattress and is unusable (the mattress sinks down in the middle at least 6 inches and you can see the springs sticking up). The bunkbeds can only be occupied by children on the top (occupancy of 12 adults is not possible). No attempt is made to deal with mosquito infestation.

Matagorda

The house and property were spot on like the pictures show. The view of the water from all sides was amazing. The home was spacious enough for 5 adults and 3 kids under 8! New fence around the deck and yard was secure for all littles and dogs. A short walk across the dunes to the water was doable for all of us. Owners were great for communicating with. We are already looking at dates for next year to come back!

Great location

Our group of 6 adults and 3 kids loved our stay at the Driftwood House. The location and view are wonderful, the house well stocked, simple, and clean. We ran into our hosts when checking in, and they were helpful and kind. The only real negatives for us were countless sticker burrs and mosquitoes, but we certainly wouldn't complain about the ecosystem and biodiversity of the beautiful sand dunes. Just make sure to have bug spray, and be cautious with dog paws in the grass.
