Perfect for our needs: small family home-base for a Christmas visit to the area. House was very clean and exactly as advertised. Minor communication & maintenance issues. Cornhole boards were a nice touch. Excellent location.
Great stay! House sits perfectly off the road. Donât have to worry about kids running in the road. The big tall trees towering over the house has the feeling of being away from the city yet your only 10 minutes away.
The property/yard was unkempt and in need of mowing, the back patio smelled of urine, and there were a lot of ants inside the house, along with old sticky strips that werenât doing anything to catch them. The house itself was beautiful and looked like the photos, it just seemed like it wasnât kept up with regularly. We also would have preferred to be sent the door code and check in instructions prior to arriving, but instead had to reach out to get it which was difficult with the spotty cellphone service that we had.
Unfortunately we were not able to actually stay at this property. The owner did not send the door code during the check in process. I attempted to call once we reached the property but was sent directly to voicemail multiple times. I attempted to communicate through the app, but the owner did not respond for well over an hour, and only after I had sent a message that we were leaving the property because we could not wait any longer.
I traveled here with my son to check out UT and absolutely loved our time here. The place felt bigger in person than in the pictures and every bit as charming and cozy. We both loved it. I'm a really light sleeper but had no trouble sleeping in as the surrounding areas are silent. It's nestled just off a wooded road so feels rustic and very private but is only minutes from UT and downtown Knoxville. Also the sauna is super cool, and my teenage son loved sitting in it. The hosts are responsive and helpful. It was all around a great experience for us... we were sad to leave!
Great location. Hall bath and sink drain slow. Needs service. Very relaxing. Someone came and took the trash to the curb. Kind of unsettling. No room for the trash we had They had filled it from somewhere else Overall we were very happy Would stay again. Thank you
Upon arrival it was fine but we got into the home and the kitchen sink was nasty like it had never been cleaned. It was hard to do the dishes because it would not drain , then it started to drain in the dishwasher. I contacted the owner/host and he was supposed to send someone but nobody came. It was very hard to communicate with the host during our stay. I will never stay in this place again.
Overall, the house was nice. It was really rainy and the house had a faint damp musky smell. You could tell it had issues with water coming in during heavy rain.
The property was beautiful.
The host was not very responsive. It took at least a day for him to respond to messages.
The biggest issue was that we found a mouse eating through the side of one of our lunch boxes. It happens, especially in old houses, but when we informed the owner he didnât even respond.
We went to Knoxville for our daughterâs graduation from UT. The house is as described, comfortable, clean and peaceful. My only complaint was that we did not receive the check-in instructions before 4pm. I tried to contact the host and the property manager without success. I had to contact Vrboâs customer support in order to get the door code, which took about 30 min. I suggest the guests request the check-in instructions ahead of time to avoid this hassle.
