Private, peaceful farmhouse with mountain and horse views!

Newer 3br/3ba private farmhouse, called “The Chicken Coop,” located on our 80-acre family horse farm. Our two-story home features an open floor plan, gas fireplace, vaulted ceilings, generously sized bedrooms, three full baths, master jacuzzi, loft with extra seating and an extra twin bed, and outdoor deck overlooking Bluff Mtn and the horses peacefully grazing. 20 minutes from Sevierville, Knoxville, Townsend. Out of the hustle bustle, yet, close enough to experience a UT game, the Smoky Mountains or the tourist attractions in Pigeon Forge!

We enjoyed our stay. Here to move our son back into UT. Clean, plenty of towels, gas for the grill. Felt like home. We enjoyed the sunset views and the horses grazing!

Enjoyed a wonderful week at the chicken coop! Location is very private, yet close enough for quick trips to Knoxville, Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg! Enough space for everyone individually with a big table to come together at! Easy communication with host and prompt attention to any questions. Highly Recommend!

Beautiful spot away from the crowds.

Spacious comfortable place! We stayed with six family members and a dog. It was set up with everything we could need. Host was very communicative with being intrusive. It was a wonderful stay. We wished we had booked longer than three nights. It was a pleasant drive to Smoky Mountains and to Knoxville the other way.

Family friendly

It can be difficult for large families like mine to find places to stay for vacation. This home had enough space for all 7 of us to have a place to sleep. There are also TVs in each room, so everyone could take time to themselves. There was also enough space in the kitchen for everyone to have a seat. The property itself is beautiful with excellent views of the Smokey Mountains. The neighbors have horses and goats that can be seen roaming about. We also had sightings of wildlife, such as deer, birds, turtles, and bats. There are also trails just off the property that my kids were able to walk on and explore. I would definitely recommend this to families wanting to explore Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the national park!

We were excited about staying somewhere new. We weren’t disappointed. The house was large, clean and decorated so cute. We really enjoyed the large porch and fenced in yard. The dogs loved their freedom and also the horses that visited every evening. Would definitely stay again.

Christmas in the Smokies

We loved our stay on this peaceful farm! Having the horses right outside our window was just perfect! The space was great for our grown children and their families. And the homeowner was great to work with! We will certainly be coming back to stay again!

The house is great. Beds need updating. Mattresses weren't comfortably. I like a a comfortable bed when I travel.

ENJOYABLE

It was a way from the hustle and bustles of the city. Yet close enough for our famliy to have Fun. I enjoyed the 6am cup of coffee and fresh cool Air in the morning, and in the Evenings I would just set and do nothing but watch the Horse's and enjoy the soundless Mountain. Me and my husband a d grandson enjoyed the walk down the driveway to see more Animals,small creek hust quite time of the country. He is 12 and enjoyed the wild blackberries...

Perfect for our large family with large dogs! Close to Dollywood area!

Our extended family of 7 with age range of 8 to 60 stayed along with our 130lb and 165lb bloodhounds. The house was the perfect size for all of us (there is a twin size bed in the upstairs game room) and had all the amenities we needed! The fenced in yard was the primary reason we rented the property as our two dogs are crated while inside and have to be on a leash if outside an enclosed area. It was a very large fenced in area with a tall enough fence to keep them safely enclosed to have a good sized area to run around freely in. A pleasant surprise was that there weren’t piles of poo left by previous dogs as there usually are. That was very nice and we made sure to return the favor! The water that is mentioned on several reviews…we come from rural west Tennessee where “hard” water from a ground well is very common. Much of the water in our area has iron and sulphur and while very safe to drink, it does have a characteristic odor and occasional color and the water at this rental was better than where we live so it wasn’t an issue. However, if that is something someone is not used to then I recommend to bring a few bottles or gallons (depending on length of stay) for drinking. It also will MOT stain your clothes or leave a smell on your laundry. Long story short, if that is your only concern…don’t let it be. The proximity is great to the Pigeon Forge area (about 30 minutes). Gatlinburg and the park ranged from 45 minutes to an hour. Fantastic rental!!

Great house to stay. Shopping was close by and ready to get to. Went to a concert at Thompson-Boiling arena and it was only 30 minutes away. It was great seeing the animals every morning and going for walks on the trails on the property.

Wonderful visit, Heather is very sweet and helpful. We liked everything about our visit and are already planning our next stay. BTW, there's a place to get gas and snacks only 1 mile away (Calloways) that also has a grill for freshly made breakfast, burgers and pizza.

We love staying at The Chicken Coop. Heather and her husband are great hosts. Love the porch to sit on and drink coffee and in the evening watch the horses. The dogs love the large fenced in area. House is decorated very cute. We had no issues!

We were so sad to check out because we (family of four) thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The location was central to every town we did stuff in -- Knoxville, Sevierville, Seymour, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Townsend. The house itself was comfortable, cozy, clean, spacious, airy, homey, and had everything we needed in the cookware/servewear department to make meals. The host was so kind as to leave us a dozen eggs laid by the very hens we saw right down the road from the house, and those eggs were delicious. Besides the chickens, there are lots of horses (many of which come to graze across from the house -- living room view! -- in the early evening), goats, and an adorable pig who will gladly eat your dinner leftovers. My family loved sharing some treats with him and the goats. There's a nice brookside trail right near the house, and the porch and rocking chairs were lovely for watching the moonrise. Beds were comfortable. So was the house temperature what with the A/C and fans. I slept really well and I'm a fussy sleeper. Some reviews have mentioned problems with the smell of the water what with the minerals. Wasn't a problem for us. We did buy bottled water but I also drank from the tap and the refrigerator water dispenser and had no issues whatsoever. Bonus: My hair loved the minerals in the shower water. Check-in was a piece of cake and the host was communicative and timely. We had a peaceful, happy stay here and felt like we truly had a second home.

Our state was absolutely perfect! The countryside was peaceful and serene. Our favorite part was the impromptu fireworks show that one of the neighbors put off on top of the mountain. What a perfect vacation.

Wonderful environment to get away and have a peaceful visit. Various home amenities available and the master bedroom bed was a dream, esp. after I had just had medical procedures. Enjoyed seeing the horses and other farm animals. Definitely hope to return as it was convenient to our kids and grandchildren, who also enjoyed seeing the animals.

Owners are great! Excellent communication. The house was BETTER than described. The surrounding property was BETTER than described. Close to the convention center. We could not have hoped for a better all-around experience. Better-than-good chance we will stay here again!!
