The cabin is very old. The bathroom is not vented every time you open the door to the bathroom. Insulation fell from the attic. It’s very inconvenient that there’s no washer and dryer. It just wasn’t what the pictures portrayed. As far as having a beach view, you can see the water, but you can’t see the sand. . The house we stayed next-door to had a red light that it turned on in the night time open for business. We had to leave a day early because one of the kids were sick and there was no refund for the additional night that we paid. if the price was lower, it might be worth it. It should be $100 a night that is the condition of the cabin.

Long weekend getaway

Sunshine Retreat was the perfect spot for me, my husband, our 13 yo daughter and our dog. The house was cool and clean, and the beach really is a short walk. The outside shower is a must, and perfect after a day at the beach. There is a convenient store just a block up, in case you need ice or anything. We will be back, thank you Ms. Rose!

Great location.

Everything was great. Two minute walk to the beach. Lots of restaurants along the seawall within walking distance. Dog loved the fenced in yard. Outdoor shower is nice for after the beach.

A perfect escape

With the sound of the ocean in your ears and the ocean breeze on your face this little escape cottage was a delight. Simply furnished, it had all that was needed - especially a front porch view of the surf and a short walk to the beach.

Weekend getaway

My husband and I had a great weekend. The house was perfect for us and our two dogs. We enjoyed how close to the beach it was. Just a short walk. The house was exactly as featured. I actually thought it was more precious in person. Mrs Rose was a great host and communicated with us rather quickly. We will be back!

Christmas Weekend in Galveston

The location was perfect and the house was very clean and inviting. We were able to walk to the beach and the pier, and there were lots of restaurants within walking distance too. Rose was very accessible for questions and the whole process was seamless. We would absolutely come back!

Perfect Little Get Away

Loved our stay at this property. The house was clean and it was close to the beach. We brought our pooch with us as well, and having the closed-in fence was nice. Communication was good! Definitely would stay there again!

Great weekend getaway

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The home was exactly as described. Very clean and appointed with everything we needed. We stayed three nights. The house is one block off the sea wall and Poretto beach. Very close to restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

Dog Friendly Stay

The house was the perfect place to stay with my dog. I loved the outdoor shower for cleaning up after a day at the beach, along with the fenced in yard for convenience/security in letting her out to potty. The location was convenient and the seawall was only a block away which provided the perfect place for after dinner walks. In addition, coffee was provided which was an extra plus. Recommend this house, especially if you are staying with your furry best friend!!

Great way to wrap up our summer

Such a cute little beach house within walking distance from the beach. The house was clean and stocked up with many necessities when we arrived. The fenced yard was perfect for our 2 dogs and made bringing them along so much easier for us all. The neighborhood was quite and safe. Communication with the host was great. Quick to respond and eager to help. I would definitely book this home again for our next trip to Galveston.

Beachside Dream

We had a wonderful time during our stay and had constant communication with the host which was a great comfort to have! We really loved the fact that it was a four minute walk to the beach side where our dogs enjoyed the surf and sun with us, while we also got to enjoy a short walk to nearby restaurants making dinner upon arrival a breeze. The yard area and grill are also great perks on top of a comfortable and clean living space, and we would love to stay again next time we visit Galveston!

Perfect for couples with pups

Perfect for a short get-away with our 2 medium dogs for a trip to Galveston! Location, location, location! We were a short walk to the beach with our pups who loved it! But if we needed to put them out, we didn't have to walk them. The fenced yard was a huge hit with us. They were very safe and secure in the yard. The house was just as described. I loved sitting on the front porch reading a magazine with the ocean breeze in my face, while my dogs napped next me or nosed around the yard. This house is a short drive to Arlen's grocery store, the Strand, and Mod Coffee Shop - all key places for us on Galveston Island. I really appreciated the attention to detail. The kitchen utensils seem to be brand new. No stained potholders, melted spatulas in this house. The grill was stocked with tools, charcoal and lighter fluid. The bathroom even had extra TP, full size toiletries and pads. So thoughtful! Many rentals now seem to have cute furniture that really isn't comfortable. The sofa with chaise in the living room were really comfortable for us. My husband really liked the mattress in the primary bedroom. This was a last minute trip and we really weren't sure what we were getting ourselves into. This house was just as described. Thanks for a much needed getaway!
