Uniquely private location at the end of a short dirt road in Harpswell. Summer home on the rocky shore. Open ocean, crashing waves, birds and breezes. An airy and uncluttered home in a remarkable location. Secluded. Flanked by two classic shingled homes only visible through the forest. Two large decks, one covered. Guests do swim off the rocks at low tide. Lounge on the rocks in comfy chairs or just never leave the oceanside decks.
Comfortable and spacious treasure with fantastic views
This lovely home exceeded all of our expectations. The property is perfect for larger groups, as there are multiple places to sit and read, work on puzzles, or even (ugh) take a business call! There is ample seating both inside and out, with a dozen comfortable outdoor chairs with cushions. There is an outdoor table that easily seats 10 with stunning views of the coastline. The bedrooms are light and airy, the beds comfortable, and although there is AC on the 1st floor, we didn't use it since there was a constant sea breeze, and fans in every room. The kitchen is well equipped, and having 2 large refrigerators was a big help with a larger group. The bathrooms have clearly recently been updates with fantastic shower heads, and top notch materials. And - there's a tankless water heater so no need to stagger showers in order to get hot water! Yay!
Our hosts were friendly, engaging and prompt with a response to our questions. We're looking forward to returning next summer and discovering more about this charming part of the Maine coast.
