NOUVELLE LISTE ☌ Unique Oceanfront Home

Oceanfront panoramique et vue directe sur le lever du soleil sur l'ßle. Réserve naturelle et sentier de randonnée à cÎté et à proximité. Loin du trafic touristique mais pratique pour les restaurants, le club de voile, le shopping, etc.

La maison a Ă©tĂ© construite en 2005. ImmaculĂ©e avec de nouveaux meubles. Maison unique avec 36 fenĂȘtres tout en capitalisant sur la vue de presque toutes les piĂšces.

Le deuxiÚme étage a une chambre principale et une salle de bain avec baignoire et coin salon à l'étage. Des vues incroyables. Queen Sleeper dans la chambre en bas avec demi-bain. TroisiÚme lit simple convertible en canapé-lit. Patio en bord de mer avec barbecue à gaz relié au réservoir de propane de la maison.

La maison reçoit l'eau de la baie de Sebago de Portland, qui est excellente par temps chaud. Refroidisseur d'eau réfrigéré et eau fournie. Pendant les mois d'hiver / froid, la maison est alimentée en eau de puits. Il est salé et assez bon pour la baignade. Trop salé pour boire mais entiÚrement sûr. L'évier a un filtre de dessalement.

Peaks Island est l'une des dizaines d'Ăźles situĂ©es dans la baie de Casco et l'ocĂ©an Atlantique. C'est le plus accessible Ă  Portland et le seul desservi par le Car Ferry. Nous pensons qu'il est l'un des plus beaux et certainement le plus agrĂ©able Ă  vivre de Portland. Les ferries partent de Portland toutes les heures environ Ă  partir de 6 h. m. Ă  presque minuit. Il y a des car ferries toutes les heures 7 jours par semaine. L'horaire varie d'un jour Ă  l'autre et selon le mois. Le trajet en ferry est extrĂȘmement pittoresque et Ă  seulement 15 minutes sur l'eau.

Pour rejoindre la maison, prenez le car-ferry avec ou sans votre véhicule. Il y a un service de taxi trÚs fiable pour 3 dollars par personne jusqu'à la maison qui répond à chaque ferry. Vous aurez une route panoramique de 2 mile à la propriété autour de Seashore Drive. Certains aiment louer une voiturette de golf prÚs du quai des ferries. Des locations de vélos sont disponibles prÚs du quai. Il y en a deux pour votre usage à la maison également.

Beautiful Maine getaway!

Really enjoyed the property and it is located beautifully along the rocky shore of the bay. Our first day was at the end of a big heat wave and the house only has one small A/C unit that we couldn’t figure out how to make work. Fortunately, the house cooled off quickly that night and we enjoyed leaving the windows open for the rest of the stay. Master bed is positioned perfectly to enjoy listening to the ocean and morning sunrises. The ferry to and from the island takes time (sometimes you have to arrive an hour or so early), patience, and money to navigate. Transporting a vehicle costs 150 per round trip. We would’ve like to have known more of these details in advance. Otherwise, the house was great, the location was beautiful, and we really enjoyed the trip. We were visited multiple times by wild turkeys roaming the yard.

Amazing House, with Amazing Views!

We loved our stay at Ocean Spray Rd, this house is beautiful and cosy, ( we stayed in late Autumn ) is is so well stocked, with every possible need met. From a fantastic range of hair care and skincare products, if I’d forgotten my own, to plentiful filtered water for our use. I just can’t find enough words to explain how perfect it is here, an absolute idyll, away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, ( we started our journey in NYC, after travelling out from the UK ) We didn’t leave the island during our 4 night stay, with the views and the house being quite enough for our needs. Book with Nikki for a wonderful vacation experience. Easy to access the property, and great communication should you need any help.

Best views on the Island!

Best spot on the back shore! Views from every room in the house! One of the few properties that is on the ocean side of the street on the backshore. I happened to be up at 4:30am for the most beautiful sunrise. Super clean, and has everything you need for your stay on Peaks. We will absolutely be back again.

We spent time up on Moosehead Lake and glad we ended our trip on Peak’s Island. House was clean and has lots of bells and whistles like home. Master shower is wonderful! Owners items are everywhere in the house though, shoes on shoe racks and clothes in dresser, that was a first for us and felt like we were intruding on someone else’s space. There was breast milk in bags in the refrigerator, that was uncomfortable when we put our groceries away! Wish the boat would have been available to rent during our stay. It was perfect for my husband and I, but if you have a family be away this is really only a 1 bedroom with a bed and dresser in a sun porch and you’ll need to go through it to go outside. The 3rd twin bed is in the dining room off the kitchen and living room, no doors or privacy. Once we settled in, it was fabulous. Everything was comfortable, master bedroom has stunning views. Views outside are just as amazing, sit on the steps and watch the sun rise between the neighboring islands. Walk out on the rocks during low tide and explore the ecosystem of the tide pools! Bikes made riding around the island fun. We saw a turtle laying eggs across the street, wild turkeys in the yard and seagulls rest on the rocks outside the home. The location is perfect if you are looking for peace and quiet. We had so much fun on Peaks and would rent this place again.

THE OWNER DECIDED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ROOF OF THE HOUSE DURING OUR STAY WITHOUT INFORMING US...

Good: This property has 5-star reviews because the views are stunning and the house is nice, however, most travelers likely didn’t have to deal with the owner extensively. Bad: The owner scheduled major work(entire roof replacement) during our stay. At 9am on our 1st day we woke to banging on the roof. I saw the owner sent a message at 8:30am alerting us for the first-time roof work would be done that day. Not apologizing for the work, she said “work is hard to schedule on the island we hope you understand”. The work was extremely loud and created an unsafe environment outside due to materials being thrown off the roof making it difficult to stay in/outside the house that day. That evening the owner notified us the work would be 3-4 more days and would be based on weather making it hard for us to plan around. We requested she reschedule the remainder of the roof work - she refused. We asked for a refund for each day we were impacted by the roof work – she refused. We tried to enjoy the remainder of our stay, however, we were continuously interrupted by people working on the house including various plumbers and contractors. Upon our departure we respectfully asked again to be refunded for the two days we were impacted by the roof work – she refused and became hostile sending a retaliation message. This included false claims of us using the fireplace “too much” causing the propane to run out (We notified the owner when it ran out and we used it less than 8 hours throughout our stay), causing damage to the property (screen door blew open during a wind storm which we notified her about), and for the first-time claimed the roof work was an emergency leak repair (roofer and property manager didn’t mention a leak. Both said they didn’t know why the owner scheduled the work while the house was being rented). VRBO reviewed the messages exchanged and confirmed there would be no such charges for these false claims. The owner’s decisions and lack of prior notification ruined our trip. She was paid for a full stay and was able to complete a major home improvement at the same time, demonstrating no remorse for her actions. Our money is lost, but we wanted to share our experience to help potential renters of this home. Both the owner and various contractors noted the home is a “work in process” and there is future improvement work to be done. If you are still considering renting from this owner, we hope this helps you make a more informed decision than we had.

The location of this property is absolutely stunning. The ocean views are amazing, we saw multiple eagles, and Peaks Island is so peaceful. It was great that I could bring my dog, and check in was very easy.

Such a stunning setting. Beautiful home right at the ocean. This home is truly a bright spot on the island of Peaks. We lounged in the sun on the back lawn looking out across a beautiful ocean. The interior is fresh and the huge windows proved over and over again to draw to the ocean. Maximum Refreshing Experience.

SPECTACULAR VIEWS FROM EVERY WINDOW!!!

This is a very attractive, well-furnished, clean, comfortable house. But what it's really all about is the view! And what a view! The house has been expertly designed with huge windows to take full advantage of the expanse of sky and rocks and water just feet away. Many of the windows, on all sides, are casement (i.e., crank-out), which allows you take full advantage of the heavenly breezes and the soothing sound of the waves hitting the rocks. Even the shower has a world-class, full-horizon view, with a crank-out window. As a matter of fact, this is the most spectacular shower, with the most spectacular view, I have ever seen. A true stunner! If you are looking for a place to unwind, to commune with an incomparable Maine seascape, to sit quietly while contemplating sunlight on water and the sound of water hitting rocks, this is the place for you. It may just heal your soul.

Gorgeous views

As many reviewers have said, this house has gorgeous views of the water - and a lovely patio outside to relax near the water. You have to go through the master bedroom to get to the full bathroom-which worked ok for us since there is a half bath downstairs. Just FYI - the bedroom downstairs is off the living room, and has sliding doors to the outside. We enjoyed the house and the island. There can be long waits for the car ferry to get on and off the island (3-hour wait on Monday morning)

The house has hard wood floors except the kitchen and bathrooms. The kitchen has a new venting microwave, dishwasher, water filter system and cooler.

The house is furnished with new furniture from West Elm and a local hand crafted Maine manufactured company.

Master bed is a new king, electric and faces the ocean. One pull out bed is a queen another a convertible couch. Dining room table and chairs are new and gorgeous. Everything is new. You can see the living room furniture a little bit one picture. You will find this is one of the nicest furnished rental homes on the island.
