Waterfront, west facing, modernized fishermanâs cottage perched on the water.
Newly modernized cottage, 180° views âon the rocksâ at the mouth of the Kennebec River. Unique waterfront property, fishing, sunsets, beaches, 16x32sqft deck, outdoor shower, dock & deep water mooring.
We have never been to a more beautiful location! The cottage was spotless and fully stocked with everything needed! The views are breathtaking from every room and balcony. The area is very friendly and peaceful. Absolutely perfect vacation!
Views were wonderful. Sunset gorgeous every night. You will want to bring kayaks or an inflatable boat with a motor to putter around with if you have one. If not you will simply relax on the deck. Wonderful stay
Our stay at this exceptional spot was heavenly. The house is peaceful, beautiful, and stylishâvery Maine-y, too! Should one get antsy relaxing on the spacious deck, there is just enough to do in the area. Beach access is provided. The owners are readily available if assistance is needed (we texted). I can't imagine a better stay. Incredible views!
Booked this with another couple. The place was exactly as advertised, a maritime cottage over the water. High and low tides changed the views and smells. This was exactly what we were looking for in a quiet getaway.
We had a fabulous week in this amazing cottage on the rocks. The home is a special place; well appointed with everything you need. Communicating with the hosts was easy and they were attentive to our needs. Thank you David and Jenepher for creating this beautiful spot!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our comfortable and relaxing stay in the cottage, perched on the water. We look forward to our return and the best view in Georgetown, Maine! Thank you!
If there is a better place with better hosts on the Coast of Maine we have yet to find it! David and Jenepher are wonderful and this cottage is fabulous! As Jenepher said 'you can't get any closer to the water without being in it'! We had a great week here and hope to be back next year.
The place is very peaceful and soothing. It was a totally relaxing experience for us. It has a village feel to it. On the first day, a local fisherman caught a large tuna and it was a highly festive occasion as everyone in the village came out to greet the boat when it arrived. The folks where incredibly welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this special spot on the sea.
We loved our stay at On the Rocks. You can't get closer to the water without getting in it. Glorious scenery, including nightly sunsets; stylish setting; fully equipped kitchen; cheerful vibe; access to iconic beaches, steamed lobsters, Bath and Brunswick. Sorry to leave.
There was constant activity directly next to our rental that was a distraction from relaxation. A boat under repair with daily vehicles creating noise including saws, drills and cranes. There was never a dull moment and we looked forward to dull vacation.
You know how when you find someplace so fabulous you almost donât want to leave a review so that the rest of the world wonât find it so you can be sure to be able to get a reservation for next time?
Yeah - itâs like that.
And the owners are pretty phenomenal too.
Beautiful spot with amazing views of the Kennebec, Fort Popham, and lots of comings and goings on the water. The weather changes as quickly as the tides with fog, cool breezes, and full sun. It is a glorious spot to avoid the heat just 10 miles inland. It is a terrific launch pad for walks, beaches, bike rides, food, and tourist spots.
We loved the setting, and the cottage is beautiful, bright (even on one day of torrential rain), very artfully renovated, fully equipped, very clean, and has comfortable beds.
Wonderful in every way. The house is beautifully designed, comfortable and clean. The view, spectacular. The beaches are close by and unspoiled and the surrounding area offers much to explore.
Spectacular view! It was great spending time relaxing on the deck and catching the sunsets. On rainy days we put together puzzles provided with the rental. We opened up the front and back door and had a wonderful breeze through the cottage. The outdoor shower was great and the kitchen was equipped with many cooking tools.
The days with a land breeze brought Stable Flies that bit our ankles; those days Popham Beach was a better choice than nearby Reid State Park. David and Jenny were kind, communicative hosts.
What can we say about our stay other than âwowâ, the setting is fantastic and screams âMaine.â
Everywhere you look thereâs another stunning view. Sunsets are amazing, watching the tide come in and out from the deck (afternoon cocktail in hand), watching gulls and terns diving into the water for their dinner. It all adds up to one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever takenâŠ
Jen and Dave are wonderful, welcoming hosts and extremely quick to respond to any and all questions. âOn the Rocksâ is well appointed with all the basics of cottage living: pots, pans, utensils, dinnerware, etc⊠Charcoal and propane grills were greatly appreciated as were the washer and dryer. The outdoor shower is AMAZING after a day spent on the beach at Reid State Park.
We'll definitely return for another stay!
