We absolutely loved this property! The beach was beautiful, the home was wonderful, and the neighborhood was so sweet!! we couldâve sat on the front deck for hours!! The home was so beautifully decorated, and so cozy! We absolutely love this place and Iâve already talked about coming back! Thank you for a wonderful experience and family vacation!!
We had a wonderful stay here! We had our children and grandchildren and one puppy. It was comfortable, right on the beach, easy drive to downtown Portland and the nearby lighthouse! It's a particularly fun beach with lots of different boats coming and going and lots of rocks, crabs, shells, seaweed, driftwood, etc! John was a terrific host - even got a fire going for us one evening! We loved it! One sidenote: it is on the second floor so bring a baby gate if you have little ones.
Very nice house. You have the whole 2nd floor with 3 bedrooms and 1 full bath and powder room by 1st floor entrance. Watch the steps as they change heights part of the way up. Great views from the porch.
I think my favorite part of my stay on Willard Beach was the early morning sunrise and the sound of the surf outside. Amazing way to start each day.Owner was easy to connect with and quick with answers although we didn't have much. Everything was pretty simple and working well. Check in was simple and relaxed. Kitchen is on the smaller side but plenty for our group of three. Grill was on the wide second floor deck that overlooked the ocean. Washer and drier worked good. No dishwasher. There's a staircase up to the second floor that might be a little tough for a very elderly guest but we liked getting that higher view of the beach and ocean.Overall, fantastic location and we had a wonderful week.
The house is everything as described plus so much more. The family had the most incredible time and the people we met added so much to our trip. It was perfect.
The location of this property is outstanding. It is right on the beach on the Casco Bay. The host was very kind and very knowledgeable of the Portland area, which was very helpful. The house is old, but very clean. The only issues we had were there wasn't a coffee maker and the garbage the garbage disposal in the kitchen sink was broken. It was a perfect place to stay and enjoy the beautiful Maine Coastline.
This balcony and view was the best! The sunrise (albeit reallllly early) is stunning!! Iâd wake up, watch sunrise and head back to bed. You can hear the ocean waves from the house. Sandy beach with families that come during the day. The owner lives downstairs, and is very nice and helpful. Beds were comfortable. Kitchens very small, but suitable for our needs. I would 100% stay here again if in the area! Great value for 3 bedrooms! The house is vintage, still it has the normal older house style you would expect. But so much character. Clean and comfortable and close to downtown Portland, the Headlight lighthouse etc but you feel miles away!
The pictures absolutely do not do this place justice! Very charming and the beach is amazing! The house has everything you need and has amazing views. itâs very close to downtown Portland and there is some great restaurants right in the neighborhood. The host John is super friendly and accommodating. Absolutely plan to stay here again!
We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The location, the view, the property- we could not have enjoyed it more! The property is located at the end of a quiet street overlooking the beach as shown. The area is very safe and peaceful. House and property look exactly like the pictures (but even better and more beautiful in person). We would love to come back and spend more time!
The property is right on the beach. It's absolutely serene. There is off road parking, which I appreciated. A nice fully functional little kitchen. There were six of us: me, my husband, our 15 and 19 year old kids, and my folks. It fit us so perfectly. The kids shared a room, but had their own beds. We cooked and enjoyed a lovely breakfast there the morning we left, while enjoying the ocean view from the balcony. The host made everything so easy for us. We will definitely be going back.
We loved our stay here. Everything was clean. My kids loved the toy blocks and running out on the beach. There is a playground nearby on the beach. Views are amazing and the area is very quiet. Great vacation!
The house was perfect for 5 friends enjoying a girlâs weekend. The view of Casco Bay from the deck was beautiful! The living room was very comfortable for conversation and games. The bedrooms are good sized with comfortable beds. It was a short ride into the heart of Portland where we had many delicious meals. Communication with John was excellent. He answered all of our questions in a timely manner.
Most beautiful and wonderful stay! The house was amazing and had everything you could possibly want. John was an incredible host and made every accomodation you could imagine, just the most lovely experience. You are literally on the beach and can hear the Ocean all day. Could not have asked for a better trip or host! Thank you John!
AMAZING LOCATION, GREAT STAY, KITCHEN COULD USE SOME TLC
Amazing location and view. Lots of space, huge deck. After our stay, I emailed John with some suggestions, mostly about the kitchen, which would greatly benefit future renters. I hope he follows through. But don't let this put you off, it is unique opportunity to be on the water in one of the Portland area's most trendy enclaves.
This location is EVERYTHING!!! Right on the beach, cozy accommodations with spacious bedrooms was perfect for the 4 of us - with the 3rd bedroom, we could've included another couple! Host John was lovely!!!
I have lived here at Willard Beach for the last 39 yrs. It is a wonderful place and I really love sharing it and my home with all the Great family's I have met over the years. It is a magical place no matter the time of the year.
When you walk off the street into the front yard you will have the answer to that question? The first thing you see is a small neighborhood beach. At one end you see the historic Fort Preble, which is now Southern Maine Comm Coll. Then you see the Spring Point light house. To the right you look past at least 6 islands directly in front of you and then at the end of the beach you see the historic Willard Fish Shacks. These were used by local fishermen for over a 100 years. not to mention the various pleasure boats mooring off the beach. I have lived here since 1983 and expect with a little luck and some help from above that this will be the only place that I ever live, winter or summer, spring and fall everyday is special here at Willard Beach
This is the only rental home in the neighborhood that is located "Right on the Beach". You walk off the porch and right onto Willard beach. There is a great enclosed area for the little ones.
