We've booked this house multiple times for our family crabbing trip and it's an ideal location for that and we love being right on the jetty. Gary was very helpful and easy to get a hold of if we needed anything.

Amazing place to stay with some incredible views. Couldn't of picked a better place to stay. Everything you could need from crab pots and a boiler to clam rakes and guns.Great communication as well. Will definitely be back.

Very nice and spacious.

The house is huge and the view is beautiful!! We had a very nice stay. Bonus is you can walk to the Rogue and the various shops that are close by, even the Aquarium if you wanted.

Happy as a clam

Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of books, games and puzzles. Nice to have a game room in the garage with the pool table, table tennis and foosball.

Beautiful view and great location.

Very warm on third floor, a few other minor glitches but overall a good stay. Detailed info on amenities and area outlined in a couple of binders. Owner and caretaker were readily available and easy to contact. There is a lot of activity choices both in the home and in the community. Would definitely stay here again.

Spacious rental

Huge place for our group of family. Everyone got their own space to stay and great kitchen space. Phenomenal views from bedrooms and living space. Quiet area. Game area in garage with washing machine and dryer.

Fantastic stay!

Great house with a great location. Right on the jetty for fishing and access to south beach. Very close to the boat ramp. Driveway big enough for multiple vehicles and a boat. The house is fantastic for families to gather. We loved being able to watch the seals play in the water from the kitchen table. We would definitely come back!

Great Communication, Cleanliness, and Location

Despite a short and at times stressful stay (our first vacation with our one-year-old!), our overall trip was a success. The only significant issue we encountered was the top floor becoming almost unbearably hot, which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable. However, everything else was fantastic! Communication with both the owner and cleaning provider was excellent, and check-in and check-out were a breeze. If we return to Newport, this home will definitely be on our list for future stays.

Great House, great location.lots of stairs

This is a lovely house in a wonderful location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay but think it won't be long before all of us are unable to climb the many steps involved. Unfortunately the stool in one of the bathrooms was non-functional but fortunately there was another bathroom just across the hall. Also, the housekeeper failed to put bedding on the bunkbeds so we had to scrounge around and find sheets for one of them. This house would be especially appropriate for either a large family or two families traveling together but worked well for four old ladies, too.

Thank you Linda for the comments. The house is three stories so there are stairs. There is an apartment on the ground floor for persons who don't want to navigate the stairs very often. Unfortunately the housekeeper and guests were not able to connect over the brief stay of Linda's group about a good time to come and check on the toilet. When the housekeepers arrived for the cleaning, the toilet was operating correctly. I'm sorry we didn't hear about the sheet problem but we would have been quick to check it out and deal with it. Perhaps Linda was referring to a sleeper couch which is next to the bunk room. It is not made up but the sheets and blankets are in an open walk-in closet and labeled for the bed.

We were ripped off!!

This place was not clean when we got there, not filthy, just not sparkling. We were told they were keeping our entire deposit to clean the carpets etc. This is my worst experience renting a home at the beach ever, and it was the weekend my father passed away......nice....

We have had a lot of large groups and have never kept a full deposit before. We hated to do it, especially because of the circumstances. However, there was tobacco spit jars all over the house, some spilled and our carpet was permanently ruined in two places. There was also smoking and other things. Perhaps Beth had to leave the house before the rest of the group and maybe she did not see the condition of our home at the end.

Happy Clam Kept Us Happy!

The Happy Clam is an amazing location and a lovely home. Our group of 9 ladies was very comfortable there. One had a little trouble with the stairs but had a great time anyway. We had a card game going at the main dining table, a puzzle going at the table in the loft and liked that sense of still being in the same room. We were together for great meals at that dining table and got to watch 7 sailboats during one dinner. There were pleasant walks right from the front door. We went out to a pier halfway out in the bay, and also walked down the road to the south jetty. We saw killer whales heading into the bay on that last walk! The beach by the jetty is quiet and uncrowded. Even watching the bridge and the vehicles UP THERE was fascinating. We got out a little to antique stores or to pick up something we needed, but we were quite content to "live" in that wonderful house for a couple days. Thanks for sharing it. Everyone enjoyed it so much, I do expect you will here again from some of us in the future.

Beautiful views

House was beautiful with great views of the bay. Loved walking to the pier and watching the crabbers. The house had everything we needed to go crabbing and clamming, but we ran out of time. House had everything we needed.
