Rustic and Private Capetown Ranch School House

Our quaint farmhouse is located on a working cattle ranch in Capetown, California. This house is just 15 miles from the beautiful Victorian Village, Ferndale. A 25 minute drive over the countryside. Our home is the most western point in the "Golden State", California. You will be surrounded by beautiful scenery with horses and cattle found out every window of the house. It is the perfect rustic and private getaway for the entire family. Amazing scenic views can be found right in our backyard.
Our family homesteaded in Capetown in the 1800's and the property has stayed in our family ever since. Our ranch is surrounded by private ranches for 10+ miles in all directions. It is less than an hour drive to the Redwoods and only 3.6 miles to Cape Mendocino, the gateway to the Lost Coast. Here is where you will find beach access to one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. In the summer months, the Mattole Valley is warm and full of sun. Many people bike this area and it is a treasure to those that have been here.Enjoy the view of the sunset over the mouth of the Bear River, as seen from the house. This stay is perfect for someone looking for a quiet country getaway for yourself or the entire family. It is the perfect place for anyone needing to step away from the real world and have full privacy. It is a one-of-a-kind rustic and private stay that will have you never wanting to leave.
Along with experiencing the quiet beauty of what Capetown has to offer, we will also provide you with the password to our WiFi, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Youtube TV. We have monitor heating that heats the house up quickly. The master bedroom has a California King sized bed, the guest bedroom has a queen sized bed, and the pull out couch in the living room has a queen size mattress. There is a fire pit and seating for you to enjoy the blissful evenings outside while having a perfectly clear view of the stars. Prior to checking in we will provide you with the combination to the lock box located on the front door which holds the key to get inside.
Guest access:
There is plenty of parking directly on the property.
The house is located on the ranch and the land surrounding the property is private. We ask that you please do not cross any fence lines or gates that you see. With that being said please do enjoy walking/biking along the main roads and enjoy the views of the river and the animals.
Other things to note
There is a no pet policy, though we may be able to accommodate your pet. Another point to note is that our house is located 15 miles from food and gas so be sure to have plenty when heading out to the house!
