Welcome to the north shores of Michigan, bordering Glen Lake and down the road from Lake Michigan. This beautiful countryside is lovely any time of the year, with fishing, sailing, and paddleboarding in the summer, and ice skating, snowmobiling, and skiing at Big Squaw Mountain in the winter.

Upon entry, you'll be met with a bright interior and a feeling of welcome throughout the space. Make yourself at home and relax on the plush furniture, carry on a great conversation in the living area, or watch your favorite movies on the large TV. Hobby chefs will love preparing grand meals and lake picnic snacks in the sophisticated kitchen, equipped with stainless steel appliances and a formal dining table.

Find the epitome of comfort in the main bedroom, which boasts a gorgeous view of the lake and a lovely en suite bathroom.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 6 vehicles.

Dock details: Guests may use the dock for sun bathing, or launching kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddle boards. No watercraft are provided. Due to shallow water, motorized boats cannot be docked at the property.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Beautiful spot, clean cottage

There was a lot to like about this place. It was very clean and in a great location. The sleeping bear heritage trail is accessible right across the street, and it’s an easy ride to the dunes. It was not particularly quiet, as there is a big family nextdoor, but there were no issues. We would definitely rent here again.

Great, private neighborhood to relax and enjoy the nature all around us in the Sleeping Bear dunes area. Everything you need in the interior of the home.

We stayed at the property Aug 20-27, great location on Little Glen Lake and the nearby dunes. My husband and 6 year old son slept on the bottom bed of the bunk bed. After 3 nights in the bed, both my husband and son had 50 to 100 small bites on their legs and body due to bedbugs/fleas. They had to throw out their clothes and pillows. You would think the owners would have cleaned the bedding between stays, Gross. Would not recommend.

My Week at the Shorebird

This is a recently remodeled home. It is very nice and comfortably sleeps several people. The house is easy to find, and it is on the lake. The dune climb, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, and downtown Glen Arbor are all within 10 minutes. It is absolutely worth renting, and I highly recommend it. I suggest providing some better kitchen knives, as well as adding shelves to the refrigerator door. This is lofty suggestion, but a platform on the dock makes an already great place, even better. It allows sun bathers to go right into the lake. I hope this helps. You should definitely rent the shorebird.

Lovely cottage

We have rented many cottages in the past but this one has to be hands down the best equipped we've stayed in. The owner seems to have anticipated all your needs. Having linens and towels supplied was a great perk. This cottage has a wonderful view of Little Glen Lake. Our only problem was internet connection since we had the wrong password and had to wait until the second day to get the correct one. Otherwise, it is a beautiful place and our whole family truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

Loved this house on Little Glen Lake.

We had a great time with our whole family. We loved being on this gorgeous lake! The house was very nice with a fully equipped kitchen and comfy beds! We would definitely stay here again!

Great location and surprisingly spacious

We had 6 adults and an infant and the place was perfect for us. Wonderful access to the lake and the garage was massive. I only wish they had a garage door remote which we could have used while staying there but that was a minor inconvenience.

Great location to access the Dune Heritage Trail. Great place to hike or bike.

Some of the household amenities need to be updated. The lake is shallow and has a sandy bottom, which is great for kids. We loved it!

Perfect home for our week on Glen Lake with our family of 6. Home has all the essentials. Loved the fire pit area to have s’mores too.

Quality home

Home is in very good shape, nice garage, nice deck with charcoal grill and table/chairs, nice yard. Large sandbar at water access. End of dock has 1-2 foot water depth, so ideal for waders, but swimmers must go out 20-30 yards for deeper water. Not ideal for inboard boats, but pontoons/jet skis/most outboards will not have trouble. Owner is polite, helpful, very responsive.
