This peaceful escape is a place to bring families together and make memories! Located in Eastern San Diego County, enjoy the space and privacy that comes with country living, while being less than 25 miles from San Diego's famous beaches. The Rockin' View Ranch features a serene mountain view while enjoying the beautiful pool, always-hot jacuzzi, and animal encounters with our resident alpaca, mini donkey, and lop bunnies. This spacious 4200 sq ft house has room for everyone with lots to do!!! Our peaceful retreat features a mini ranch with a mini barn, complete with a miniature donkey, miniature alpaca, dwarf goats, and lop bunnies. Enjoy simple ranch pleasures like collecting fresh eggs from our chickens for breakfast. The themed bedrooms feature different farm animals and are all beautifully decorated. The Game Room is fully stocked and we also have outdoor yard games such as a ladder toss and a corn hole game available as well. We just added a brand new pickleball court complete with a comfortable area with chairs and benches for spectators to watch the game! Our large, saltwater pool is solar heated year round, but can also be heated with propane to a toasty 85 degrees upon request for an additional fee. (Fee changes monthly based on base temperature and propane rates, please message for details.) There is SO MUCH to do, you may not want to leave. But if you do decide to venture out, we have many nearby attractions, and are not too far from some landmarks as well:

We are a 10 minute drive from the Viejas Outlet Shopping Center, and 10-15 minutes from several local casinos. Our base rate includes up to 8 guests. Additional guests (up to 16 total) are welcome for an extra guest fee of $25/guest per night. This allows our property to be more affordable to smaller groups and covers the extra utilities and cleaning that come with hosting more people.

This is our second time staying here. This house is amazing! There’s something for everyone! The pool, hot tub, and spacious yard are peaceful and relaxing! The animals are an added bonus! The hosts are very communicative and welcoming. Much attention has been given to stock the kitchen making it easy to cook a meal.

Another incredible stay

Stayed here for the second time and loved it just as much as the first. This is our favorite rental house, and we’ve stayed in many :) Perfect place for a family — great pool and hot tub, fun game room, outdoor playset, animals to feed, etc. Can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic Vacation Home for Families or Friends

I was looking for a fun place to stay with my family of 10 to celebrate my son's high school graduation. The ages ranged from 18 to 74 and EVERYONE had a wonderful time. We planned activities on San Diego for the week, but immediately after checking in, nobody wanted to leave. The house had everything we needed. Best hosts ever. Best house ever. You can feel the love and care that went into making the place an enjoyable experience. I hope we get to go back again one day.

Amazing stay!!!

This home was the best vacation home we have ever stayed in. Property was spotless, so many little touches to make you feel at home. Pool was so fun and huge game room was a hit with all. We do a family trip each year always going to a new property but we’ll definitely return to this home! Wish I could give it 10 stars.

Wonderful vacation spot for a group of people!

This property had many fun things included with it. The animals were so adorable and very friendly. The pool was nice and warm and the kids had loads of fun swimming. All of the rooms were nice, clean, and very cozy. Our whole group enjoyed playing all of the games in the game room. I would recommend this house to any group of friends or family who are looking for a fun time.

So much to rave about ! Barn animals were the hilite- great entertainment for kids of all ages and can't beat fresh eggs every morning. Pickleball courts were good, a little cool for swimming but enjoyed the hot tub! Owners were very responsive and provided great recommendations Close enough to hiking and downtown! Would recommend

Loved this property!

I rented this property to celebrate my father-in-law's 98th birthday. The house is well stocked and the beds are very comfortable. The animals were a big hit! The game room has something for everyone! Kim has been delightful to work with!

Great place for family group

We had a big family vacation and this property was perfect for all ages. The kids loved feeding the bunnies, donkey and alpaca. Great pool and plenty of room to play . Our family kept remarking how perfect the place was. Our host was very helpful and thoughtful. We couldn’t have picked a better place. Close to San Diego activities but far enough out of town to have plenty of private space. Great restaurant nearby Janet Montana’s.

All the little touches

This is a lovely home that would be a great stay just for the pool, animal encounters, games and ability to spread out and be together. It is a FABULOUS rental, however, because of all of the amenities. Chris and Kim have thought of everything. From multi-type chargers at every bedside to thoughtful labeling and logical organizing of anything you could need we felt completely at home.

Spring Break Vacay

From the time we booked to the time we checked out everything was perfect. Kim and Chris are amazing hosts and super responsive (Not that we needed anything). The entire property was awesome from the pool to the petting zoo! Felt like home away from. That is if you live on an awesome ranch with stunning views and all the creature comforts of a resort. Our kids didn’t want to leave the ranch for any of the activities that we had planned that were a short ride away (San Diego Zoo, Safari Park, etc.) Highly recommended for any size of family. Tons of room and activities for all ages!

Amazing home with something for everyone!

A fabulous home!! Kim and Chris are wonderful hosts and have taken great care to make sure their guests are comfortable! From the humongous couch to the outdoor seating, there was room for everyone. The beds were all comfortable with plenty of blankets and pillows! We have a large family and we’ve stayed in several homes….. this by far was everyone’s favorite! The pool, hot tub, game room and especially the animals, truly something for everyone. We will definitely be booking again!

Amazing house

The house, game room, outdoor activities, and animals were amazing. We stayed over Thanksgiving with three families with several kids between the ages of 9-16 and no one was ever bored. They loved feeding Tito, Lily, the bunnies, collecting eggs each morning, and checking on the goats. The house had everything you could possibly need, including three prong chargers if you forgot yours. The biggest compliment has to be that all the teenagers wanted to stay at the house when asked if we wanted to go back to San Diego for the stay or stay at the house. Kim was responsive throughout and a great host. We will definitely stay here again if we are in San Diego again.

Amazing home

This place was incredible. I’ve stayed in lots of rental homes and this is one of my favorites. My 7 year old said it was better than Disneyland (which we also visited on the same trip), and he cried when he had to say goodbye to the animals at the end of the stay. The house was bigger than we needed for our family, but we decided to stay there to take advantage of everything the house offered, and we’re so glad we did. The kids and adults all loved the pool, hot tub, game room, and animals. Kids also loved the little play structure outside, and adults enjoyed the massage chair :) House was clean, well organized, and beautiful. Hosts seem to have thought of everything - there are lots of thoughtful little touches throughout the house. They also were quick to respond when I had a couple of questions. We would ABSOLUTELY stay here again (my kids were begging to come back before we even left), and I highly recommend it to anyone else who is looking for a place in this area.

Family and Friends❤️

A big thanks to Kim and Chris for making our vacation perfect. We travel to the area every year to celebrate our grandson's birthday. Chris met us at the house and gave us a walk through which was very helpful. The pictures on the website are exactly what the house looks like! Yes, the table and couch are that big. Kim was very attentive to the cleanliness of the hot tub and pool as well as making sure all of our needs were met. We had some outings planned but ended up staying at the house the entire visit. The kitchen had everything we needed to make wonderful dinners along with the bbq and blackstone grill. There are so many things to mention which were amazing to find in a rental home. The decor, themed bedrooms, pool, hot tub, game room, farm animals, fresh eggs in the morning, outdoor area and the amazing peacefulness of the area. The kids had the best time in the pool, the large step, ledge area is great for the younger kids. We all had a great time and were sorry the week went by so quickly. Thanks for sharing your amazing home with so many families.

Family friendly vacation

First off, let me say I have nothing bad to say about this stay. Five stars all the way. Kim and Chris were amazing hosts and very communicative during our stay and very responsive for anything! We had 9 people in our group, and this home was very spacious and gave us individual rooms. There was plenty to do for the teenagers, adults, and toddlers! We got a mixture of sunshine and rain the week we were there but never felt like we were missing out on something. Pool, pool table, skee ball, shuffle board, plenty of board games, lawn games, a swing set, and a massage chair. Truly felt like we didn't need to leave the house. The animals at this home are a plus! We visited with the Alpaca,donkey, chickens, and rabbits. Had the option to get fresh eggs every morning! Loved getting a walk through of the house when we arrived. Very welcoming. I absolutely loved this experience 10 out of 10! We already started to see what other times this house might be available for our next trip!

Truly the Ultimate Family Getaway

If I could give this listing and the hosts 10 stars, I would. Our host’s were super responsive, kind, helpful, and thoughtful from the time we booked the trip on. The property was beautiful, clean, and well kept, the views were fantastic, and it felt like we rented a resort all for ourselves. Everyone loved the mini donkey, alpaca, goats, and chickens, they are so friendly and sweet and the daily fresh eggs were so yummy and such a lovely touch. The pool and hot tub were super nice and kept warm for us throughout our stay. We had a blast on the pickleball court, and truly, everything we might have forgotten our hosts provided (snacks, rice cooker, instapot, pool toys, outdoor toys, super fun games in the games room, all the way down to floss and hair ties in cute little jars in the bathrooms). The hosts gardens were also heavenly and available for harvesting fresh fruits, veggies, and herbs, and the kitchen was super lovely and easy to cook meals in with and for our family of 10. the bedrooms were well appointed with chargers and adorable themes. There was something for everyone including a playground for the little ones. Every single family member in my party high fived me for finding this listing and they all said it’s the best vacation rental we’ve ever stayed in. Also, it’s really close to a major highway that will take you to all points of interest.

AN AMAZINGGGGGG EXPERIENCE

Like NO OTHER! I’ve never stayed somewhere that literally felt like a home away from home. From the welcoming and check in process, touring the property, the accommodations provided, the space, and the amenities— absolutely BREATHTAKING! Kim and her husband outdid themselves with this beautiful home they put so much time, energy and love into, you can FEEL IT. This was our first time visiting Sesame Place all the way from Miami Florida, my family and I came to San Diego to celebrate my daughters 2nd birthday. I’m so glad we chose to stay here! They even provided a high chair and play pen for the infant that came along with us. The place was super clean and extremely comfortable! Any issue or question we had they were only a phone call or text away. I don’t have anything negative to say. But most of all, the ANIMALS WAS THE MOST AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE EVER! To have such close access to an alpaca, donkey, bunnies, goats, and chickens was so AMAZING! We even got to take fresh eggs from the chicken coop and use them for breakfast. I will never forget this experience and when I come to San Diego again they will always be my first choice! Don’t hesitate to book!

Best Family Week Ever

Our family of 5 couples and two small boys gets together the end of every July to hangout and visit. Of all the places we have stayed at, the Ranch is by far our favorite. In fact, we enjoyed it so much we plan to return next July! Where to start on how fabulous this place is, and how amazing the hosts are? The attention to detail and desire to provide a top notch experience is evident immediately. So many extras that aren’t required but are certainly appreciated abound throughout the house and grounds. The boys adored the Chicken Room. The youngest fell in love with one of the stuffed chickens. When Kim found out, she insisted he take it home. She found another like it on Amazon, and I Venmo’d Kim the cost of the replacement. This is the level of kindness, caring and individual attention demonstrated by the hosts. The well appointed kitchen was a dream to work in. Lots of grilling happened on the Blackstone and BBQ, too. The humongous dining table made it possible for all of us to eat at the same place, which was a very big plus for us. We could all hang out on the giant couch to watch a movie. Or, we could play all kinds of fun arcade games in the game room. Or play in the pool… so many things to do, we were never bored. We only left the Ranch to pick up groceries and ice. A completely delightful week, full of fun surprises of discovery while exploring the Ranch. So many wonderful memories made. Did I mention the massage chair?

We had the most amazing stay over sprinf break. Our kids enjoyed playing in the pool, playing with the bunnies and feeding the cute alpaca and donkey. House had a great playroom and massve couch for movies!

Hello fellow adventurers! My name is Kim. My husband, Chris, and I have raised our three kids in this amazing house for the past ten years. We love to travel, and have "taken notes" from the many places we have been and are adding our favorite special touches to hosting our own property. We hope you'll be blown away by our hospitality and all of the special things we do to make your stay memorable.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Ours is a unique property situated on 2.5 acres with lots of space where you can enjoy the serene views, the privacy and quiet of the neighborhood, and enjoy the beauty of the animals (both wild and domestic) that inhabit the property. We've had countless tent campouts in the backyard, late night swim sessions, hikes near our property, and nearby adventures...there are SO many we can recommend! We've gone from snow in the mountains 15 minutes from our house (rare, but it happens!) to the famous San Diego beaches which are 25 minutes in the opposite direction. We are excited to share our home with your family so you can create happy memories, just as we have!

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Our home is still close enough (about 25-30 minutes) to the airport and many San Diego landmarks to enjoy them easily, but far enough away to offer a lot of space and a "farm experience" to our guests that you wouldn't be able to find in the city.
