Lakefront Cottage sur le magnifique lac Opal ... plage de sable.

Le lac Opal est le premier lac tout-sport vierge du comté d'Otsego.

Eau claire, fond ferme et sans mauvaises herbes.

Le chalet se trouve sur une petite colline, face à l'ouest avec vue sur le lac Opal. Cela permet des matins frais et lents et de magnifiques couchers de soleil.

La salle du petit-déjeuner est fermée par un écran / verre et donne sur le lac Opal, offrant un réveil matinal merveilleux pour toute la famille.

La grande cour latérale boisée offre de l'intimité et l'endroit parfait pour les barbecues et les feux de camp.

Le lac Opal est propre, clair et frais. Excellent pour la baignade, le ski nautique, la navigation de plaisance, le canoë, le kayak, le ponton et la pêche.

Les chiens sont les bienvenus - 2 max. Des frais s'appliquent. Les chiens doivent être tenus en laisse en tout temps à l'extérieur. Laisser les chiens seuls dans Tattrie's Cottage est bien, mais ils doivent être mis en cage et silencieux.
Si votre chien a nagé, veuillez le sécher avant de le retourner dans le chalet.

Best kept secret that beats Torch Lake without a boat!

We LOVED this rental. The water was clear and blue- just like at Torch Lake. But no large waves and easy to kayak. The trip to the island was such a cool adventure! Had all the utensils needed, plenty of towels and even dish soap/hand soap/paper towels and TP were provided. We had more beds than we did people, meaning we could really spread out! We hope to make this return next year with my in laws.

Beautiful Outside Areas, Could use a little updating

The lake and view were beautiful. The outside firepit area was awesome for sitting outside ad enjoying the evenings. The house could use some updates (mattresses, comfortable furniture, and maybe a bigger shower...we r tall people and it was tough using the low shower head). Overall the week we stayed was good!!

Great rustic getaway on a quiet lake

Beautiful, peaceful setting! Cottage is rustic but not different than advertised - with lots of fans there we didn't miss AC too much. The hosts live right next door and were very responsive the few times we needed them. They proactively communicated around an issue with the fridge before our arrival and took care of it. The lake is definitely a highlight. Water was crystal clear and had good fishing as well. The canoe and boat were great for getting to the good bass spots. The beach needed some cleanup when we arrived but had a nice sandy bottom with some rocks under what we raked out. It is worth noting that the water level was up during our stay versus the pictures on the listing so there was no real sandy beach above the water line to play in.

Best stay ever

My family enjoyed the stay at the cabin a lot. We were fishing, kayaking, swimming, hiking around the lake. The cabin had enough space to accommodate our group of 6. The lake is beautiful. We will defiantly come back! Thank you Philip so much for letting us to stay at your cabin.

It was very relaxing and we enjoyed the lake and also being able to sit around the bonfire. It was very peaceful. The cabin was no frills and loved it. Had family visit and they loved it also. Check in went smoothly.

Family Vaca on the Lake

What an awesome week at Tattrie’s Cottage! We wanted a place to stay for our family of six (4 teens) with a place to dock our boat so we could play on the lake. This was perfect! Opal Lake is beautiful and the cottage was 15 steps away. Everything we needed to cook meals was provided including pots, pans, dishes, and a charcoal grill. The cottage was close to Gaylord so very easy for us to run there for activities or groceries. Plenty of sleeping space and comfortable beds. One small bathroom and shower but certainly enough for a cottage. Would not hesitate to rent Tattrie’s again as owners were very easy to access and made sure everything was set!

Cottage life- on the lake

We expected a traditional lake cottage. Exactly what we found. Not fancy, but remarkably clean for the type of use it gets! An amazingly quiet and beautiful lake. Open to water sports but not a big, noisy, party lake. Clean lake with a sandy bottom, (not weedy) good fishing too! Our teens had plenty to do. Cottage had all of the essentials. Great vacation get away! Thanks.

Perfect oldfashioned cottage on super beautiful, quiet Opal Lake.The views are exceptional. Enjoyed the peaceful vacation. perfect location. Traveled to Macinac Island one day, so close to many popular towns and lakes. Gaylord has so much to do!

Beautiful property right on crystal clear lake. Fantastic!!

We stayed with our dogs and had an amazing time swimming, fishing and lots of wonderful walks! The owners are great! Have almost everything you would need to enjoy a family vacation right on the lake. Beautiful views, great fishing and all the amenities of home. We will definitely be coming back.

What a great place we will be back

Having grown up in Gaylord I have known about Opal Lake all my life. Now we have spent two wonderful weeks in Tattrie's Cottage and look forward to our return. The owners are wonderful neighbors and if you have concerns they can take care of them. We had family visit most days and sitting in the yard watching the sunset was one of our favorite pastimes.We had our dog (lab) and she thought that swimming was great.

Always a great time

We have rented Tattrie's cottage a number of times over the years. We have never had anything close to a bad experience on any of our vacations. I think this was our 4th time renting and we plan to return every year. Opal lake is northern Michigan's best kept secret and Tattries cottage is the perfect place to enjoy the area. The cottage is always clean, sleeps plenty and has everything you could want. Some people enjoy the out of state escape vacation. I personally love driving a couple hours and having my vacation start when I walk in the door. If you are expecting a 5 star resort with pool attendants and maids, room service etc, this is not the place for you. It is a cottage, a cute perfect cottage in an great location. I have been coming to Opal lake since I was a child, I dreamed of retiring or living on this lake when I grew up. Tattries gives me the opportunity to live that dream every year I visit. My wife and kids have fallen in love as I did. See you next year.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY!

We very much enjoyed our week long stay at Tattrie's Cottage. There is nothing wrong with the bathroom. It is a small, single shower, but it has a curtain rather than a door, so there is elbow room, although the shower head is low for taller people. The bathroom itself is plenty big. Everything that you could possibly want was supplied. The charcoal grill is a nice big grill. Although there is no air conditioning, there are fans in every room. Still, it is rustic, which is not for everyone, but we found it to be charming. The water was nice and boat traffic was to a minimum. The kids loved jumping off the end of the dock, which is shallow. We also enjoyed the canoe and fishing boat, as well as the sunsets. Nice that they also had plenty of chairs for around the campfire.

Wonderful family memories !

Our whole family including daughter , son-law & now 2 grandchildren , vacationed at this cottage for 4 summers & LOVED IT ! The lake is beautiful , so quiet & peaceful . Everything you want for an "UP NORTH COTTAGE " . And YES .... It is rustic ! That is the charm ! Nobody loves "CUSHY " more than myself , but the serenity you get from this place is a great MIND CLEANSE for a week ! We are very sad that we won't be able to come back yr after yr . Our family DOG situation has grown due to my daughters family also getting one & I was not aware of the 2 dog MAX & aug of 2013 we brought more than allowed . This place will always be one of my top memories , my grandson was 4 months with our first visit . The owners are wonderful & right next door , if you have a problem . We always felt guilty that we didn't sign the "visitors book " to let them know how nice it was . Because you cannot go wrong with this cottage if you like it peaceful & WE DO ! Maybe one day just my husband & I can have a little get away of just our own !

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Opal Lake is just south of Gaylord and within a three hour drive of most of Southeast Michigan. Gaylord is still like a small town in many ways, but large enough to offer restaurants, shops, movies and other conveniences within a few minutes of the lake. Gaylord is centrally located and many Northern Michigan Highlights are within an hour of Tattrie's Cottage. As well, some of the nations prime fly fishing is found in the Au Sable and other rivers head-watered in Otsego County.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

This is a lakefront cabin, so the lake is the prime focus. The lake is small enough and remote enough to maintain that Up North atmosphere and yet large enough to enjoy boating, skiing and all water sports. Peace and quiet in God's Country: Northern Michigan. Life on Opal Lake is good.
