Enjoy the sunset over the Lake in our cozy & clean 2-Bedroom / 1-Bath cabin with authentic stone masonry fireplace in the Living room and cute Kitchenette. This unit is a "twin" of another 2-Bedroom unit in the same cottage. There's a wall and lockable door between the two. Rent them both and have the 4-Bedroom, 2-Bath cottage to yourselves.

Was right across street from a beautiful lake! Cute kitchen, no stove or dishwasher, but still very simple and clean. Beds very comfy and nice fireplace.
We had a nice stay. We brought our pontoon and enjoyed cruising the lake. Also paddlborded on the lake. The cabin has the necessities. Bed was comfortable.
It was clean, beautiful views of the lake, .small and quaint, the only issue was the wifi didn't work. But we were busy great walking, biking, kayaking.
It was an easy find. The cabin was so nice for how small it was. The dock across the street was AWESOME, with four kayaks and a fire pit. What more can you ask for?! My only negative thought was no AC just two small fans, they got the job done but a small window unit would be a great addition for the cabin. Will deff be back to that cabin again!
The inside appears recently redone and clean. Great little place for two people to stay while golfing in the area. Would be very tight for more than two people. A rustic place with a small shower, coffee maker, small microwave, nice streaming capable TV, fireplace, and comfy beds. Not sure if it has AC.
The people were friendly, the cabin had a beautiful working fireplace we didnât get to use because it was July. Could use some soundproofing between the two sides of the cabin. The lake was across the road and they offered free use of kayaks from their dock.
Spent a couple nights in the area for family outing. I think some of the pictures of the water and lake are misleading the water front is across a semi busy road and railroad tracks and down a hill not as easy as accessable as portrayed. It worked for us but not a vacation destination for sure.
We enjoyed our stay. It was very clean inside which is the most important. It was very small though. The outside was not very nice. There was a pile of branches in the drive, the trimming had not been done in weeks. It was very hard to get across the road because it was so busy. Then you had to cross the railroad tracks and down many steps to get to the lake.
The lake is beautiful. It is across a road with traffic but amazing. The description said mini fridge but it didnât work and we had to buy ice everyday that melted and was a hassle. The carpet was dirty. A rustic stay but a decent value for the cost.
Very small place right on the highway so very noisy and dusty. Ok to sleep overnight but would not recommend extended stay. No ac so very hot in summer, not all windows would open. Few plugs for 2 small fans provided. Need to cross highway and railroad tracks to get to lake. Lake area was nice. No closets or dressers for clothes. Tiny bathroom with no exhaust fan. Was clean, easy to find.
Awesome spot beautifully renovated an free kayaks just awesome here
This place is beautufully renovated very clean awesome location an freekayaks to uae hard to pass this place up to stay .totally awesome place an owners are awseome as well
The cottage was clean and cute and we acknowledge the property is under renovation. The cabin entrance is not handicap accessible nor is the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable but the internet in most cases was not working. The state park beach down the road was perfect. We love Gaylord and would consider staying again if the renovations to the property were complete including the handrail to the porch.
Overall, it was an all right experience. It was a great economical option, however, the location was a bit less relaxing than what I hoped for.
Pros
-centrally located near Gaylord and the Otsego Lake State Park
-Lake view; you can access the lake via a dock across the road
-cost efficient; Iâm surprised how affordable this property was
-comfortable beds
Cons
-I have small children (ages 1 and 3), and this property was way too close to a 55 mph road for my comfort. I couldnât really relax and enjoy a bon fire with the constant traffic driving by in the front yard.
-no stove, and the only fridge was a wine fridge.
-no AC - itâs not a problem if you are visiting 10 months out of the year; however, it may impact the comfort of your stay if you visit in July or August
Tad & Maia are lifelong residents of Gaylord. We raised our 4-children in the house we built together over 26-years ago, moving in on our wedding night. Tad's an Architect & Builder and Maia works for the State DOC. If you see her, please say hello and thank her for how comfy you slept last night with clean sheets & fresh linens.
The cottage was built around 1948 and has the original stone masonry fireplace as its center piece.
