OUTDOORS BUILT TO ENTERTAIN
The expansive, private backyard is landscaped with palm trees and anchored by a large grotto style swimming pool complete with misters! Lounge in the shade of the covered patio with your favorite team playing on the patio tv, catch some rays on the pool loungers, or set the vibe by the Koi pond at the outdoor living room with the fire table and peaceful waterfall sounds. In the colder months, take a dip in the brand new, state of the art hot tub. Host a barbecue with the fully equipped gourmet grill (stocked with mini fridge, ice machine, and blender) and outdoor eating area for 10 or mix-up some cocktails for all-day happy hour at the custom grotto bar (also stocked with mini fridge, ice machine, and blender). Too keep you cool on those summer days we've got you taken care of with a powerful outdoor misting system that fully encapsulates the covered patio, outdoor eating area, and outdoor living room! If you prefer, connect via Bluetooth to our speaker system, outfitted both in the home and various locations around the backyard. While the grill sizzles, challenge friends and family to a few rounds of cornhole or ladder ball on the lawn. Lamp posts keep the areas warmly lighted and an outdoor fireplace and firepit complete your evening ambiance.

*Please note: the pool waterfall is not currently operational. The pool is not heated.

INDOORS
The interior is comfortable with beautifully appointed southwest furnishings and offers plenty of room to spread out with separate living and family rooms. Gather around the tree on Christmas morning. Turn on the game or cozy up on the large sectional for family movie night on the massive smart TV in the family room. You will find a rec room, complete with a pool table, dart board, bar seating, sofas, a TV, and an extra full size fridge. Enjoy some quiet reading time, play games, or chat with friends time in the living room. The kitchen comes fully equipped with all the major appliances - including a crockpot, Keurig and blender - cookware, and serving utensils for cooking at home with ease. There's eat-in seating for five between the breakfast bar and bistro set. Enjoy family meals or grab a game from the cupboard for family game night at the dining room table with room for 8. Home essentials include central air-conditioning, free WiFi, and a washer and dryer. Family amenities include a Pack-N-Play and high chair, and both a queen blow up bed and queen rollout bed located in the queen bedroom closet.

Two guest rooms have access to a shared, full bathroom with double sinks. The primary guest room includes a smart TV and spacious en suite with a huge walk-in shower and direct patio access. The third bathroom is accessible from the outdoors.

THE AREA
Located within 30 minutes of all major attractions in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area with easy access to Loop 101 and 202. Mesa Riverview is 0.5 miles away and includes a Walmart for grocery needs, Starbucks, Chick-fil-a, movie theatre, & numerous restaurants (we like the Henhouse Café). Tempe Marketplace is also only 2.5 miles down the street with many additional essential stores and destination restaurants. Get to Cubs Spring Training in 2 minutes, ASU Sun Devils Stadium in 10 minutes, TPC Scottsdale in 20 minutes, and State Farm Stadium in 30 minutes. Riverview park is one mile away and provides ample outdoor space for walking dogs, strolling along the water way, or letting the kids burn off energy at the large playground.

Not as advertised!

Unfortunately, this rental completely missed the mark on all the things we prioritize when traveling. We ended up staying just one night before booking a much cheaper—and significantly nicer—place nearby. While the owners refused to offer a refund, we decided to cut our losses and chalk it up to a lesson learned.It honestly baffles me how this property has so many 5-star reviews. Based on our experience, we can’t help but question their validity.Here’s what we encountered:1.Unusable Pool – The pool was murky, cloudy green, and clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned in some time. It was not even remotely usable upon arrival. The listing photos were completely misleading.2.Poor Lighting – The house was dimly lit throughout, with some rooms using strange colored bulbs instead of brighter, functional lighting. It added to an already gloomy atmosphere.3.Cluttered & Overdecorated – The interior felt chaotic and cluttered. It was clear the photos online were curated carefully because what we walked into did not match the images at all.4.Lack of Cleanliness – Several areas had clearly been skipped during cleaning. There were dead flies on window sills and grime near wall outlets and beds.5.Expired Pantry Items – While a stocked pantry might be a perk for some, it’s only helpful if the food isn’t expired. There was old food in multiple places, which felt careless.Bottom line: we wouldn’t recommend this property and suggest looking elsewhere.

We believe this review is an attempt to discredit a property that has consistently received glowing, all five star reviews from many respectful guests. This guest had mentioned us just days prior to check in that they missed reading in our listing the pool is not heated. Not so coincidentally, they then arrived and immediately wanted to cancel their stay and receive a refund for some of the issues they cite here. We offered several times to immediately come out and resolve any issues and they refused. They then quickly decided to leave the property and began sending us messages insulting our home, our décor, and us as hosts. We’d like to address some of the claims they made and we would appreciate if our future guests could take the time to read it: The pool: it is professionally maintained on a weekly basis. We verified with our maintenance crew that it was cleaned and serviced shortly before arrival, as well as our cleaning crew and a property check done the day before checkin and the pool was both crystal clear and all chemicals tested to standard levels. When our guests let us know on Sunday after checking in that the pool was “unusable”, we offered to come on property immediately ourselves to address the situation (as our pool cleaners don’t work weekends) and they refused. We asked them to at least send photos so we could assess and send to our pool cleaner for service the next day and they refused to do that as well. Our communication on this matter was quick, kind, and understanding with the ultimate goal of doing whatever was needed to ensure their stay matched both their standards as well as ours. Within a half hour of their departure, we were able to convince our pool cleaner go take a look and take photos of the pool’s condition as well as a water test and it was both crystal clear and chemically standard. The only thing we discovered were some small leaves/yard debris that had blown onto the surface from the wind. The claim it was “green and murky” is a wild exaggeration, if not completely false. Poor lighting/décor: Guest said later they had been looking for a “minimal spa like experience”. While we have added a few pieces over time, it is clear that minimal is not the style of our home and it is difficult to offer condolences that they did not enjoy this when it is accurately shown in our listing photos. Many guests love the warm, eclectic style of the home—if that wasn’t to their taste, that’s simply a difference in aesthetic preference. We’ve taken the time to choose upgraded furnishings and decor from local art stores that are meant to provide a fun and interesting southwestern experience for our guests, and quite honestly we’ve never received anything but compliments in this regard. They were upset at one point in their messages that we had moved a piece of décor from one room to another, making the photos online “inaccurate”. They were also unhappy with our “theme” not being consistent because we have a koi pond on property. Speaking of the koi pond, we welcome our guests to feed the koi fish as a fun activity and leave instructions on how to do so if you please. They saw this as making them responsible for our fish after they had already left their pets at home because they didn’t want “work to do on vacation”. Cleanliness: We had the home deep cleaned by our extremely thorough cleaning team prior to this stay, and cleanliness is one of the most consistently praised aspects of our property. Again the guests refused to send us photos of any “flies” or “grime” and only sent us a photo of some dust behind the bed. While we’ve addressed that with our cleaners, we feel the usable surfaces of the home were very clean and these claims were again, baseless. To address the spoiled food, the guest is referring to individual coffee creamer packets they say had gone bad. We try to provide our guests with any small comfort we can think of (such as coffee supplies ready for the morning in case you got in late the night before). Unfortunately these may have expired before we realized it, but we are under no obligation to provide those things, they are extra. We also went our of our way to leave a welcome basket of margarita supplies and cold water in the fridge for their arrival. We try to go above and beyond to provide our guests with a great experience. We take a lot of pride in being good hosts and flexible with our guests. If the stay is not to their expectations for one reason or another, we would have been more than happy to work with them on a resolution that was fair for all. However, when a guests refuses our assistance in rectifying any grievances, will not provide us even photos and instead completely disrespects us and our home in private messages, our willingness to offer a refund diminishes. After several years of providing exceptional vacation experiences for our guests, this is certainly one of the more unfortunate situations we have encountered.
