Our stay at the red cottage

This cottage was very clean and comfortable for a restful stay. The lake view was amazing, especially the sunsets. The kayaking around the lake was excellent.

Clean and cozy

We stayed at the Cottage during the winter so I cannot say much about the lake but even in the winter, the lake view was amazing in the mornings while drinking my coffee! The cottage has a huge sliding glass door that over looks the lake so you can see everything right from the living room. The cleanliness and organization surpassed my expectations and the pictures do not do this place justice.The owner was also great with communication. She checked in with us to see if we needed anything but also let us enjoy our time without bothering us. I would definitely return to the Red Cottage again!

Weekend get away

The red cottage is a wonderful place right on the lake. It was very clean and well stocked with anything you’d need. The sunset was beautiful. I would recommend the red cottage to anyone looking for a nice affordable place to stay on a lake.

Great cabin for a little get away

Nice cabin on scenic lake. Enjoyed paddle boarding, fishing, camp fires and bbq. Very relaxing and easy stay.

Great experience!

We were there for only a couple of days as we were attending a family event nearby. We wished we had tacked on a couple more days to enjoy this home and the lake! Very clean, very well managed. Would stay there again!

Great Location for a Relaxing Getaway

We arrived to an impeccably clean cottage. The sunsets were incredible. The location was near the boat launch, which helped navigate to/from the dock with the boat. The hosts were responsive and helpful. Recommend this property, two nights were not enough!

Wonderful!

The lakefront cabin was even better than described in the listing. It’s only 20 steps to the lake from the deck and the view is spectacular! It was very quiet the week we stayed and so peaceful. The cabin is extremely clean and the kitchen very well stocked with items needed for cooking. The cabin is nicely furnished and the beds are comfortable. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back!

Perfect Lake Getaway

Excellent hosts, clear and timely communication (but not overbearing). Cottage is beautiful inside and out, boat dock in good condition and easy to tie up. Already planning on a return trip!

Beautiful sunsets

The lake view is wondeful. There are swans and ducks on the lake that swim by at sunset making that time of evening particularly lovely. The kitchen, dining and living room are open concept and open onto the back deck, which makes the space feel roomy.

If you always wished you could live on the lake (but it’s not happening in this lifetime) this is your place!! Even with an all vacation rainy forecast, sunset cottage managed to pull off a beautiful sunset to cap our lake living experience!

The Red Cottage: A Michigan Paradise Retreat

We were so lucky to find this place. My wife and I were looking for a quiet, cozy place with great amenities on a lake. We wanted to relax and enjoy some kayaking, fishing and amazing sunsets. The Red Cottage was it! The lake and town were great and the hosts were very attentive. They did a great job of making sure we had everything we needed for a wonderful visit.

Coldwater is our hometown, and we love sharing the area with our guests. Cathy can tell you about Tibbits Theatre, the local thrift stores or available recreational activities she enjoys like Kayaking or playing Pickleball. Ted enjoys golf and can direct you to the best courses around.
