Cozy lake front getaway set on a half acre lot, start your day with a cup of coffee while overlooking 450 acre all sports Palmer lake. Enjoy a swim with your guests in the sandy bottom swimming area or take the paddle boards or kayak for a ride down the shore line. Finish your day sharing stories around the picnic table or campfire. If you prefer to be indoors, the open concept living area will accommodate your group nicely.

Christmas Getaway

We enjoyed our Christmas getaway at the cozy lake house. Beautiful view, we watched eagles on the lake. Very clean. Great communication. Look forward to returning again.

Great Lake Vacation

Our family had a great time on Palmer Lake. Swimming off the dock is excellent and there is lots of room to play in the front yard. The house was clean and well-stocked. Owner was very helpful with the few questions we had. Highly recommend!

Time away

We enjoyed our family vacation on Palmer Lake. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, the location was beautiful on the water and very close to town. Our family had a wonderful time!

Great as always

Well maintained lake home that our family of 4 and our dog have now stayed at three times. Listing as described and it’s a convenient and reasonable ride from Chicago. Kids enjoyed the magic capital of the world (including a show), local ambiance, fishing, bonfires, and jumping in the lake. Hope to visit again!

Love Lake Life!

Beautiful lake house on the water

Beautifully kept cottage (updated) right on the water. Close to Coldwater and Sturgis. Perfect for boating, fishing, and swimming. Craig is awesome to work with! This was our 2nd time staying. Nice big yard with fire pit! The whole family had a blast!

House was great! Very clean, didn’t smell like a lake house! Very spacious, comfortable bed, everything you could need is available! Neighbors are very nice, yard is huge, flat and so green! We are already working on planning our return! Craig is GREAT!

My family and I had a wonderful week at this cottage. Right on the water. Cottage was very clean and updated with plenty of sleeping space and views. Craig was great to work with! Highly recommend!

Perfect Getaway

We were looking for someplace quiet, peaceful but with some lake fun! This place checked all the boxes. We had a fantastic time, swimming, enjoying the large yard, fishing, etc. The house was clean, kitchen was stocked with appliances, pots and pans better than anything we have ever stayed at! Our kids loved it and already have asked when we can go back!

Second time staying

We enjoyed our stay last year so much, we came again. Got to enjoy the water - swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing. Went to the parks in town, magic show/shop, and some of the local restaurants. Home is in great condition with a lovely lot and view, and Craig was super responsive. Thanks for having us again!

The house and property was amazing! Great host, so clean, and had everything you needed to make your stay great! The view was gorgeous and nothing like walking out to the lake and taking in the scenery! We fished right off the dock and had a blast🐠 Can’t wait to go back again! Relaxing Getaway

This was a last minute booking for us, and it was very pleasant. The house was very clean and well stocked with towels. It also had basic spices and oils for cooking. The house is located on a fairly quiet street, which was nice because we could let our pup off leash a little bit for some exercise. The pup also enjoyed jumping off the dock and swimming; the stairs made getting out of the water easy. The lake seemed to be a 'fishing' type lake, more for boating than swimming in my limited opinion. It was very nice relaxing by the water, especially in the shade of the big tree out front, just beware of the goose droppings.

Just what we needed!

This was our first VRBO experience and it went great. The property appeared recently updated and was nicely appointed. The house layout was a little odd but that didn't matter since the main living space, which is very large, was where we spent most of our time inside anyway. There are fantastic views of the Lake from this space as well. We loved being able to walk out the door and go directly into the Lake. No need to drive to a Lake like you would from a hotel. We used the paddle board and kayak provided daily. As well as the fire pit. The rental contact was hospitable and quick to respond. No complaints. Would go again and highly suggest to others.

I never write reviews!

We stay at a lakefront home every summer and this might be our favorite so far! Craig was very accommodating from the get-go. We were so thrilled to be able to bring our therapy dog (in training). That was a first for our family, and the kids loved not having to leave him behind. The dock was perfect, the yard was spacious, and the rope swing was a huge hit! The cupboards were stocked, which is also rare in my experience. Who wants to bring olive oil/salt/garlic powder on vacation?! Craig had it covered. The beds were so comfortable and clean. Shower was stocked with shampoo, conditioner , and body wash. Neighbors were friendly as well. 10/10 stay. We’ll be back!

Wonderful!

Beautiful lake and house with a huge yard. Great porch and fire pit in the back. Our family, kids, and dog all loved it! Everything was taken care of for us. We had the power go out during a storm and the owner was super responsive. He helped us reset the breaker and got the power back on in time to save dinner! We had a lovely stay and would go back again.

Beautiful and relaxing

We had the best time! The cottage is beautiful, very clean, and had everything we needed. There were even board games to play and wood for the fires. Huge windows give an excellent view of the lake. Swimming, fishing, campfires and relaxing in the sun. We didn't want to come home! My 8-year-old granddaughter said, "This is the funest week of my whole life!" We highly recommend this property.

Very nice lakefront getaway

The lakefront property is very nice. The owner is easy to get a hold of and responds promptly. The cottage and yard area are spacious. The cottage is appropriately furnished and comfortable. My wife and I had each of our 3 children along with spouses and grandchild join us. We all had a very enjoyable time. We fished, swam, grilled, played yard games, and did some sight-seeing.

Great family time!

We traveled with our younger children (both under 8) and our family dog. Property has been recently renovated and well taken care of. Kids loved swimming at the property, kayaking, fishing, and having s’mores with the lakeside firepit. Everything as described and would definitely come again. For those with younger kids the town has a magic shop (magic capital of the world, after all) and some nice playgrounds nearby. Walked downtown to dinner (magic capital grille and five star pizza) and had some fantastic fried fish from Curlys.
