Large, 6 Bedroom La Jolla Shores Beach House- 1 Block From The Ocean

You’ve found the perfect beach house for your next extended/ multi-generational family vacation or get-together with a big friend group. This house is in a prime location with 6 bedrooms, 1 block from the beach. You are so close that the ocean will lull you to sleep after a big day in the surf or making sandcastles w/ your children. Or close the windows and enjoy the A/C throughout. It’s walkable to the La Jolla Shores business district which is on Avenida de la Playa where you’ll find restaurants, kayak and SUP rentals, shopping, and convenience stores. The house comes with 4 bicycles, boogie boards, surf boards, beach chairs, and beach toys. The house was completely remodeled/ updated in 2022 and has all the modern finishes including A/C throughout, and amenities that you want for a large family gathering. Interior Layout: On the upstairs level, you’ll find 4 large, over-sized rooms, all w/ ocean views. The Primary Suite spans the entire floor with a private balcony with an expansive view looking directly West, at the ocean. There is a second Primary Suite upstairs w/ a king bed and en-suite bathroom. The 3rd room upstairs has 2 Queen beds and big ocean views. The 4th room has a king bed and an ocean view. The 3rd and 4th room share a bathroom, 5’ from each bedroom door. There is a laundry room upstairs. On the main level, you enter through a large, enclosed patio w/ outdoor seating and a dining table for 10. There is a gas bbq and a Green Egg for grilling. Enter the house and you’ll find the 5th bedroom off the foyer with a King Bed and an en-suite bathroom. Walk towards the kitchen and you’ll be greeted by your an ocean view w/ a deck off the kitchen, perfect for morning coffee and to check the surf. The kitchen has an open plan w/ the dining and seating area all part of the open kitchen. Accessible from the foyer, dining room, and patio, there is a very large living room w/ 2 distinct seating areas, one for TV and game table and one for a more formal seating area, complete with couch, chairs, coffee table, and gas fireplace. On the lower level, there is an in-law suite/ apartment that has a queen bed, en-suite bath, living room, fireplace, and a full kitchen, complete with refrigerator and dishwasher. It’s perfect for a couple, who wants/ needs a little “space,” grandparents, older children, and of course, your in-laws should they be traveling with you. It is acessible from the stairs leading downstairs across from the kitchen and from an exterior door that leads out to the backyad. On the lower level, you’ll also find the 2nd laundry area and storage for beach toys. Exterior: There are 2 outdoor showers to rinse off after a sandy day at the beach or a sunset walk to Scripps Pier. One of them has hot water and soap/ shampoo for a much-needed warm shower after a good ocean swim or surf session. The driveway has room for 2 cars. There is ample street parking. The patio is set up for entertaining with an outdoor couch, chairs, seating area, and full dining table for 10. There are 2 exterior doors into the patio, controlled by an electronic code/ lock, one from the sidewalk and one from the driveway. The patio is large and inviting and comes with a gas stove and Green Egg for grilling. We eat at least 50% of our lunches & dinners on the patio as the weather in La Jolla is so good year-round. The backyard is accessible from the North/ South sides of the house as well as the deck off the kitchen. In the backyard, under the deck you’ll find bins that store boogie boards, beach chairs, and a cornhole set.

Room by Room Description: Primary 1: King bed, en-suite bath, bidet wash toilet, soaking tub, large walk-in shower for 2, day bed, 2 chairs for the TV area, coffee station w/ coffee maker and tea pot, work station w/ desk, and a private balcony with great views spanning from Mount Soledad to the South, La Jolla Shores beach (West) in front of you, and Kellogg park to the North. Sit on the deck, have a nightcap and enjoy the sights and sounds of La Jolla Shores. It has a large closet that allows you to fully un-pack for your vacation. This room is accessed from the main stairs leading up from the foyer, on the left from the landing. It’s very private and separate from the other 3 rooms upstairs. Primary 2: King bed, en-suite bath, bidet wash toilet, large walk-in shower for 2, day bed, ceiling fan. This is a large room and if your party needs a 2nd master, this room more than ticks that box with an over-sized room complete with a day-bed and desk if you have any work to do while there. There is a partial ocean view looking Northwest. Bedroom 3: Two Queen beds. We call this the “Ocean Room” as it’s got 3 windows facing West with great views of the waves breaking at the Shores beach. It’s super inviting w/ 2 hanging “Space Chairs” that kids love to curl up in. It has a walk-in closet and a desk. This room is perfect for 2 siblings or friends that don’t mind sharing a room but will appreciate having their own Queen bed. Open the windows of this room and let the ocean sounds and breeze lull you to sleep. Our kids fight over who gets this room. Bedroom 4: King bed w/ view of ocean looking Northwest. It’s a large room and has a hanging chair for lounging, closet, and drawers for 2. This room is good for a couple or 2 children sharing a large king bed and are good sharing a bathroom w/ whoever is in Bedroom 3. Bedroom 3 & 4 share a bathroom that is super close to each of the rooms, maybe 4-5’ from each door. Bedroom 5: This is accessed off the foyer on the main level. It has a king bed and en suite bathroom. Open the window and hear the ocean at night. Bedroom 6: Queen bed. This is on the lower level, and is a self-contained in-law suite/ apartment. It has an en-suite bathroom, a full sized refrigerator, oven, induction cook-top, sink w/ disposal, dishes and utensils. It has a livingroom/ seating area w/ a fireplace and TV. It can be accessed from the backyard through its own entrance or from within the house, going down the stairs from kitchen. This room is perfect for someone who wants/ needs their own space/ privacy.
The house comes with everything you need for a successful day at the beach: boogie boards, surf boards, beach chairs, beach towels, and toys. The neighborhood is very quiet and friendly with wide sidewalks conducive to walking. The beach is one block away. Your family will love walking the roughly 1 mile stretch of beach from the Scripps Pier (North) and the Marine Room (South). Piattis, Barbarellas, The Cheese Shop, Sushi Mori, Jeff’s Beach Burgers, and Scoops Ice Cream are all local favorites and an 8 minute walk from the house.
