Spacious Cabin on Peaceful Pond with Private Dock- 1 hour from Acadia
A beautiful, spacious log cabin situated on quiet Flander's Pond. Start your day with a hot cup of coffee on the wrap around porch and enjoy the early morning calls of the common loons. Have a campfire by the lake with views of Schoodic Mountain. You can explore the lake by paddle boat, kayak, or canoe. Fishing off the dock is a great way to spend the afternoon. Finish the day with a meal on the grill and watch the sun set from the shore.
Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are just 1 hour away. Many other site seeing attractions are nearby, such as Schoodic Point.
Local restaurants are nearby to get your authentic New England Seafood fix!
Beautiful hiking trail approximately 2 miles from the cabin that takes you up to the top of Schoodic Mountain with scenic views of Frenchman's Bay and Mount Desert Island.
We booked this house for 8 people, but it ended up just being my husband, my son and myself. It was more than we needed, but was great. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable and the location was good. There were many Canadian geese messing up the dock, but otherwise the dock area was great. There was a fire pit near the water which we did not use, but would be nice if my whole family was there.
Loved the wonderful lake house. Great size for a party of 8. Grandchildren loved boating on the lake. Wonderful accommodations.
Would stay again.
Thank you for sharing your home.
We loved this property. The home was comfortable and well-equipped and the view of the lake was beautiful. It was close enough to Acadia and Bar Harbor so that we enjoyed these destinations as well as the peace of the cabin.
The house is really big and the view of the lake is beautiful. There were a few things that could've been better including, the house wasn't cleaned super well - there was dried up vomit of some sort in the bunk bed room, the soap dispenser in the kitchen was broken upon arrival, the grill was super dirty, and the dock hadn't been cleaned and was littered with tons of loon poop. I think this is simply because the home isn't frequently rented and it could've been a while since it was cleaned based on the last guests time of stay. All in all it was a great disconnect from city life and we had some really fun bonding time.
We had an overall great stay in Sullivan, Maine. Check-in was very easy. The location was beautiful and peaceful. Exactly what we were looking for in a vaction spot. Initially we did not have internet access but the owner was quick to respond on how to fix the problem. We did have family come for dinner twice during our stay. There was plenty of plastic utensils but not many regular forks. I did buy some so that should not be a problem for future visitors. We did have a wicked storm during our stay and we lost power. The generator did not turn on. We did figure out how to get it started but it would stop after 10-15 minutes. I did reach out to the owner at the time but I did not receive a response until the following day. Luckily the power returned within an hour. Overall we had an amazing time on our vacation.
