This property felt like I was back in my childhood home. The location, roughly halfway between Cayey and Caguas, makes it convenient as a starting point from which to explore the island.
Local Experience and next to "lechoneras" tourist attraction
The property was spacious and safe. Plenty of room for the whole family with a parking space. The gates lock up at night--as is the tradition in PR.The best part was waking up to the mountain air, picking up some fresh bread from up the street and eating breakfast next to a spectacular mountain view. I'v e been to Puerto Rico many times and have stayed in hotels where I enjoyed the vacation tremendously, but this was the first time that I stayed at a vacation house, where we got a taste of local life. The vacation was great. Other than the the dogs barking at times, the area was peaceful. On Saturdays we walked down the street to enjoy the festivities of the 'lechoneras' where we partied for hours. That was really nice.
Had a great time and plan on booking the house again.
We definitely would go back.
Like I said everything about the house was amazing had a blast my parents loved the house. The only problem I had where I was very disappointed was with vrbo for not contacting the house owner or the house manager to let them know that their property was being rented and paid for. We was lost for 3 hours until I contacted vrbo and ask for the owner personal number so I can call cause vrbo didn't. But besides that on the first day once I was able to get in hold of her everything went great after we got to the house.
When we got to the rental, we were tried contacting the owner via cell and got a message that she wouldnât be available for the next 48 hours. We started to panic and started asking the neighbors about the house and finally found the person who cleans the house, she finally let us in. The house was in horrible conditions including rusted and broken utensils. One towel to share and a partially working stove. The house plumbing drains onto the back yard (unbelievable) not the sewer (directly onto the yard). The ceilings were flaking paint and the furniture seemed from the early eighties (extremely worn out). No locks at all on any door (all broken). The only lock was a pad lock on the outside main gate. This truly had to be the worst rental in rental history!!! Did I mention âthe owner was unreachable... she call me when we were at the airport leaving back to California (trying to apologize for the conditions we were forced to stay in)... I advised her not to rent the property until she corrected many major repairs and issues...
This property met our needs for our recent visit to Puerto Rico. It was convenient to have 2 full bathrooms and a full kitchen. Itâs near the legendary Lechonera (5 minute drive)- great area for dinner and live music! The one bathroom could use updating -the bathtub is rusty. No air conditioning if that is a must for you, but all rooms have fans. One bedroom does not have direct access to the main part of the house- have to go outside to get into the main part of the house/bathroom, so may not be ideal depending who is traveling. Nice front balcony for sitting; great views from the back balcony (but not enough space for sitting and seeing the great view). Travelled with my elderly parents- one with limited mobility/use of wheelchair and this house worked out great- all one level; no steps from the driveway into the house. Major downside- one night the neighboring dogs howled the ENTIRE NIGHT! Even the fan noise could not block out the dogs. Thankfully it was only one night of our stay. Owner was readily available and promptly answered all calls. Greeted by the house manager upon arrival- who showed us around the house.
La propiedad estå en la montaña de Guavate Serca de toda la diversión Linda la dueña muy amable.La casa estå muy limpia y en buen estado todo nos encantó a mi familia y a mi gracias por todo.
Well this property has been great for us this is the second time we rent the house we have no problems great neighborhood great view great speaking to the owner keeping in contact making sure everything's okay me and my wife enjoy our stay we definitely will be there again thank you it was a great vacation
I have to say everything was good, clean house, quiet neighborhood ,and beautiful view on the back porch. And also the owner Linda itâs a great person with a nice communication. And property manager Magdalena a nice person who bring a nice attention. Thank you so much,
Armando Vega.
There was nothing about this place that disappointed. From the house itself, which was spacious, clean and had everything we needed... to its location with its beautiful views, close to great food and centrally located for the different places we visited on the island.
I don't have enough good things to say about this home. It is a Puerto Rican warm welcome and comfortable stay for any amount of time your going to be there.
Linda gave excellent directions, no concerns about safety and the coqui sang me to sleep every night. No internet but there is satellite TV and cell phone reception was perfect so didn't care about lack of wifi.
Todo estuvo excelente comenzando con la Sra. Linda muy amable se comunicĂł para darnos las indicaciones de cĂłmo llegar. Los sonidos de la naturaleza fueron muy relajantes, todo estuvo muy confortable.
The property was clean , safe, comfortable, nice view of the mountains. The owner of the property was attentive to us ,calling before our stay giving us directions to ensure we find the place. I would defenetly recomend it to friends and family.
We CI at say enough about this beautiful home. The view was truly amazing. Thank you
We loved the experience we had while staying for our vacation. The view was spectacular. At the top of the mountain on the road to some of the best lechonera on the island. Beautiful home away from home. The home is fully equipped with everything you need.
The caretaker of the home was very gracious.
Would highly recommend.
Both, ownerLinda and manager Magdalena, are gentle souls. Theyâre very helpful. The town of Cayey has some of the most astonishing countryside views in the Island. Thus, our rental property offered fantastic mountain views, Located minutes away from Guavate was icing on the cake. The place is centrally located and so it is easy to travel to San Juan and to my home-town of Yabucoa. My wife and I felt safe and secured. The weather was great to sleep. This country-home is well appointed with 3 bedrooms with very comfortable beds, 2 bathrooms with âhot-water đŹ The place is very affordable and recommended for families. It could also use some upgrading. We will rent again, though.
In Guavate, you will find the largest selection of 'lechoneras' (roasted pig restaurants) in Puerto Rico. Lots of music and dancing. People from all over the world go there.
