Magical cottage in the woods just outside of Woodstock. Relaxed and charming, meticulously appointed and newly renovated. We have earned an overall rating of 5 stars on other rental platforms from all our guests, where we have earned super host status. All of our reviews have been 5 stars in all categories and we've been recognized for exceptional hospitality. Enjoy the heated, salt water pool, stone patio, fire pit, landscaped gardens & manicured lawns. Fast WIFI for working and streaming. Romantic bedroom with exposed wood beams and cathedral ceilings. Peaceful, quiet setting. Sit on the screened in porch with a glass of wine in the evening or a cup of coffee in the morning and take in the glorious views. Perfect getaway for couples and small families. Quiet, pastoral country property with gorgeous views from the screened in porch, living room and kitchen. The cabin sits on a large, private, fenced property. Secluded yet close to town. A short 5 minute drive into the legendary town of Woodstock, with all of it's vibrant restaurants, live music venues and arts performances, and the best Hudson Valley Farm to Table restaurants. A quick 3 minute drive or a quick walk down the hill for a top notch breakfast or lunch, or grocery run at Sunfrost Farms and the new Bearsville Theater Complex. Forty minutes to Hunter Mountain or 35 minutes to Belleayre Mountain for great skiing and snowboarding. Free parking onsite.

The cottage blends modern with rustic to create a peaceful environment for you to relax and unwind in, and offers upscale amenities for your comfort and convenience. The large screened in porch, furnished with hand made furniture from a local craftsman, brings the outside in, perfect for relaxing, dining, or sipping your favorite beverage. The cottage is furnished with an eclectic combination of antiques, handmade furniture from a local craftsman, original art and modern decor. Ceiling fans in the porch cool you off on a warm Summer's night.

The cottage is footsteps away from a 20' x 40' heated, salt water pool and private blue stone patio and fire pit with a circle of comfy Adirondack chairs for relaxing around the fire. Lot's of Adirondack chairs around the pool too. The pool is adjacent to the main house.

Guests have exclusive access to the pool and pool area except for the brief dips in the pool my husband and I take a few times a day when the guests are off the property. Guests are invited and encouraged to enjoy and spend all the time they like in the pool and pool area, and enjoy the many sitting areas, lounge chairs, outdoor dining table and chairs, and pool toys. Feel free to make yourself at home.

Fast wifi for working and streaming. AC in all rooms. Curated mix of of antiques and modern decor. Brand new kitchen with microwave, toaster oven/air fryer, French press, drip coffee maker. Brand new ensuite bathroom. Living room with Bob Williams & Mitchell Gold Sofa with luxury queen sofa bed for a comfortable nights sleep for two additional guests. New, 43" TV for streaming your favorite programs. There are plenty of games stocked too for rainy days.

Beautiful property

Beautiful property. The guest house is tucked back behind the main house with good privacy and separate entrance to the pool. The guest house has everything you need. The huge screened in porch was the highlight for me!

Review of ‘Magical Cottage in the Woods’

My major disappointment was that I booked this cottage as it had a heated pool. It turned out that every time you wanted to use the ‘heated pool’ you needed to notify the owner to ‘ask her to turn on the heat.’ We all know it takes hours to heat a pool. When I texted to tell her I wanted to use it she texted, back, ‘the pool is 80 degrees.’ I returned to the property several hrs later and the water was very cold. I did not go in. If you say the pool is heated it should be heated dawn to dusk for our stay. No hot tub or washer as advertised.The photos looked great and made the cabin appear larger than it was. The bedroom did not have adequate shelves or a functional closet. The closet was approximately 1’deep x 3’wide. There was a bookcase with 3 empty shelves in the bedroom where I had to put SOME of my clothing. The rest had to be left in my suitcase. Our toiletries had to be stored on one of the bookcase shelves in the bedroom. There was no bathroom medicine chest & only one shelf approximately 3”x 10”. The kitchen and living rm were a nice open area and adequate size. Again, storage was an issue. ie; the broom had to be disassembled to fit into the cabinet. There were large black ants throughout the cottage but, OK…I’m in the woods. Otherwise everything was very clean. Towels were new & plush. There was an area to park your car which was about 500’ from the cottage. The owner provided a cart for us to bring our luggage up to the house.

Just so wonderful experience. The caretakers of the property were incredibly attentive and helpful and made you feel like you were safe and protected. I thought of everything for comfort and convenience and quiet for an incredible getaway. This was truly a treasure and I’m so grateful that I found it because it was one of the best experiences I’ve had. Always great to visit Woodstock again since I haven’t been there since I was a kid. I’m staying in the magical cabin in the Woods made it spectacular!

Great Woodstock stay

Our family of 3 had a fantastic time staying at Laurie’s cabin. It was clean, spacious, and the setting is gorgeous. Hanging around the fire pit was a definite highlight for us. The cottage is thoughtfully decorated (lots of hooks!) and had everything we needed for our stay. Laurie was a wonderful host, she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, had great recs for hikes and dining and even made sure we knew about a local fireworks show! We would definitely recommend this magical space!

Best Cabin in the Woods!

This cabin is in a beautiful secluded location while still being close to downtown Woodstock and accompanied by multiple amenities -- large, screened in porch, fire pit with seating, and access to the property's heated pool and pool loungers. The cabin feels brand new, and is both thoughtfully decorated and comes with all the necessary amenities. We were never lacking for anything while we stayed there. It's a perfect size and set up for a family with 1 or 2 children. And most importantly, our hosts, Laurie and David, were incredibly warm, welcoming, attentive, and kind -- while also respecting our privacy. We highly recommend this to anyone visiting Woodstock or the area and hope to come back soon!

A short walk or drive into the town of Woodstock, or just up the hill from Sunfrost Farm. A car would be convenient to get around to see the local sights, although you can certainly manage without a car if you stay local. Forty minutes to Hunter Mountain or 35 minutes to Belleayre Mountain for great skiing and snowboarding. Free parking onsite.

Guests have exclusive access to the private stone patio with fire pit, Adirondack chairs, and the gardens and woods surrounding the cottage. Guests also have exclusive access to the 20' x 40" pool most of the day, and lounge chairs, an outdoor dining table and chairs, and pool toys poolside. My husband and I live on the property in another house adjacent to the pool.

I love living in Woodstock, and will share with you all the local places that I know and love to make your stay extra special. After you book your reservation, you will receive a curated list of all my favorite places to eat, visit, hike, play pickleball, get a massage, and best takeout.

Additional rules: No parties or events. Only the specific guests noted in the booking are allowed on the premises. No smoking or burning of incense inside the cottage or on the porch. No dogs allowed. No shoes inside. No candles inside or on the porch. Instead, we provide flameless, battery-operated candles for you to use.

Price includes up to two adults and two children. Additional adults $50 per night.

Guests must have a gold or 5 star rating on VRBO, airbnb, or an equivalent account and rating on another platform to make a reservation.
