Thank you for your review Nancy. We always appreciate feedback as well as when a guest calls to give us the opportunity to fix something that isn't right. That is why, immediately after receiving your email about the smell of cigarette smoke, I contacted the housekeeper and the co-owner of Lake Lady Property Management, who checks the house after the housekeeper and before the next guest arrives. They were both there the day you arrived. Neither of the two, one of whom is an ex-smoker, smelled any hint of cigarette smoke. The next morning, you sent an email saying you were leaving the house for the day and left all of the windows open to air the house out. Simultaneously, my business partner, wanting to check in on you, went to the house hoping to discuss your concerns and to see if he had possibly missed anything the evening prior. There was no smell whatsoever, and he also noted that all of the windows were closed and the AC was on. As I stated in my email to you, we take every concern seriously, and want the best experience for our guests. We also perform our due diligence to ensure we are not being subjected to those seeking discounted stays due to manifested complaints. Sadly, it happens. When I reiterated that we simply smelled no smoke, your response was quite irate, and from that point, the complaints multiplied, which is also a common and unfortunate practice we experience when a guest doesn't receive compensation. If someone had smoked there prior to your stay, we would have absolutely known, and we would have contacted the previous guest, and he would have forfeited his damage deposit, as smoking in any of our properties is strictly prohibited. We would have used those funds for more intensive cleaning and to compensate you. We would have been happy to do that if indeed there was an issue to resolve. We will 100% acknowledge that a stackable washer and dryer did replace the dresser, and that we did not update our photos prior to your arrival. Thank you.
