I stayed at The Nest with my husband and two sons (8 and 9) while our other son was at DreamsPark. The Nest was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the baseball fields. This location allowed us to give our sons a vacation while our other son enjoyed baseball with his team. We enjoyed swimming and fishing off the dock before and after heading over to DreamsPark. Evening bonfire and smores on the dock was everyone's favorite. A perfect little spot and we hope to return!
Gorgeous property right on glimmerglass lake. The cottage was perfect for our Cooperstown Dream Park vacation. Kitchen was well equipped and the beds very comfortable. Space only has a window unit for AC (common for this area to not have central) which can be a little warmer than used to if visiting from the south. Downtown Cooperstown is 8-10 min drive along the lake. Dreams Park is an additional 8-10 out of town. Location is fantastic!
It's a beautiful spot and Roberta couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming to us. Kids loved it. Perfect spot to swim, fish, cookout, relax, and enjoy the lake.
My son and I had a wonderful stay in the quaint cottage. The owner was very accommodating with my schedule since we were here for a baseball tournament. Location was PERFECT!!! 10 minutes from Main Street in Cooperstown and then another 10 minutes to Dreams Park Fields. If we came back I would definitely stay here again.
The Nest was great! It was clean and tidy, and stocked with kitchen and bath items. We enjoyed our time on the lake with kayaks and paddleboards. Wish we would've had more time! Roberta was quick to respond to any questions we had. Wifi was appreciated too!
Our 5-year-old granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area around the dock while collecting clam shells. We kayaked on one of the sit-on-top kayaks - which is large enough for a 5-year-old to sit in front of a grandfather while he paddles. We also caught a fish which we cleaned, cooked and ate. All were wonderful experiences for both the granddaughter and grandparents. We had a wonderful time.
A small, very efficient cottage with a small, well-equipped kitchen and a very comfortable king-size bed in the loft above. There's a very nice little deck area outside with comfortable furniture. The path to the lake is a bit steep--study the pictures in the listing, they give a good idea. It was fine for us, but if you have trouble on slippery surfaces, be warned. Once you get down to the lake, though, it is a beautiful place to read or kayak. We enjoyed our stay very much and the host was friendly and helpful. A couple of tiny niggles: it could use a better frying pan and a comfortable indoor chair. Also, arriving, we had been given the wrong street number, so we missed it at first. Watch for the "Nest" sign.
I had a really, really enjoyable time staying at The Nest! My 12 year old was at Dreams Park for the week, and i was looking for a nice place for my 10 year old son and I to stay that wasnt too far away from the park. The house was very inviting the minute we walked into the door. Roberta, who is everything you could ever want in a host, takes alot of time to make sure everything in the house is clean and orderly before anyone walks in the door. I instantly knew i had made the right choice. The beds are very comfortable; we slept great the whole trip. There is plenty of privacy too, which I loved. We had our own dock with kayaks and paddle boards to use on Lake Otsego, which is truly breathtaking in its own right. We swam multiple times and enjoyed fishing too. There is also a firepit that we used as well. The last night of the trip, my son and I headed down to the dock and watched about a dozen shooting stars during a meteor shower. It was the perfect ending. The boys and I had a blast, we will definitely be back
The wife will be going too! Thanks Roberta!

Disappointed Stay
Had no idea of the sharp drop off from road to cottage and cottage to lake. 100 steps from dock to cottage at a 60 - 70 degree angle. No canoe was available as shown. Had to dump water out of heavy fire pit and was told dry wood was in or near shed by the cottage. I mentioned it was a long way to have to carry logs and was told, âothers do it.â There were light & light switch issues in the cottage. The bulb for the stairs light was missing and no replacement found. Only two bath towels left for the week. Had to call for more. All kinds of warnings about water and septic system issues. Constantly concerned about using to much water or having plumbing problems. There was a hole in the screen of the screen door. The porch/deck entering the door was partially covered by tree leaves & plant debris. No attempt was made to clean this off before our arrival, and no broom left to sweep it. Plants around the deck & cottage were over grown.
The weather for the week started out very rainy and the days stayed cloudy & cold. This all restricted any outdoor fun near or on the lake and meant we had to stay in the cottage too much. As a result we left early Wednesday instead of Friday. Overall, not a good week.
We stayed here for two nights in mid-September while visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame, in Cooperstown. We purposely came after Labor Day so there would be less people. The Nest is the perfect little place on Lake Otsego. We did not use any of the lakeside equipment, like the kayaks or fire pit, but did visit the dock and it looked like fun. The weather was cool and rainy for our stay. The path to the lake was a bit tricky due to the damp conditions. Itâs a cute, cozy cabin!
Great cozy cottage to return to, during the hustle and bustle of a busy week back and forth to Cooperstown Dreams Park. It had everything we needed for the week. Beds were extremely comfortable and the air conditioner cooled the cottage nicely. My sonâs enjoyed swimming in the lake and using the kayaks! Thank you so much Roberta and we hope to stay again the future!
The Nest was a wonderful break from the busy days at Dream Park. The home was well-equipped with everything we needed for the week. Roberta was so kind and welcoming. My younger son loved kayaking on the lake - what a treat! We definitely recommend booking!
Spent the weekend to get away and it was an awesome spot a few miles from Cooperstown. Roberta was an amazing host and we even had the chance to go out on her boat! Thank you again Roberta for everything and nice chatting with you!
Just 15 min from Cooperstown Dreams Park! Perfect for me and my husband for the week with just one day with my son! We enjoyed the water activities and the beds were amazing! Host is awesome! Sad we had to leave!
Roberta was a lovely host. She was very accommodating and kind.
We had a very relaxing stay. Our every need was met and more. The cabin was so adorable and tastefully done . Everything there just made sense. I would highly recommend this place to all.
We had such a great time! The house was part of our whole experience. The ease of access to the kayaks and paddle boarding was perfect! It got a little warm during the heat wave, but the little a/c cooled it right down, just as we were told it would! Shower was great with hot water too! Everything was better than expected! We would stay here again for sure.
About me,...Well, lets see..., architectural designer, painter, ceramicist, builder, visual A lifelong (almost!) resident of the beautiful Cooperstown rolling hills and ...THE LAKE!!!!! My Zen place.
The privacy and solitude of the lake are very special. The authentic upstate lake side vernacular is disappearing..... I wanted to preserve this special home and give it a modern freshness .
