Class & Comfort

Where to start? We've already had two lackluster VRBO stays this year elsewhere, and had resigned ourselves to mediocrity. This wasn't our first choice, since we usually prefer a quiet area and this home was in a well-traveled area. However, we did need a fenced in yard for our pooch, previous reviews were outstanding, and the location was excellent. Clem called us the afternoon of our checkin to let us know the house was ready early, in case we wanted to check in - which we did! Entering the house, we were greeted by a gorgeous bouquet of hot pink and orange zinnias with spearmint - what a delight! - along with wine, snacks, and even Scooby treats for our pup. Very stylish, upscale home - the kitchen was perfect - nice gas stove top, lots of dishes available, and implements in places that made intuitive sense! It was extremely well stocked, which was a huge plus, since we like to cook in. Beds comfy; the plumbing fixtures in the baths were reminiscent of what you see in high-end German hotels! Nutrogena bath and shampoo items; extra toothbrushes for those who forgot theirs; so many extras, it's hard to list them all. The hot tub was spotless; and the neighborhood at night was very quiet, and no road noise. Clem was extremely responsive when we had to text with a couple questions. This is the first time ever in our years of traveling that we are definitely making plans to return to the same spot. House and community both are truly a delight!

The Perfect Getaway

The Blue Stag was the perfect place for our girls’ getaway! It is stylish, clean, and perfectly appointed. The wonderful hosts thought of every detail. The location was very convenient for our planned excursions and the backyard had us staying in at night because it was so luxurious! We loved every detail and highly recommend The Blue Stag for anyone looking to stay in the Saugatuck area!

Great time!

Spent three nights here and it was so very relaxing and refreshing. The house was in excellent condition and the owner put alot of thought into little "extras" like fresh flowers, wine, instructions, welcome signs, etc . Would absolutely stay here again

Beautiful, thoughtful accommodations

Easy to access, well appointed, and quiet location. Plenty of bikes included (bring your own helmets!) and place settings. This house is elegantly appointed with comfy beds and the owners made the most efficient use of this ranch home. We loved grabbing carry out from time and enjoying our own bar at the house, sitting inside and out. Fire pit was a great touch as was the fully fenced yard for our Mitzie-dog. Thank you to our gracious hosts for having us!

Wonderful Place to Stay

Our group of 7 loved the Blue Stag. The kitchen had everything you would need. Beds were comfortable. Very clean. Beautiful interior design. The patio area was a great place to chat and relax. Hosts were very thoughtful with nice touch of a personalized b-day cake as we were all celebrating a milestone. Great location close to beaches and downtown and just two doors down from a fantastic restaurant.Stay here - you won't regret it!

Great place to stay

Although the house is small, Clem and Tony made great use of the space! It was very clean and had everything a guest might need. They were truly thoughtful in detail. The backyard was lovely; plenty of trees for shade and the tall fence ensured our privacy while outside. We would definitely recommend this house. Also, make sure to try the Olive Burger (apparently a MI thing) and the Saugatuck Dune Rides (so fun!).

Very clean

We had a wonderful time staying here. It was the perfect spot to stay for our daughter’s wedding at the Ivy House. Our grandson loved the game room. Everything is newly updated and clean. The owners are very nice and helpful.

My own personal resort

Clem and Tony were the best hosts. We received a welcome bag filled with thoughtful goodies to feel right at home. The place was beautiful inside and out. It had everything we needed and then more. Their communication was gracious and quick. I felt like it was my own personal resort. Thank you!! I would totally recommend!!!

Family time

Trip was for time together with our two sons, spouses, grandson and 2dogs. We walked to the city daily; ate out lunch; and came back to relax. Kids enjoyed the hot tub. Blue Stag was very clean, and well equipped. We already booked for next year!

Perfect stay!

This house is exactly as pictured---cute, clean, well stocked, just perfect! Our doggie loved hanging out on the deck, patio, and yard. She also loved watching us play ping pong in the garage/turned very cool hang out space (there's a disco ball!) You can cross the street and you're on the walking/bike path, and two doors down is the PennyRoyal Cafe. Comfortable bed and furniture, hot tub on the patio, cozy fireplace inside--I could go on and on. We had a great few days and would love to return sometime.

Fantastic get away!

We absolutely loved the Bluestag! It’s so easy to get to, conveniently located yet out of town enough for a peaceful escape. Our 2 corgi’s absolutely loved the yard and we really enjoyed sitting outside day and night and enjoying the beautiful landscape. The house has everything you could need and is so comfortable that you feel right at home. The hosts are fantastic and made sure to give us a wonderful welcome for both us and our dogs. We will definitely be back!!

Saugatuck oasis

Had a terrific time at Clem & Tony's meticulously appointed place, with all that we could want, over a nice long post-summer weekend in Michigan. From the time we booked through check-in and check-out, they made it a seamless process. Not only did my wife and I love everything about it, our pooch did too: the high fence in the back was key for our girl who needs some room to roam. Thanks again to both our wonderful hosts--we'll be back!

Perfect getaway

Everything was absolutely perfect here! The house is very well maintained and the yard is very nice. It's fenced and very private with a hot tub. I really can't say enough nice things about the hosts. You walk in to flowers, wine and chocolates. There were many nice surprises around the home. They go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. We usually go to South Haven every summer but decided to try somewhere different this year. So glad we did! We will definitely be back!

COULDN'T HAVE BEEN BETTER! YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Where do I even start? We walked in and were greeted with a beautiful floral arrangement, wine, candies, dog treats, hot tub bath bombs, a welcoming note, etc. The town of Saugatuck is our favorite, as we've been coming since our grown daughters were very young. Now we're here with the girls and their husbands and a baby! Oval Beach couldn't have been better...seeing the wonder of our grandson put his little toes in the sand and watching the water rush over his feet for the very first time. Staying here with all my favorite people was magical, thanks to the wonderful place we stayed, The Blue Stag! Ample room for everyone. The Blue Stag is perfect, in a great location, took the provided bikes or a short walk to town. Walked over to Penny Royal for breakfast, steps away, felt like a dream dining outside. Mimosas! The home is above and beyond, offering over the top decor...the art, the comfy beds, baths, the game room with ping pong/pool/disco ball etc. couldn't have been more fun! Every amenity in the kitchen, bar area with blender, etc., tv's in every bedroom. Our little Maltese loved the yard as much as we loved the hot tub, fire pit, patio lights, bluetooth speaker, outdoor dining (as well as indoor dining)! Everything you need is here, so well thought out. Tony and Clem were such lovely hosts, You are soooo amazing!!! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend! And if you've never been to Saugatuck, you need to be. Beautiful people, no town quite like it!

Fantastic stay at the Blue Stag!

A family vacation brought us to Saugatuck and the Blue Stag. We absolutely loved the house! Tony & Clem thought of everything and made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived. The house is so inviting and cozy. We had plenty of space for everyone to spread out and have their own space. The patio area, fireplace/dining area, and game room were favorite spots for all of us. Also the location can’t be beat (2 doors down from Penny Royal Cafe). I can’t recommend the Blue Stag enough! Thank you Tony & Clem for helping us have a great family trip! We look forward to returning to the Blue Stag in the future!

We have stayed at home all over the world. This place thought of everything. You can tell they care about their place and care about the people that stay in it. So many little details of excellence - I would totally stay here again with my family. Also, right next door to an amazing restaurant!

An Easter trip miracle!

We loved the Bluestag! Visited for Easter with our teen and young adult children, and our doggo, and had a perfect time. The house was impeccably clean and very comfortable. Being close to town was great, though after just a couple of hours shopping, everyone wanted to come back and hang out in the game room and the hot tub. We made dinner at home, and truly enjoyed spending the weekend together.

Immaculate, good location, dog friendly!

Clem was a great host and very responsive to my questions. The property is designed beautifully and in immaculate condition. It was definitely a plus that we could bring our dog!
