Country Cottage on the Lakeshore--Few Minutes from Beach

Country cottage, sitting in between the two beach towns of Saugatuck and South Haven. This property is also right on the Lakeshore on the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail. Across the street is a farm that sells fresh eggs, fruit, vegetables, etc. You pull out of the private drive and turn left or right and you will hit a public beach in the next two miles. One of the beaches is a county park with a playground, restrooms, and baseball field. Pets are accepted with a fee.

We needed a place to stay for a nearby wedding. This place was great for what we needed. Really just needed to sleep there but everything was cozy and clean.

A Perfect Country Getaway!

Our stay at the Country Cottage was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The home was even more charming than the photos—spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and filled with thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. We especially loved the peaceful surroundings, with stunning views of the countryside and plenty of space to relax and unwind.The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook our own meals, and the cozy living room was the ideal spot to curl up with a book or enjoy a movie after a day of exploring. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we all slept like babies thanks to the quiet, serene atmosphere.The hosts were wonderful—friendly, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. They provided excellent recommendations for nearby attractions and dining, which really enhanced our experience.If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with all the comforts of home, I can’t recommend the Country Cottage enough. We’re already planning our next visit!

Early bday gift for my wife

The stay was absolutely amazing… we have stayed here before and came back since the place is really quiet and love the wild life we get to see… this time we saw wild turkeys run through the backyard and deer… it is great having beaches near by and we absolutely love the farm right across the street.. Dee is so funny and always has a story to tell…Thank you again for our lovely stay and hope to return again next year

The property was perfect for our stay, and it was nice to have the patio area and firepit to enjoy the evenings outside. Close to the beach either way you go.

Nice stay

Has a nice short stay the weekend after Thanksgiving. Everything was very clean and we loved seeing deer in the backyard plus having our own bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Quiet and nice

This was a nice place to stay during a wedding we had in Sagautuck, MI. It was very clean and quiet. It also had a nice patio to sit and enjoy coffee in the morning, where we saw lots of deer! However, the beds were not very comfortable and my group had trouble sleeping. Would definitely stay here again if the beds were upgraded!

We loved our stay here. It was close to the beach and was the perfect size! The house and yard was spotless! We forgot something at the house and the owners were gracious and help arranged us to get the item.

Perfect rental for family and dog

This rental was just as described and very suitable for our family with two small children and a dog. We visited 3 area beaches and also played at the county park down the road. The 3rd day we visited Saugatuck Dunes State Park which has a beautiful beach. It is about a 15 min hike to the beach from the parking lot which was a small struggle for 2 small children and a wagon full of toys but well worth it. We would come again!

Cute cozy property. Very close to the lake.

The cottage was adorable. The location was great. Close to the lake. We were able to bring our dogs which was a huge plus. I would definitely stay at this location again.

Home away from home

The location was perfect! Private and beautiful but close to the town and beaches. The house was so clean and came with everything we needed. Comfy beds and plenty of towels. They had games for the family and a nice fire pit.

Enjoyed our stay here for a family wedding in Saugatuck. While property location is a decent walk to farms, beach and parks- the streets are narrow and there isn't a wide shoulder so really not walkable. The owners were very responsive and accomodating

Weekend at SW Michigan

The house is as advertised, a half mile from a farm that sells eggs and jams. Spacious backyard and back porch. About 15 minutes from South Haven and a lot of parks and trails are near. Quiet near the house as it’s down a private drive of maybe five or so residences. House has plenty of room for six people.

Quiet getaway

House is very clean, and look waaay nice and cozy, than I saw on the picture. My kids loved that place! We didn’t get a chance to enjoy a snow ( that’s why we made 1300 miles for), but our little vacation we spent feeling like at home. Thank you very much to the owner for everything! We are looking forward to come over again🙂

Successful girls weekend!

A wonderful property! Large private yard. Plenty of room for 6 adults and one 11 year old. Clean and nicely decorated. Stocked with plenty of extra bedding, cooking/serving/eating supplies and board games. The location was perfect for us, quite and relaxing but so close to Saugatuck and Holland especially for the price. The property manager was very responsive, accommodating and kind. We felt at home while there and had a great girls weekend making plenty of memories! I would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again!

Perfect little spot

The property is located on a private road with a HUGE backyard that our dogs enjoyed exploring. The house is SUPER CLEAN. The location is really central to so many places to explore. South Haven, wineries, the lavender farm and Saugatuck! We explored 3 different beach which were all great. Thank you to the wonderful hosts that made everything so simple and easy for us. Would definately stay there again.

Great sisters get away

The home smelled so good. The furniture and decor was up to date and very well done. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need. The patio and grill were a plus. The backyard was beautiful and quiet and the deer visited each evening. We encountered issues on night 2 with the internet and TV. The owners were very receptive and it was fixed the next afternoon. Directions to work the TV would have been helpful. Highly recommended. Location was close to Saugatuck, Douglas and downtown Fennville.

Renter Beware

I know how hard owners work to maintain their properties. I feel guilty leaving a bad review. This is the first time I've rated any VRBO home less than 5 stars. Parents of infants beware! The home is unable to keep a set temperature. It's a smart thermostat which the owner has access to outside the home. She has it on an automatic adjustment setting despite what the renter programs. Several times we found the AC was off and the house was 80⁰+. Heat levels this high are dangerous for sleeping infants. Upon arrival the beds were disheveled and not well made. There was sand in the bed in the master bedroom. The mattresses were of cheaper quality and not comfortable. The bathtub off the bunk bed room doesn't hold water for baths. I couldn't bathe my kids. There is limited hot water. Only 2 or 3 adults can shower before the water turns cold. Grill is old and has lots of build-up. You need to monitor food closely otherwise the debris catches on fire and burns your food. Trashcan outside was overflowing upon arrival. There was no room for our garbage. There's only one set of silverware. Bring extra plasticeware otherwise you'll be washing forks after every meal. No vegetable peeler. Bring your own. Satellite goes out frequently and there's no remote for the dvd player. I wasn't able to find a streaming service for the tv. This was one of the higher priced places i looked at on VRBO. I was hoping for something nicer than I've rented in the past. This home disappointed.
