Communication & check-in with Tena was stellar. House is an old, quirky beach cottage. Itâs had a few add-ons over the years with craftsmanship thatâs not the greatest. But all of it functional. There is a mishmash of furniture throughout, some of which is super old. Thereâs broken furniture left on the front porch and back deck, and old patio tables thrown out by the a/câs. âMasterâ downstairs has a bulky, heavy king bed which takes up the entire room. The 2nd floor ceilings are so low, no one over 6â. Kitchen was fine. Nothing to wipe down counters and no steak knives. I picked this property for the fenced yard. My dogs loved it. But again, the fencing was mishmashed with some spots having a variety of objects - garden trellis pieces, edgers and an oven shelf - trying to keep it sealed off. Itâs sad to see the gardens have not been maintained. It could be really pretty out there. The night before we left, the upstairs a/c stopped working. It was too late to contact anyone, so my son just slept on the downstairs couch. When I checked the a/c units outside in the morning, I was shocked the owners didnât have them replaced before the summer season. Very, very old and rusted throughout. Iâm from Bermuda. I get what salt air does to a house. And I suspect this house is a work in progress for the owners whoâve only had it a couple of years. But they have âcheaped outâ on what could be a really nice beach house especially for the price and in comparison with others.
