We had a beautiful weekend relaxing at Holden Beach- the winter weather and wide open beach were perfect for us and our dog! The house was clean and in a perfect location!
We stayed in the off season. The house was well equipped with older furnishings and the location on the beach was very nice. My only complaint is that you had to log into the wifi every time you needed to get online.
Perfect for me and my 4 legged friend. So thankful for rental that allows pets. Enjoyed the quiet and peacefulness of the nieghborhood. The master bed was very comfortable. Holden beach is a great place for shell hunters. I hope to be back soon! Thanks so much!
When we first attempted at reporting problems,we were told by the call center that we would get a full refund for the week and not have to change units. Repair man can out and secured door and hung curtains we got privacy. Other problems not so easy to fix. Carpet dirty and stained. Grit on table, cabinets rotting ,chipped paint , dirty walls. And that is the short list. Realtor nor their manager would not call.
We were looking forward to this week-end at Holden Beach and were very disappointed in Bayview West. Examples:
1) The kitchen needs to have every item in removed from the cabinets and cleaned by someone who cares. We found baked on food on several baking items.
2) The mattress in the Master Bedroom is impossible for more than one person so sleep on. (I know.) People have sat so often on the side of the bed that you literally roll off the bed in the night. This cannot be fixed without replacing the mattress.
3) There were dead bugs in the lenses of every bathroom overhead light.
4) There were broken off slats from the window treatments in
almost every closet. This means you cannot fully close the window blinds to keep out sun in the summer.
5) The place is generally dingy -- you could make a big difference with a box of Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and two people COMMITTED to cleaning things well.
6) The master bedroom bath had four light fixtures above the mirror -- but no bulbs.
7) A lamp in the living area not only had to bulb, the socket was laying on the lamp out of its base. I fixed this and found a bulb in the house.
I think the above are all deal killers. Don't rent this place. If you are still inclined to try it, here are some pluses:
1) The decorating is attractive.
2) Deck and walkway to the beach have been largely rebuilt.
There are a number of chairs that would make this a good place to lounge.
3) Most of the big appliances (fridge, stove) are new. The dishwasher is not new and the microwave -- while new -- has some unidentifIable stain in the back.
4) The towels are thick, absorbent, and plentiful.
5) The basement parking area and stairs to the unit have recently been repainted.
Forewarned is forearmed. Good Luck.
I had the most incredible birthday celebration at this charming oceanfront duplex. The quaint home was not only spotless but also extremely inviting. With a plethora of kitchen amenities, appliances, and an abundance of dishes, utensils, and pots and pans, we were able to effortlessly cater to our group of friends. And with 2 coffee makers handy, we were able to fuel our 6 caffeine-loving group without any hassle. The easy beach access and comfortable porch furniture made our stay even more unforgettable.
The absolute worst. Even if itâs the last option, DO NOT STAY HERE.
For a start, itâs filthy. The cleaners did their best but the carpet is greasy and grimy and full of bits and pieces. Here are the notes we took while we were thereâŠ..
Upstairs doors canât be secured. Locks donât work.
Broken blinds - canât close fully
No screens on all doors
Smells Iike cat and cat food
Kitchen cupboards donât close
Door to hall cupboards donât open properly, runners are damaged
Filthy runners in the doors
Filthy Finger prints all over the walls and bathroom
Furniture is all old and rusted and uneven / broken
Paint is all damaged and marked
Old tv that requires you to plug your computer screen in to work
Beds squeak loudly
Carpet is heavily marked, filthy and thin
Itâs all just old and filthy and in need of a complete makeover.
Pasta sauce splashed on the cupboards
Plug is too big for the bathtub, canât bathe without holding it in. Canât do that and hold the baby at the same time
Hole in the back of one of the bedroom doors
Just feels like the owners couldnât be bothered taking care of the place. Itâs falling apart. Re-evaluate the minimum standards on this property!
