The Durant Station Condominiums offer spectacular ocean views and private oceanfront decks. Elevator service to all levels makes this property a convenient choice for all ages: there's no need to haul luggage or groceries up long flights of stairs.

You'll be just a few steps from the ocean via a private wooden walkway. Durant Station also offers many amenities, including one of Hatteras Island's largest pools with an adjacent hot tub. The Durant Station Community Center is crowned by the original historic Durant Lifesaving Station tower, a rich piece of Hatteras Island's past. The Community Center is ideal for relaxing with friends, conducting meetings, attending wedding parties and receptions, or simply enjoying the lounge areas, which offer a 50-inch plasma TV, a pool table, a gas fireplace, and a complete kitchen on the upper level.

This first-floor condo is tastefully furnished and well-equipped to make your stay comfortable and memorable. About Time features a private, 14-foot oceanfront deck, two TVs, satellite HDTV service with DVR, two DVD players, a CD player, and free high-speed WiFi.

Centrally located on the first floor is a coin-operated laundry facility (which even offers an ocean view). A large, separate fish-cleaning station, grills, and outdoor showers complete the picture.

Always a great stay at Durant Station

I always stay at a condo in Durant Station because it’s a great location. The elevator and luggage carts make it easily accessible and this pet-friendly condo is perfect.

Perfect location!

This place is perfect! On the beach with a heated pool, hot tub, home fully stocked in the kitchen, balcony with ocean view, so cozy, close to the ferry to ocracoke, the grocery store, orv ramp to spend a day on the beach in our jeep, ice cream shop, restaurants! They have a laundry room for you to use which was great so take some quarters so you dont have to do laundry when you get home! And the price, in July, for an entire week was excellent!!!! Definitely recommend this place for a perfect beach vacation!

Beautiful Island Village

Great place to stay at Durant Station. The condo was cozy, the furniture a bit worn. The beach access is phenomenal and it’s a beautiful place.

Anniversary trip

Vacassa and Durant Station at Outer Banks

Hatteras and on the beach at Durant Station was wonderful. We were right on the beach with great weather for our stay of one week. Everything was great! Will go back to the Outer Banks sometime soon!

Overall Good - But needs some attention

Overall great place. However, we did notice a brown spot on our comforter that made us very uncomfortable. I assume they only clean the sheets and not the comforter, but that still should be be changed out and washed for each guest. We also found 3 nails in the back parking lot area and under the carport. Very concerning as nobody wants a flat tire at the beach (or anywhere). Our deck didn’t drain all the water from rain. And there was a very noticeable soft spot in the center towards the front. So you can tell it had water damage through to the subfloor. I know there is a material over it that is supposed to protect that but it had a crack in it. I wasn’t worried about falling through, but that spot is only gonna get worse as time goes on, and it should be fixed as soon as possible. But it was a great stay, pool and hot tub was nice. And easy access to the beach.

Beware the bed

Obviously a lot of work has gone into furnishing and equipping this condo, and the result is very attractive. However, the bed in the bedroom has an extremely hard mattress with just a very lightly padded mattress cover between it and you. Unless you were planning to sleep in the living room anyway (where you can wake during the night to see the lights of fishing boats out on the ocean) , you are not likely to be comfortable staying here until something is done about the bed's mattress.

Great except for the bed

This property was incredibly convenient. An elevator, quick beach access, a pool, close to things. But it was not very clean. The bedding had many stains (comforter, sheets, pillow cases). All I require is a clean bed to sleep in on vacation. It’s a beach rental, you expect some stains in the kitchen and some sand. But I was disappointed in the bedding. Invest in some new pillows and linens and you have a winner!

3 rd stay at this condo

This is our third stay at this condo however first under this new management. The condo was clean however by day two we realized that it had fleas in the couch and chair. Did reach out to staff during the week that were loading supplies however no one got in touch with us. Also the deck was not swept after the people guests and black dog hair was on the chairs and seats. The deck was an easy fix and we still enjoyed our stay however the flea issue did become a “bit” of a set back . I sent an email to inquire how pet condos are cleaned between guests. ( possibly could do some sort of a flea bomb or spray)

A little piece of heaven.

I just want to say this first we loved our stay in Durant Station. We have been coming down here for over 12 years staying at Durant Station. But there are a few things I would like to bring to the owner’s attention. The balcony needs some work u have a very bad soft spot on the deck someone is going to fall through the floor. I understand that the unit is a pet friendly unit but there was dog hair all over the balcony. I had to sweep it up. On the inside of the unit the furniture needs updated the coffee tables n end tables have chew marks all over them. The cushions on the couch n chairs could use a good cleaning. The curtains where the sliding doors are really dirty to. All the storage units need a good cleaning out. Almost all the storage units had old rusted beach chairs umbrellas etc. Not sure what was happening with the carports but there were huge puddles of standing water. Those puddles were there the whole week not sure if something was leaking. I have never seen that before. I would also suggest u have someone go around the property and just pick up the trash around the grounds. The property management sure has changed at Durant Station..

Great ocean view condo

The condo was great with an ocean view. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the condo is on a raised first floor so we could see over the dunes to the ocean. We stayed off season (December 18-21) so it was very quiet, no issues with parking or loud neighbors. The unit came with bath towels and sheets. Also in the unit were: 2 rolls of TP, 1 roll of paper towels, 2 dishwasher pods, hand soap, dish soap, 3 packs of laundry soap and 2 garbage bags. The heat in the unit couldn’t be set to anything higher than 71 degrees. The walkways are right outside the bedroom so we could hear people (rarely) walking by. Sitting on the balcony all we could hear were the waves. The unit is directly across from the elevator which is great for moving in and out, but could be noisy if the building is busy. The unit could use some door mats at the front and balcony doors to catch some of the sand. The bedroom needs a second nightstand as well as extra pillowcases for the extra pillows. The unit has a drip coffee maker that works even though the hot plate is very rusty. We did find that coming in the off season made finding open restaurants a little difficult. We did catch the Snack Shop by the Ocracoke Ferry on its last day. The food was fabulous! All the other restaurants in Hatteras Village were closed, so we headed to Frisco and ate at the Tavern on 12. I highly recommend the pimento mac and cheese!

Bien situé

Condo très près de la mer; permet d’éviter de prendre la voiture pour se promener sur la longue plage. Ce logement est facile d’accès et comporte à peu près tout ce qui est nécessaire dans la cuisine. Lit confortable. À première vue impeccable; cependant les propriétaires d’animaux devraient être plus soucieux des autres et empêcher leur animal de compagnie de prendre place sur les sofas ou de prévoir une couverture le cas échéant. Les sofas mériteraient un nettoyage à fond.

Better than expected!

The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, plates, bowls and silverware. Some basics like salt, pepper and spices would have been nice but not a deal-breaker. The bedroom is right across from the elevator but it didn't bother us.

Comfortable place for two

This neat and updated unit (digital door lock and ‘smart’ thermostat) was perfect for my wife and me. Everything worked. Quiet neighbors. Ocean visible off the porch. They do ask you to unload the washed dishes before you leave (it would be better for new occupants to open the dishwasher to be assured they are clean) and some other chores, but worth it for the price and place.
