Prager Bay

We loved this property! Great location, very clean and cozy. Perfect for our family vacation. Easy to access and quiet area. House has everything you need except a crock pot. I had forgotten mine. Would definitely stay here again.

Friendly Get-together

Spent the weekend at this property with some friends that I grew up with. The place was clean and the property management team was very responsive. The only negative I could see was that some of the lights at the dock were not working which made fishing a little more difficult in the evening given how early it gets dark this time of year, but overall it was a great stay

Our very first vacation

Absolutely loved the house, the pool was amazing. Fishing was hit and miss off the dock. Will definitely be back again.

Beautiful location

House was perfect for our mini vacation! Had everything we needed... The lot the house sits on is huge and spacious... Our pup loved it! The pool was awesome and most enjoyable... The only negative (to no fault of the owners) was the mosquitos... They were terrible... Being outside after dusk was unbearable... Overall we would stay here again!

Beautiful views! Big sided beautiful sided fenced yard

This is a cozy and beautiful views house with a fun big green grass sided fenced yard, with a pool and access to water. Kids enjoyed canoing while also having access to the beach within 10 minutes! We had a great Easter!

Great location.Great Yard. We spent very little time inside the house because the weather was so nice out.We didnt cook or do laundy but it looked like it was well stocked with all you might need.There is a nice area at ground level with a bed and bathroom but we didnt need that area.Being on the main canal is the best. Will do it again!

Thanksgiving getaway

Pros : Good area, good fishing, awesome view, great pool, fenced side yard is good especially if you have a pet, good pots and pans in the kitchen....we had every thing we needed to make thanksgiving lunch....really enjoyed the time there P.S every house has its flaws just some more than others here are the cons Cons: really bad smell in the bottom bed room, outside furniture needs updating, found a couple of roaches in the kitchen, also renting straight through ryson Rentals will save you about 200 dollars

Jamaica Beach Home

The house was very nice. Our family enjoyed are stay. The only down fall was that the bedroom downstairs had a really bad odor. It smelt like mold or pesticide. No one wanted to stay in that room. But we made it work by opening the windows and placed a plug in and sprayed room deodorizer. Overall it was great!

Family friendly and clean ❤

We rented Prager Bay and really enjoyed our experience. We came with my in-laws, our 2 little girls and 2 dogs, so the fenced in yard was perfect. We spent many nights fishing but mostly caught sand trout and catfish. This home came with everything we needed and was very clean. There was even board games for the kids and books for the adults, even though I didn't get the chance to read any I am a huge lover of books and loved that I had options. The location was just right, being away from all the crowds in Galveston but close enough we could go there any time we wanted. And having the beach right across the street from the community was perfect. Thank you so much Bill and Susan for sharing your home with us!

Stinky room

The room downstairs smells terrible. It’s smells like both mildew and roach spray. We didn’t use it, it didn’t seem safe to sleep in it, it smelled kinda toxic

As advertised

Based on the location and the knowledge of the area the house was as expected. The price point was on par with the current market but based on the house itself seemed a little expensive. The house is nice, and we had a great time. We brought our boat, and tied it up outside the dock. Please note that the Jamaica Beach community requires a permit to utilize their boat launch and the patrol officer that verifies permits is not the nicest of people; we had to drive to neighboring Pirates Beach to launch which was an inconvenience.

The property was located on a corner and there is a huge fenced in yard next to it. Plenty of room!

The house is really cozy and friendly. You feel at home when you walk in. The living, dining and kitchen all have views to the canal and bay since the house is located by the exit to Galveston Bay. The deck is huge and it’s view is perfect. It was too windy and cold to fish but it has a perfect set up for that. The fishing lights at night were so tempting to battle the cold but it really was cold...in the 30’s. Our Cocker Spainiels loved all the room to run in the fenced in yard. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook. I enjoy cooking and I never needed for anything, which is priceless when you enjoy being in the kitchen preparing meals! The bed was really comfortable. But the piece of furniture that sealed the deal was the double recliner! You don’t see these much anymore but wow, what a treasure!! Nothing better than a hot cup of coffee in the morning with your feet kicked up watching the morning news show before you start your day. We loved the house and we look forward to another stay soon!

Paradise away from Home!

We spent 4 nights at the home. It has everything needed to have a great time. My kids loved the pool, my husband fished every evening throughout the night during high tide (around midnight) and the wee hours of morning. . The secret to his success was using squid as bait. As soon as he switched up from shrimp then he caught lots of fish every night. He caught trout, redfish, and catfish. My son caught crab in the trap. The home was stocked with everything to make us comfortable. The only thing we would be sure to bring next time is spices for cooking (there wasn’t anything like we have seen in other houses where there was some leftovers from previous guests etc) and a life jacket for a child or youth for Kayaking. There are adult life jackets on hand. The house was great for our dogs with a large lot for them to run. We will definitely book again next year!!!

Fantastic place

We would certainly stay here again. There was a small snafu with the underwater fishing light, but we loved this place. The fishing was excellent. You didn't even have to get your feet wet. The reds, trout, drum and flounder were all caught right off the back deck on the incoming tides. The swimming pool was a lifesaver. The beach was blown out with the SW winds, so having the pool kept the kids happy. The large yard was fantastic as well. there was a little miscommunication at check in, but the property managers did a fantastic job of being responsive.

Great location with 2 real bedrooms

Check in process was fast and east at the Ryson property office. Got two keys to the house that were listed as a 3 bedroom home. This 1970-built home was nicely equipped with a kitchen and a fishing dock. Caught many crocker, Red fish, cat fish, and some crab (you must supply your own trap.) Now for the cons: When we paid near $2300 for 3 nights (total with tax and fees) for the house for 6 people total, there comes an expectation that the house will be comfortable and clean. Firstly, we quickly found out that the 1st level separate room (modified from a storage space it appeared) could not be used due to the bug spray feum to a point we could not seat in the room for more than a minute without feeling nausea. We tried tockeep the door open but the smell of that petroleum just would not go away. So that room was left untouched the whole time. Secondly, the 2nd room upstairs king bed had its bed sheet on with a big urine mark along with a few clipped finger nails under the bed coversheet when we arrived. The sheet appears to be washed but not all the way may be. But that had to be changed. Drove to the office take the whole dirty sheets to exchange for a clean one . They told us the maint will bring us a new king size sheet. It did not happen until the following day 10:45am. So yes, all six people cramped on master bed and on a sofa. Called the emergency number also, no one had returned. Really rough night and no sleeping we decided to drive to a store and shop a bed sheet sets to use and we did exactly that. Got us some sleep. Another thing is that the house had the home owner images everywhere. Felt never like home away from home as we felt as we were living in someone else’s house with the owner watching us over (yes there were security cameras here there) Overall the house was clean but well maintained. However it did not stop us from having some fun on the boat dock fishing. Conclusion: I will not come back to this home at this price.

Nice property, 2 out of 3 nights AC problem.

The property was very nice, had a AC problem 2 out of 3 nights, left a day early. Felt treated fair had a refund for 2 nights. We will try again. (old fat folks can't take heat).
