Welcome to this beautiful modern style home in Bay Harbor Galveston located on the bay front. This home features breathtaking views as well as a spacious layout. This home is located on the Bayfront in a residential neighborhood where many of the neighbors reside year round.

Bahia Azul Sunset has 6 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms and can accommodate up to 12 people comfortably. This home was completely renovated after hurricane Ike. It features 6 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, as well as a study with a sofa. The entire home is accented with panoramic views, with the Galveston Bay on one side and the protected Estuary garden on the other. The only thing between you and the sunset is the water. The well decorated open living room offers the best views in the house. The kitchen has been fully upgraded with granite countertops, brand new appliances as well as a trash compactor.

There is a primary suite downstairs with a king bed. To get to the other five bedrooms you will climb the beautiful winding wooden staircase. The first primary suite features a king bed and en suite bath on this floor has direct deck access for an unforgettable way to start or end your day! The second master bedroom also has a king bed. Third bedroom has a queen bed. The fourth bedroom has a queen bed. The fifth bedroom has twin over twin bunk plus a twin over twin trundle (sleeps 4 in this room). The sixth bedroom is furnished with a twin over twin bunk plus a twin with trundle (sleeps 4 in this room). On the lower deck you have access to a large outdoor patio setting with a charcoal grill for the fresh catch of the day. Underneath is a wonderful breezeway and boat house. As well as a bathroom and outdoor shower, which comes in handy for time spent swimming and sunbathing. The home is equipped to be your home away from home. Bahia Azul Sunset awaits you!

Bay Harbor does not have access to a boat ramp. If you plan on launching your boat, you will need to go to the public launch in Jamaica Beach.

Bad experience! This house was misrepresented by its pictures. Very run down! Smelled like mold, doors broken, no consistent hot water, bathroom locks did not work, bugs in bathtub, dirty towel left on deck, and only one TV 28 inch that alllowed streaming. I complained on Wednesday 11/26/25 upon checking in and no one called or came during our entire stay to remedy the issues. Very disappointing!

Rushed off by tropical storm

Overall a great stay on Galveston Island west end; second year in this unit. We chose it a second year due to location on bay. Overall our 4th stay with VRBO. Mother Nature cut our trip short by one day as we left early due to rising water

Great Stay

We had an amazing stay! The view from both inside and outside the house was breathtaking and peaceful. Our family was never bored with all the entertainment options available, from kids' toys and board games to movies, books, and streaming services on the smart TV. Although beach equipment wasn't provided, there were coolers and ice packs in the freezer, which came in handy. The location was perfect, with a short drive to the beach where parking was surprisingly uncrowded even during the 4th of July weekend. Additionally, the dock was a great spot for fishing. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this property!

Weekend say started good

Renting the house for a weekend getaway with family and friends started out great. The house is on the water and very roomy for the number of people we had. But washing machine wouldn’t work, microwave above the stove didn’t work so they had a mini microwave on the counter. Biggest issue as after the 4th day the main area of the houses AC unit went out.

Thank you for your review and feedback. Typically if an AC goes out, we're able to repair on the same day. However, in the middle of the hot summer, we can truly understand what an inconvenience that is. If there's anything else we could have done, please let us know.

Galveston Getaway

Our overall impression of this property was favorable. There were a few issues that need attention for a rental in this price range. First, there were a number of issues with insects inside the house. Second, the stove igniter did not work and we had to hand light it. Third, the garbage can receptacle in the kitchen was hard to open and we just kept a trash bag on the floor. Lastly, the living room TV is entirely to small for viewing.

Bay House Getaway

The property was great in terms of comfortably sleeping all of our family members and a couple of friends. The layout of the rooms and bathrooms is a little strange and wasn't very clear on the website, but the house as a whole is very nice with the most amazing sunset views!! The bonus with this house is that they are very accommodating for children as my three year old nephew had plenty of toys and books to play with on both floors making life a little easier for the adults. An added plus was there are secure gates allowing us to close off stair access at night and letting us all sleep a little easier. There were some things broken on our arrival, such as the coffee carafe on the coffee maker, a lamp upstairs and one of the ceiling fans in the bedrooms. I am sure this is part of the territory when renting a house, but I wish those things had been inspected a little more closely prior to our arrival and at least notified us ahead of time so we could be prepared. The location is a little far from the "action" of Galveston, but that is also part of its charm. The area is very quiet and easy to get to with a nice surrounding homes as well. Overall, we had a wonderful time across the board with adults and children all having an amazing little winter vacation.

Good stay for a weekend with couples

The house was good for a weekend with 3 couples. It was clean upon arrival and had a nice outdoor space to enjoy. It would be nice if the kitchen came a little more equipped with the basics (more than 1 roll of papers, 1 trash bag and 1 thing of dishwasher detergent, salt, pepper) We had to buy all that ourselves, which was fine but for an expensive stay it would have been nice to have some of those things. Overall I would recommend for a group weekend on the back bay of Galveston.

Family Birthday Weekend

Great property for celebrating our daughters 40th birthday. Spacious and well equipped. Great fishing from the dock. Breathtaking sunsets. Very comfortable for our party of 6 adults and 6 children.

Christmas in Galveston

The amenities offered on the outside of this property were nice. (i.e. decks, pier) The overhead lights over the boat slip were inoperable. Just FYI, the boat ramp for the development is not available for the house guests to use. Therefore, you had to access the water via Jamaica Beach - 6 miles away. The interior of this property does not realistically reflect what was described. Two of the "bedrooms" were accessed through other bedrooms making it difficult for 2 families to divide the space. In addition, the bathrooms between 4 of the bedrooms on the 2nd floor are connected through 2 separate pocket doors. This made it difficult for sharing the bathrooms. The beds are not comfortable at all and need to be replaced. The furniture in the living room was old and not comfortable and is coming apart. The TV in the living room is very small for the area and should be larger to accommodate all guests being able to watch TV. The staircase creaks very loudly when going up/down the stairs. There is a built in gate at the top of the stairs on the 2nd floor. The stair at the top is so narrow that it is dangerous when navigating the gate to gain access to the 2nd floor. The toilets were not in great shape and stopped up frequently. No bath mats were made available. The ventilation in the kitchen is not great. In order to avoid setting off the smoke alarm when using the cook top, the ventahood needed to be running as well as opening the kitchen windows in order to have the proper circulation. In addition the cook top had no markings. We experienced the same issue with the oven because it was not clean. The coffee pot definitely needs to be replaced. It took 20 minutes to brew a pot of coffee. There is a keurig available, but if you prefer a coffee pot, beware! Fortunately, we brought many of our own kitchen supplies (i.e. potholders, knives, etc) not knowing what to expect, and it was good that we did. We had to purchase a skillet because the one provided was small and scratched up. No broom was provided for clean up. It is advertised with 4.5 baths, but we only had access 4 baths. We were not given access to the .5 bath at the patio level. The level of compensation being asked for this property definitely does not align with what was provided.

Beautiful sunsets and comfortable accommodations!

Bahia Azul Sunet accommodations were one of the absolute best in the Galveston area. The property was clean and very welcoming. Every morning and every evening we sat out on the balcony and enjoyed the view from the balcony that goes around the entire house. From the time this property was booked to the day we checked out I was very pleased with the staff and the house. We would definitely re-book this property.

Absolutely perfect!

We rented this house for a family get-together and absolutely loved it! It is beautiful!! The house itself, the location, the furnishings, the layout of rooms - everything was exactly as we had hoped and even better when we saw those views! We had 11 adults and 3 children in total and had more than enough room for all of us. Everyone loved the view from the deck and the covered breezeway. (That breezeway was huge!) We had room to spread out for visiting, card playing and just watching the sunsets. And the kids had plenty of room to play and loved the toys at the house. (The baby gates on each floor were a wonderful surprise! No worries about any of the little ones taking a tumble.) We had the best weekend and could not have asked for a better house to call home base! We will definitely be staying here again and have told all of our friends about it too! Gorgeous property!
