Our 28 day stay at Meagan's Beach House was not long enough! Maria and Mike were most welcoming and ever helpful/responsive to our needs. The house itself is charming and comfortable with everything you could wish for... for cooking and entertaining as well as just hanging out. We feel very lucky to have found this gem.
This property was excellent! The best we have had. The house had all the amenities needed to enjoy a short term or long term stay, and if something was needed then the owners were prompt to respond. By far the view was the also the best we have had. Plenty of ocean life under the dock, Manatees stopping by as will as dolphin. Plenty to watch as its a stones throw from Adamâs cut and the ocean beyond.
Thank you Miguel & Maria for opening your wonderful home for rent. We haven't been that relaxed in a very long time and we wanted to let everyone know, don't hesitate to rent this adorable home, you will not be disappointed!
Location, amenities, fully stocked for any cooking, dock, view, everything was pristine! Thanks again! See you soon!
Wonderful experience. Maria and Mike were very attentive to any concerns we had before and during our stay. Great location on the water in a quiet, nice neighborhood. We brought two dogs (Springer & Jack Russel Terrier) and they loved the fenced yard and spacious interior of house. The house was well outfitted (tv's, towels, dishes, kitchen tools and spices) and very comfortable. House was exactly as advertised and lived up to it's description. Both of us would go back in a minute!
I really can't say enough about this stay. The house was comfortable, well appointed, charming, clean, and in a fantastic location. Maria and Miguel were also wonderful to interact with. I would return again in a heartbeat.
Home was perfect for two couples, my son even stayed a few nights. Maria and Miguel were very welcoming and responded quickly to all our questions. We fished off the dock and my husband landed and released large tarpon. We saw sharks
, stingrays and parrot fish. We very much enjoyed founders park beach in islomarada. Snorkeled there a lot. Beautiful easy beach. The house met all are needs perfectly! Would recommend this home enthusiastically! Thanks mariađ
Meagan's Beach House is an amazing beach house and perfect place to stay when visiting the keys. The house is beautifully decorated in a coastal theme and is immaculate when you step inside. We spent every afternoon enjoying the ocean breeze from the back porch, or laying on the dock looking for sea life. We've been lucky enough to have seen manatees, dolphins, sting rays and nurse sharks swim by. We also appreciate the illuminated dock because we can watch the tarpon hunting at night. Also, you will not find a better place to watch the gorgeous Key Largo sunset than on their dock. Maria and Mike are a pleasure to work with, and check-in and check-out couldn't be any easier. I highly recommend!
We loved everything about our stay. Maria was reassuring with all of the details as this was our first HomeAway stay. The home is very beachy and cozy. We saw manatees, shrimp, crab, fish, and dolphins right from the dock. We fished, kayaked, and people watched for a week.
The weather was beautiful as it snowed 7 inches in Wisconsin. It was between 75-82 degrees all week.
There were great restaurants in the area. Lots of shopping.
We highly recommend this place. Would stay here again in a heart beat.
Meagan's Beach House is a true gem. We just returned from spending a week here for our kid's Spring Break. We wanted to come down to Key Largo for my son to complete his Open Water SCUBA certification. We feel very fortunate to have been able to book and stay at Meagan's Beach House. Words will not do it justice, and others who have posted reviews are probably far more eloquent than I will manage. We have stayed in our fair share of rental homes, and our experience here was first class. Maria and Mike are excellent hosts.
The house itself is very comfortable, and perfectly decorated to put you into the FL Keys state of mind. It has been very well stocked with towels, blankets, pillows, and kitchen-ware, as well as consumables such as tp, paper towels, and garbage bags. When you go shopping for your stay, you won't need to worry about the small stuff. The house was very clean, and kept nice and cool by the AC. Although we spent most of our time outdoors on the amazing back porch and Adirondack chairs in the sand.
The property is a small lot, but it doesn't feel small. It has very thick vegetation growing along the sides of the property that provide plenty of privacy from the adjoining houses, as well as providing a really attractive view. The location could not be better, directly on the water with the huge dock out into the bay, and right next to Angler's Cut. It was great to watch all the incredible boats coming and going through the cut while we swam, fished, and kayaked from the dock. During our stay, there was a constant population of fish congregating around the dock, especially at night with the underwater lights on. We also were visited by sting rays, nurse sharks, turtles, tarpon, crabs, and a family of manatees right under the dock. For our kids, they could not have been more excited to be there.
I would highly recommend Meagen's Beach House for your trip to Key Largo, unless it is at the same time that we want to come back for our next stay.
Thank you Maria and Mike!
This property is absolutely beautiful and was perfect! The house was super clean and well stocked!
Maria was a perfect host! She greeted us and was always available for questions. The fruit and bottle of wine were pleasant gifts. The house was perfectly cleaned and stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed fishing off the dock, swimming, and kayaking. We had the pleasure of enjoying three manatees who spent approximately one hour with us! We also enjoyed catching shrimp and fishing off the dock at night! The dock is well lit and perfect for night time fishing. This was our forth year in the keys and our most enjoyable vacation so far. Thank you Maria and Mike for sharing your piece of paradise with us! We hope to be back again!
We enjoyed our two weeks at Meaganâs Beach House in 2014 so much that we vowed to make the long journey from the UK again. Planning for our four week visit started a full year in advance and we had invested significant funds and emotion in the project when Irma came on the scene to threaten our dream of returning. It was welcome news when Maria contacted us two weeks after Irma struck to let us know that the property had survived with only minor damage that was already being repaired. We were determined to get to Key Largo to support the Keys folk. Fortunately the Keys reopened to tourists before we flew.
On arrival at The Beach House it was just as clean and tidy as when we left it in 2014 and we could detect very little impact of the hurricane. This is the cleanest, best maintained rental property we have ever stayed in and the owners Maria and Mike the warmest of hosts. The owners clearly love the property, using it themselves when they can, and that love shows in the way the house is presented and equipped. The delightful Beach House theme is consistently applied from the front gate to the end of the dock. As in 2014, the wildlife seen from the verandah overlooking the sea was a highlight for us. We saw ospreys, pelicans, belted kingfisher, herons, egrets and cormorants fishing (successfully) most days. Dolphin fins and manatee snouts were seen a few times just off the end of the dock where at night the mangrove snappers put on predatory displays chasing small fish and shrimp whilst cleaning up anything we threw in for them.
By the time we arrived the tourist industry of Key Largo was back in action just six weeks after the hurricane passed through. Snorkelling and scuba boats were operating as was the glass bottom boat near Holiday Inn. We enjoyed swimming at Jacobs Aquatic Center. Restaurants next to US1 and bayside were back to normal serving delicious fresh fish. The Fish House, Snooks, Conch House and Mrs Macâs Kitchen (breakfast) were all worth multiple visits. The Atlantic side was impacted by the storm surge and a couple of our favourites were badly damaged, but Snappers had reopened on a limited scale with a smaller Irmageddon menu restricted to popular items that they could produce to an excellent standard in a temporary kitchen.
Overall we found the Keys to be battered but not cowed and recovering rapidly. Meaganâs Beach House remains our #1 choice of a place to stay in the Keys and we recommend it highly.
The property is clean, has really everything you need, and in a beautiful spot. Maria could not have been more gracious. The two bedrooms were perfectly set up with comfortable linens and more towels than you could use! The pull out sofa was great if you wanted an extra bed. There were all of those 'extras' that made this an easy place to stay - paper towels, garbage bags, dish soap - so you didn't have to purchase everything for a short visit. Maria left us a list of recommended restaurants and things to do - and her recommendations perfectly suited us. If you plan to visit the upper Keys, I recommend Meaghan's Beach Cottage!!!!

Our family's 7th Year At Meagan's Beach House!
Maria literally has thought of every little detail to make her home feel like ours! We just returned from our month stay in Meagan's Beach House and it definitely surprises us every year. Mike and Maria are quick and attentive to our needs and extremely helpful. They even helped us launch, moor and secure our boat to our private dock. They answered every phone call and question within minutes. They share important information and recommendations for fishing, restaurants shopping etc. Wow, I truly missed the gorgeous views! Being able to sit on the porch and watch our grandkids play on the beach was just amazing. We encountered manatees, dolphins, tarpons and different birds. My son and daughters enjoyed paddle boarding, snorkeling and fishing from the dock which extends out into the bay making you feel like you're in the middle of paradise. We enjoyed a glass of wine while our grandkids counted stars. We cooked fish that our grandkids caught from the bay. Can't get any better than this!
The amenities are outstanding. It has a wonderful gas grill just steps from the water, a well stocked kitchen, nice towels and linens. Just too many to list. The entire property inside and out is very clean and secure. The community is quiet and laid back. We have made beautiful memories at our home away from home. My family can't thank you enough Maria and Mike for being so gracious and caring.
See you soon!

My Husband and I just spent 5 days at Meagan's Beach House for our 23rd Wedding Anniversary. We have rented many Homes from VRBO and this would rank one of the highest. The property was very clean and well kept. The kitchen has just about any and everything you need for cooking and entertaining. The owners answer any and all questions you have quickly and are very nice. Maria even went out of her way to make sure we had the beverage of our choice there when we arrived. She sent a email with restaurant recommendations and things to do in the area. I would highly recommend staying here. My husband and I wanted peace , quiet and to be able to just relax and that's exactly what we got. The sunsets from the dock are amazing and very romantic. As far as restaurants in the area I would highly recommend Harriet's or Mrs Macks for Breakfast and The Fish House or Buzzards Roost for Lunch or dinner. The Homemade coconut ice cream at the fish house is amazing. We can't wait to come back . Thank you Maria for sharing your beautiful place with us !!!!!
My family and I just concluded a stay at Meagan's Beach House and it was nothing short of spectacular! Maria is prompt, extremely responsive, attentive, thoughtful, and extremely accommodating. The place is immaculate, cute and quaint. Such a lovely place for a family vacation.
The only issue had nothing to do with Maria or her property...in fact, her response makes this property even that much better. The neighbors are currently building a house and Maria called me before we rented to tell me about the noise (which was not bad at all) and to be very upfront about the situation. Her transparency was admirable, much appreciated, and one of the many reason we had an outstanding time. We would rent here again without a doubt! Maria, thank you for such a lovely time!
My family and I just spent 6 glorious days at this beach house. This is by far the nicest VRBO we have ever rented. Maria and Miguel were wonderful with communication and even responded to our questions while they were on their own Christmas vacation. Being welcomed with a bottle of wine and chocolates was a fun surprise!! This house has everything you will need for a Comfortable and lovely stay. We had 6 in our group and there was plenty of room and privacy. The deck was absolutely perfect for dinnner outside every night, we barbecued fresh fish and sat outside most nights as we could not get enough of the gorgeous views. We ate out once at the Fish House , which was excellent as well. The grocery shopping is close and convenient and the kitchen is perfect for all your cooking needs. My kids, hubby and I loved the canoe and paddle boards as well. We explored the various canals , siteseeing the beautiful homes and boats. We drove to Key West two times and it is a beautiful drive. The town has a lot to see so be sure and spend some time there. We did a sunset cruise on the sail boat "Hindu"..... I highly recommend it! Also don't miss the Bahia Honda State park. It is breathtaking!! I am very happy we choose this Beach house , it is always hard just picking something off the Internet and looking at photos. This house is more beautiful than you can imagine! The location couldn't be more perfect! We were sad to leave....We hope to return again though. Thank you Maria and Miguel for a wonderful, memory making stay!
My husband and I spent 5 nights at Meagan's Beach house. We had a wonderful time. Miguel and Maria are wonderful, kind and responsive. The house is perfect. It's decorated in a gorgeous Key's style. We could not get over how lovely it was, not to mention immaculate. The view is gorgeous, and make sure to check out the dock at night. We even cooked a couple of nights, the kitchen is better equipped than mine! Bought fresh fish at the Fish House, so good. We look forward to renting this property again
Miguel & Maria,
Thank you so much for sharing your home. The fruit basket and bottle of wine on arrival was a thoughtful touch. The house is fully equipped with all the kitchen appliances and gadgets you could ever use as well as the latest in electronics. The interior & exterior were spotless clean. The rear covered deck was the perfect place to sit and watch the clouds, birds, boats, and waves go by with a cold beer, or drink in hand, of course.
We had a wonderful week as Key Largo has much to see and do as well as the history of the Keys to explore. Lots of good restaurants locally as well as all the local Brew Pubs. It was fun tasting all the local brews. Also convenient was having the John Pennekamp State Park virtually across the street.. The snorkeling at the off-shore reefs was terrific. Watching the 2-3 foot Tarpon swimming around in the lights, at the end of your dock, after dark was also a treat.
All and all, we had the perfect time, with nothing but praise for you and Miguel, and your "Piece of Heaven". Thanks.
Meagan's Beach House is an extremely well appointed and impeccably well kept and clean home. While there are many homes in the neighborhood the home and property is laid out to make you feel like you are far from anyone. Very convenient to all local attractions or sit on the porch and stare at the beautiful bay. I would definitely stay here again.
Meagan's Beach House is exactly as you see on their website...inviting, relaxing, loved the beach theme and was completely furnished with anything that you would need. Groceries were the only things required; shopping and sightseeing nearby and easily accessible.
So enjoyed sitting on the covered deck or chairs out on the dock. Hint: always take your camera with you while walking the dock with morning coffee (or anytime). We saw fish, stingray and manatees.
We would highly recommend spending time at Meagan's Beach House as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you, Maria & Miguel!
What an amazing place to stay in the Keys. The house is beautifully decorated, and the location could not be beat. We were able to snorkel and canoe right out our back door, and we were even lucky enough to see manatees and dolphins. Mike and Maria were friendly and inviting hosts and were there to welcome us upon arrival with a basket full of fresh fruit and wine. I loved this place so much, I already booked a return trip! Thanks Mike and Maria for a wonderful stay, and see you soon!
Megan's Beach House, simply put, is perfect. The house is immaculate and everything that you would need is there for you. We stopped at a grocery store to get perishable items and that was it! The views at sunset are picture perfect. It's a very quiet area and so relaxing. I hope to return again because I don't have anything but compliments to give. Thanks Maria and Miguel for opening your home so others can enjoy too. :)
The Beach House theme is consistently applied to this property from the front gate to the end of the dock creating a wonderful holiday atmosphere. We found the Beach House clean and comfortable and it couldnât be more fully equipped. The photos on the HomeAway web site reflect what we found in real life. The neighbourhood is quiet, yet close to shops and a good range of food outlets. The view from the back of the house is outstanding â plenty of passing boats to watch but not so close as to be intrusive. Sitting in the comfort of the verandah at the rear overlooking Blackwater Sound we were able to watch ospreys, kingfishers and pelicans fishing and we were visited by herons most days. From the dock we fed the fish (they seemed to like left over rice from the local Thai restaurant as well as bread and chopped shrimp) and saw a small stingray, tarpon and other smaller species, but the highlight was the group of seven manatees which swam in one calm evening, checked us out, decided we were harmless but not as interesting as the sea grass, so they just carried on feeding just a few feet from us. The manatees stayed for over an hour which was such a treat. From the Beach House it was easily possible to visit the Everglades and other wildlife sites in the Upper and Middle Keys. The snorkelling was good using the local dive company and we swam with barracuda and many other colourful fishes. We are saving up for a return visit.
This is the 2nd year we have stayed here for 2 weeks. Miguel and Maria were there to greet us upon arrival. FYI, if you have any problems or questions during your stay, they are quick to respond. There were several upgrades since last year. A totally renovated master bathroom with tile shower. The master bedroom has a brand new king size bed. The kitchen has a brand new refrigerator. Clearly the owners care about their beautiful home. We love it for so many reasons because everything is included! The house is clean, all linens and towels included. A really well stocked kitchen. Gorgeous, water views from nearly every room. We enjoyed sitting and reading in the backyard beach area, watching sunsets and manatees from the dock, and eating outside on the porch. Just come and be ready to get relaxed and lose track of the days! One particular day, we saw the most beautiful rainbow over the bay! Our favorite happy hour restaurant is Snook's Bayside and Lorelei, (Islamorada). Our favorite restaurants are Snappers, Sundowners, Fishhouse, and Buzzards Roost. We bought and cooked fresh Hogfish, Stone Crabs, Yellowtail Snapper, and Shrimp from Key Largo Fisheries, who also serve lunch outside at a marina. We will definitely be back next year.
