YOU CAN'T GET CLOSER TO DOWNTOWN GILBERT THAN THIS. Only .2 miles from incredible DT Gilbert; including famous local restaurants, bars, the Hale theater, shops & a Saturday morning Farmer's Market. This completely remodeled property has top-of-the-line everything. Outdoor fireplace for the winter. Commercial grade misting system on patio to keep you outside longer in the summer. SUPER FAST Wifi. Less than 20 minutes to PHX Sky Harbor Airport or PHX-Mesa Gateway Airport.
My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. The kids had a lot of fun playing at the game table and we appreciated the televisions in every room. The kitchen was beautiful and well appointed. I was even able to bake a birthday cake during our stay. We brought our dog along and he was very comfortable. The completely fenced in yard was wonderful. We were happy to be within walking distance to all the great restaurants downtown. We will definitely stay again!
The property was very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the grass and covered patio. One suggestion is to have a few pieces of firewood for your guests and where to purchase more. A wine opener would have been nice too. The water trough is a blow-up, rubber pool that barely serves a purpose.
The house is amazing, everything looks brand new. Great back yard to relax, played a lot of cornhole.
Location is awesome, couple block walk to multiple restaurants/bars in downtown Gilbert. Plenty of parking in downtown Gilbert as well if you're not up for a short walk.
We didn't have time to use the outdoor fireplace but it is a great feature, not your typical small circular pit. It is like everything in this house, done right!
The house is super cute and very clean. It had everything we needed. The location to downtown is perfect, you can walk and there are lots of bars and restaurants.
Seriously - one of the best VRBOs we have stayed at. Super close to downtown Gilbert and the renovations done on the property are amazing. Communication from the owners was super prompt. They really care that you have a great stay! We will definitely be back!

The truth behind the property
It is important to understand the problems that we encountered with their property. We post this not to bash, but to let other families know what to expect.
1. The toilet in the primary bedroom didnât work or flush.
2. The lights under the bed in the kids bedroom donât work.
3. The thermostat was on a âeco scheduleâ so every night it started heating the house to 75 degrees. My husband was able to reset the nest thermostat.
4. The miniature trough in the back yard is more of an ice bath. We werenât expecting a hot tub, but definitely not something kids and play in during winter months.
5. And the most frustrating thing about the property were the trains. This train tracks are LITERALLY 20 yards from the back of the house. The train passes by the house around 5 times a day. Including 2-3:00 in the morning. Our kids were woken up during nap times, and during the middle of the night at the trains honked their horns as they drove by.
In regards to the management:
They claim we did a liquid stain on a couch cushion. Something a carpet cleaning company could easily resolve . They instead of cleaning the cushion, or taking the liner off and washing it, LIED and said that the entire couch needed to be replaced. A $600 stain! Run away! And stay away from this property. They are in for a quick buck.
Thanks to Alison for being such a great host. The place was decorated so cute and great location for walking to downtown Gilbert. We would definitely stay here again.
Place was great. We really enjoyed it. Clean and well stocked. Close to Gilbert. There is a train track behind and you will hear it. Owners very responsive.
This place is cute, comfortable and all around perfect. The hosts were amazing and extremely responsive. All the details were considered.
We are looking forward to our next trip and will definitely rebook
Itâs been 10 days since our stay and I still can not stop smiling. My mom and my Aunt were visiting Arizona for the first time and I wanted to give them an amazing experience. I was drawn in by the beautiful photos in the listing. I loved the desert theme and thought this might make their visit more of an adventure. Alison and Jason really thought of every little detail when preparing this property for guests. They were so welcoming and easy to reach for random questions as needed. My expectations were exceeded and then some. Yours will be too! We hope we can make it back later in the year! So grateful we found the Purple Prickly Pear!!
This was my first time actually booking a Vrbo property for my family. Wow was it amazing. The communication with the host was outstanding and very attentive to our needs. Communication was great answered all questions in a timely manner.
The house itself was amazing. Warm on arrival clean and very attractive. No detail was overlooked. Walking distance to a few local restaurants. Highly recommended.
You will be doing yourself a disservice if you pass up on this property. Cant wait to book again in the summer!!
The purple prickly pear was just as advertised. We had a great time and the location can't be beat! Looking forward to a return trip and maybe next year there will be spring training baseball.
The property was very well maintained. All the details taken care of. Communication with the owners was easy and timely. The property was in easy walking distance to a lot of restaurants. We had a great time with all of the provided games. Overall a great experience.
The location was excellent: within walking distance of Downtown Gilbert. The remodel of the property was fabulous. It got rave reviews from all that saw to. The bride stayed with me the night before her wedding which was great.
The only negative was the train noise but that was tolerable.
Overall a great place (would love the appliances in my house)!
Alison grew up in Arizona on a 1,000 cow dairy farm and went to school for merchandising. Jason grew up in Florida and went to school for Fashion Design. As fate would have it, Alison would travel for work to Florida, where she met Jason in 2004, and the rest is history.
Married since 2006 with three darling daughters, we live in Arizona on a mini-farm with nearly 50 chickens, alpacas, pigs, and one bunny and guinea pig.
We love to travel as much as possible when the girls are not in school.
