My wife and I booked here with our 15 month old to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary. When we first booked, we were under the impression that we were staying in “Historic Kennett Square” as that was exactly what the house was listed as. Come to find out, we were a 10 minute drive from downtown Kennett Square, on a main highway and a main intersection. We didn’t mind that at first because that was our own mistake for not doing more research on the location. When we first walked in, the inside of the house was immaculate and exactly as pictured. However, there was a strong odor in what my wife strongly felt was cigarettes. The listing said non-smoking. The smell was so strong that we slept with the bedroom windows open, even with the very loud road noise! We contacted the host the next morning and told her we would be checking out early as we both woke up with sore throats. We offered to of course cover the cost for the night we stayed but kindly asked for a refund on the 2nd night as we checked out early. The host did not believe us and went to the property to tell us she didn’t smell anything. At this point, it was our word against hers so we are out 500 for the night. If I were you, I would explore other options.
