Notre vacances Adirondack House est situé dans le village de montagne pittoresque Chestertown avec commodité pour le shopping et manger dans nos restaurants. La maison est propre, très spacieux qui rend idéal pour une famille élargie, propre et joliment meublée. Notre clôture de bois de cèdre entourant la piscine au sol est juste le bon remède du soleil de midi. Vous pouvez monter votre vélo à Loon Lake et à l'équitation en face du lac ou Circle B Ranch. Lake George est à seulement 15 à 20 minutes. Grand ski à Gore Mt. est à 15 minutes comme ce est Rafting en eaux vives dans l'Hudson. Loon Lake avec sa belle plage de sable est à seulement 3 minutes en voiture de nous. Il y a des sentiers de randonnée à proximité et des rivières pour aller pêcher dans

The property is immense! We ended up being 7 adults and 6 children and there was no problem with sleeping/playing space. The pool is immaculately maintained. Although there were a couple of bumps in the road, the owner and staff were quick to remedy. I particularly enjoyed the screened in porch! A true pleasure for a gal not into dealing with the negative parts of nature, i.e. bugs, bees, etc.! I would heartily recommend this property for fun loving families...with a shout out to The Remington Restaurant who accomodated our large family with wonderful food and drink!

The house was beautiful and charming and plenty of space. We have no complaints but recommend hand towels in the bathrooms. Probably will look up this place again for a skiing trip this winter.

75th Wedding Anniversary Weekend

There were 15 of us staying. This house was able to accommodate all of us and the young ones loved the pool! There was plenty of seating for meals. We enjoyed ourselves

Lots of character! Lovely pool!

It is an older house with a lot of character. For our very large family. The pool was super clean and a hit with everyone. Very convenient to lake George, and having a grocery store a very short walk away was a huge bonus!

Charming House

The house has a lot of character. Great quiet neighborhood. Gas station, grocery store, pharmacy, and ice cream shop within walking distance. Dog park near by. Heated swimming pool was very nice and relaxing. Property manager made sure we were happy with our stay.

Nice Family Vacation

Loved the house. The lawn was overgrown when we arrived and was finally mowed the day before we left. The pool was a lot of fun, but overgrown also and not vacuumed during the time we were there. But would definitely come back again!

Pros: * Home was more than large enough to accommodate our party* Home included everything we needed (e.g., kitchen utensils & spices, 2 refrigerators)* Downstairs furnishings were comfortable & accommodated our party of 10Things fellow travelers should know:* The pathway to the pool is uneven, unpaved & can be difficult for guests w/ mobility issues* Mattresses are quite firm/hard* Online pictures of the home do not accurately reflect the state of the home, esp. the upstairs.* Hallway leading to downstairs bathroom is quite narrow; bathroom is tightCons: * blinds on upstairs windows function but all except for 1 are damaged (e.g., missing blades)* Except for the dining room, living rooms, & all but one bedroom, the floors in the home are quite pitched. Some floors are worse than others (e.g., head of 1 bed raised 6 inches so that your head won't be lower than your feet, objects slide off chest of drawers). Guest w/ vertigo &/or balance issues will struggle* Most of the home is clean & comfortable, however some ceiling corners are quite dusty & contain cobwebs w/ dead insects* Many outlets are loose & struggle to hold plugged in objects * No deadbolt on the back door or upstairs deck door* Outside railing does not go to the ground* Although the pool was reported to be 80 degrees, the water was quite cold* Yard is quite overgrown, deck cushions are old and feel unclean, decking around pool should have been swept prior to our arrival

Pretty good

Property listing was accurate. Location was awesome- lots to do near there both nature and attractions. Place was clean. Owner proactive and responsive. Heated pool was great. General condition of the house is in really tough shape and floors creak more than any place I’ve been. this sounds like a nit but it made the stay less enjoyable. Overall, a pretty good experience.

Yes the floor creak when you go up the stairs. It's an older house and we state that in the description. However, the house is not in really rough shape as Matt states. Families come each year and the love this house. We make updates every year. Matt should be seeking pristine contemporary houses for hos trip and pay accordingly!

If you're looking for an authentic "step back in time" experience, this place absolutely delivers. Built in 1850, it appears to have proudly resisted the temptation of renovations ever since.The listing photos must have been taken during a brief moment in history when everything looked better than it actually was, because they were nowhere near an accurate representation of the property. Once we arrived, it felt like we had booked the "before" pictures of a home improvement show.The floors had an exciting trampoline-like quality, caving in and heaving, while the ceiling seemed to be participating in the same structural experiment. Every wall outlet had apparently decided it was retired—none of them could hold a plug, so charging devices became a game of balance, and hope.The walls were heaving enough to make you wonder if the house was slowly trying to stand up and walk away. The water pressure was so weak that taking a shower felt more like receiving a light misting from a spray bottle. The propane also gave off a noticeable odor, which wasn't exactly reassuring.The pool came with more ants than water toys, making it feel less like a vacation amenity and more like an all-inclusive insect resort. Even the hand soap dispensers refused to participate—they simply didn't work.Historic charm is one thing, but basic safety, maintenance, and accurate advertising are another. We don't mind staying in older homes, but this property needs significant repairs.

When a reunion of guests decide to cancel last minute and are denied a full refund and they reluctantly come to stay so that they don't lose the money and, they spend the weekend arguing amongst themselves, they take revenge!

Weekend Get Away

We booked this home for an extended weekend getaway with friends, drawn in by its charm and historic character. The listing checked all our boxes before the visit, and we were excited to stay in a place that felt truly unique. Upon arrival, the house did not disappoint in terms of curb appeal — built in 1850, it had all the vintage charm that makes a vacation rental memorable.Unfortunately, our experience inside the home was affected by a very strong odor of cat urine. The smell was immediately noticeable when we walked in and at times became overwhelming, to the point where we chose to spend most of our time outside on the patio, even in colder weather, rather than inside the house.This house has great potential and could be a fantastic stay once the odor issue is resolved. We hope the host is able to address this soon, because otherwise, it truly is a special property.

There was a tenant who had overstayed their welcome and they had a pet that we didn't know about because he didn't tell us. This guest Joey moved in just after and when we askes him how everything was he said "lovely" everything is great! Had we known we would have provided different accommodation for Joey so that his experience would have been a pleasant one.

Best mini vacation ever!!

When we arrived in the evening, the lights were on which was a nice touch making it easy to see as we made our way inside the most beautiful old house we’ve been in on a vacation.Plenty of bedrooms and beds updated kitchen and bathroom with two other full-size bathrooms made it quicker to get out and go do some sightseeing.Pool was huge and was warm enough that we all swam on the last day. The host was amazing and allowed us a late checkout.The pool caretaker Jessie stopped multiple times to make sure the pool was running and warming to it’s best ability for our stay..being were the 1st guests of the season!And I made a new friend with the property manager.. he was so accommodating and had the most wonderful conversation.We did bring our own towels, but there were a few towels here if somebody forgets.There was plenty of paper towels and toilet paper for us to use during our entire stay.Overall, this is a five star rental and we will be returning in the future.

Family Fun Time

I can't say enough great things about our time in the Adirondacks! Our host was a pleasure to work with and responded to messages very quickly. The house was exactly as described. Plenty of room for everyone in our party. I don't have pets but people in my party brought their dogs. I loved that the rental was pet friendly, but I wasn't aware that other animals had been there. The kitchen was clean and had everything we needed. I loved that everything we needed was right there, not just pots/pans/dishes, but also dish washer pods, dish soap for the sink, garbage bags, etc. The neighborhood was safe and amenities were close by. If you're looking to get away with a group I would highly recommend booking this rental!

Large home for a fun getaway!

The home is exactly what we needed for our party of 17 including 8 kids. Older of course but immaculately clean when we arrived. Enough room to get away or be together! The location was not entirely as expected and I pictured something a bit more set back from the street. Didn’t matter though because you aren’t going to be in the front yard anyway. When we first pulled up, I was a bit unsure but happy when we went into the house. It was perfect for what we needed. The backyard (separate from pool which was nice) provided great location for cornhole and s’mores. Gas grill came in handy! I personally was able to go to bed at 930 while others liked to stay up hours later and I heard nothing. We made great memories! We would return and we are picky! Thanks!

Vacation time with Family

Our family of 16 enjoyed our vacation. Our grandchildren loved swimming in the well-maintained pool, roasting marshmallows in the fire pit and playing hide and seek in the house’s nooks and crannies. The adults spent many hours on the screened in porch. The house is located conveniently near family-friendly beaches and Lake George

Decent for weekend stay for 3-4 families

Property is big with large living rooms, kitchen and dining. Bed rooms are located in the first floor, with 6 bed rooms and 2 full baths in first floor and 1 full bath in ground floor. Living room is decently furnished with good sofa, carpet and other furniture. Since the property is very old, it makes noise when someone walks in the first floor. There is fireplace in the backyard and swimming pool. We could not use swimming pool due to bad weather, it was raining. Property managed was approachable on phone for any questions and visited the property when needed.

Good Weekend Getaway

The house has plenty of space with a nice pool and decent sized backyard. It is an older house so the bedroom layouts are a bit unconventional and the floors are noisy but the house was clean upon arrival. The host was very helpful and quick to respond.

House was okay, location was great.

The house is located on busy Main Street. The location was convenient with the Tops supermarket 2 doors down to the left, popular ice cream shop a short walk to the right, and a few restaurants to the right. However on the weekdays there are trucks going down the main st very early so if you’re a light sleeper avoid the front bedrooms as it can be pretty loud. The pool was enjoyable although very cold. Kids loved it nonetheless. As for the house itself, it is a very old house and the age of the house definitely shows. The floors and stairs throughout the house are very uneven which wasn’t great for our younger kids who are already running around off balance. There Are plenty of bedrooms throughout the house which made it easy for our large family to spread out. Lots of spiders and flies throughout the house from the moment we arrived so not for those who are afraid of bugs. All in all, our family enjoyed our time and stay but was definitely a little difficult the first couple of days getting everyone to feel comfortable at the house due to the bugs/cleanliness of the place. We basically washed and cleaned everything we had to use before using just for peace of mind.
