Located in the heart of the Historic Northeast, Byers Mansion was built around 1900 by a wealthy cattle trader in one of the young cityâs first planned subdivisions. Come marvel at the craftsmanship of a Victorian home. Owners in residence, no shared spaces.

The mansion was so spacious and comfortable. We had a family gathering of 10. More than enough room for everyone. The beds were clean and comfortable.
The house was a step back in time. Beautiful original built ins and period pieces throughout.
Parking was only available on the street.
This house is an awesome piece of architecture. We constantly were saying âoh this is only 5 mins awayâ. The location is near entertaining places and surrounded by local restaurants with award winning food. The hosts made sure we had everything we needed and a pleasure to just chat with. We initially chose this stay due to capacity but everyone appreciated the experience to stay in a historic estate house during our day trip. Much appreciated.
This place was run by a shyster.
There was no safe parking up front.
It was NOT stated on the listing that someone was living in the middle of the house.
Pictures were deceptive. He ceiling was falling down on the porch, boards were loose.
We walked in, looked around, and was not impressed with our surroundings. We also felt very unsafe in the neighborhood. We immediately contacted the owner who refused to refund our money even though we were only there for a few minutes.
Our stayed was ok, itâs an older big home could have been better by updating a lil more inside to make it look fresh and cleaner.
The disappointment was upon arrival there were dirty crusted dishes in the dishwasher, seemed like it was for days, was grossed.
The upstair bathroom tub/shower has good amount of sands in it, dont know why. We had to cleaned it to use it.
There were no apology from the host about dirty dishes left in dishwasher. I couldnt stand it so i had to run the dishwasher to clean it.
The front door can not be locked from outside, no lock box. We had to use back door in and out in dim light very inconvenient for us.
There are no parking on the driveway, parking only on the busy street, feeling unsafe.
The neighborhood kind of sketchy looking, but it was ok.
This is a beautiful home could have been updated a lil more to look more modern and not looking so scary.
Definitely need to put a lock box in the front door for safety of renters, it can be easily forgetting to lock it and anyone can open it, Especially itâs facing the street.
We had a good time and paid a reasonable rate. We were not that far a drive from downtown where most of the action takes place.
Neighborhood was a little more sketchy than I initially anticipated but property and accommodations were perfectly fine.
My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, historic home! It has been restored with authentic touches, which add to the homeâs character very nicely. I really appreciated small details like the old latches on the kitchen and pantry cabinets. They were so cool! Also, the beds were very comfortable!
The hosts were easy to work with and prompt with communication. Our family forgot we werenât supposed to park in the driveway, but the host was polite and understanding about it. We were grateful for that because we felt really bad when we realized we missed that.
We were a little concerned about the neighborhood but we felt very safe, and actually thought the surrounding community of shops, churches, and buildings were quite lovely. It definitely seems to be an up and coming area!
I would definitely stay here again!
