Absolutely beautiful and out of the way of all the tourism spots. Very quiet and picturesque with a view of the sunset and our own private beach to hunt for sea glass and a view of the lighthouse.

Fantastic Home & Location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to get to all the places you want (like Bar Harbor, etc). Great view out the front, picturesque Maine coastal view, and the inside is fun and comfortable and quirky. There's also a hard packed gravel road that runs through some beautiful woods just down the road past the Naval Annex and lighthouse. Gotta hit the Pickled Wrinkle while you're here, too...overall just the perfect location and setting for us (2 couples in their 50's).

Cute cozy authentic Maine cottage. Though it says waterfront property we had no access to the water. Steps to upstairs bedrooms were very steep and narrow. Bottom bath has no shower just old claw foot tub. There are no basic cooking staples ie salt, pepper or any oils if you want to cook so buy or bring your spices. Fenced yard was great for your pet. View was awesome. Conveniently located to many local harbors with great restaurants and pubs. Lighthouse a few hundred yards offered spectacular sunrises.

We had an amazing stay—the home is beautiful and in a perfect location. The only area for improvement would be the management company, but overall, this is a wonderful place that we would still recommend.

Our stay was wonderful! This charming home is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful antiques throughout. We loved the fire pit out back and enjoyed fires nightly. The views of the water were wonderful. We also appreciated having access to camp chairs. After several days of hiking at Acadia, we spent our last afternoon sitting on those chairs in Bar Harbor’s village green. I definitely would recommend this peaceful property!

The kitchen was enjoyed by the "chefs" of our family. The quiet serenity of the area was so nice to experience. We spent a day in Acadia and in Bar Harbor where we went on a Harbor Cruise on an old Windjammer ship. That was very enjoyable! We dined at Bunker's in Winter Harbor and the food was delicious. The view was quite beautiful as well. We were very happy with our stay at Joy Cottage,

The fenced-in yard for the pups was great. It gave us peace of mind knowing they couldn't run away. Not that they would, but they do love squirrels so you never know lol. Every room was spacious and comfortable, but those light switches in the kitchen! So many of them that it turns into a game. Kind of fun! It was hard finding a place that had two full bathrooms to accommodate three people. Luckily, we found this property. Overall, we had a great experience for the five nights we stayed. Highly recommend!

Joy Cottage is wonderfully charming and the absolute cleanest VRBO we’ve stayed in. We loved its location away from the crowds of Bar Harbor and its proximity to sleepy Winter Harbor and the Schoodic Path.

Ten stars. I will be back. It’s so nice no need to go elsewhere!!! Tons of privacy. The street is perfect. You honestly don’t have to go anywhere to see the best of Maine. The kitchen is to die for if you like to cook. Ideal house for a dog. The yard is in segments. Fence is secure. The agency was wonderful and very helpful. It’s an old beautiful home. Really special.

We loved staying at Joy Cottage. Great location with ferry to Bar Harbor. The house was super clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again!
