The Reservoir is a cozy cottage perfectly situated less than a mile from Muhammad Ali International Airport, Louisville Zoo, Kentucky Kingdom, Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center and Louisville Mega Cavern. Churchill Downs and Derby City Gaming are just over a mile away. Downtown is a ten minute drive where you can enjoy local restaurants, an array of museums, art galleries and specialty shops, and also the waterfront. Enjoy comfortable beds with new linens, complimentary coffee bar and more.
Other than the information about the pool being available, everything was in order. CleanQuiet neighborhoodNice comfortable bedsCommunication was great with James. Full size fridge
House provided a clean environment and space for three adults and two small dogs. It was central location to get to other stops in Louisville. Enclosed back yard provided spot for dogs. Neighbors were nice. Everything we needed was provided.
The property is conveniently located to the convention center which was what we came to town for. My daughter was in an event there. The place was pet friendly. The beds were not very comfortable and the place is definitely dated. Enjoyed the coffe bar. Not much to cook with either. During the day it was safe but not a good area after dark. Towels and sheets were provided. Easy check in process.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Some sheets were not clean but others were available. Close to Germantown and several great restaurants. Loved the information available inside and the easy access to WiFi and interstate. Great stay for families!
A perfect place to set up camp while you explore the area. The neighborhood was quiet and the neighbors were friendly. Close to everything in Louisville and the host was very hospitable and responsive.
Overall it was a good stay, the place was dated but very clean and we loved the little coffee bar setup. I really wouldn't recommend more than 4 people though it can hold more, it was a bit tight with 5 of us.
Comments from my friend include the need for serving size bowls and to check dishes that guests have washed. Would also recommend some coat hooks over the shoe tray inside the front door.
Overall, excellent host with good communication, we had a good stay for that part of our trip.
Super clean. Very cozy. Antenna tv. Internet was out from storm a few days beforehand. I wouldnât go walking the neighborhood after dark but all in all it served it purpose of exploring Louisville!
Host was very gracious. Property super clean. Very convenient to our dog show. Only thing was the property said fenced and it wasn't fenced completely so we couldn't use the yard but I would stay again. We locked the wrong lock and got locked out and our host came and let us in immediately. Just a wonderful person.
Everything was just as described and clean.
James is incredibly responsive and immediately replied to all of our questions about check in and using the google chromecast. The kitchen is probably the most well-stocked kitchen I have ever stayed in. There were snacks for the kids and coffee and teas, which just really made the stay special for all of us! The bathroom is very well stocked, if you forget anything it's probaby there. There were plenty of clean towels and washcloths for our family of 6.
Thank you so much, James, we can't wait to come back to Kentucky Kingdom and visit your place again.
Tip is to bring ear plugs and a soundspa if you are suburbanites like us, not used to the city sounds.
The place is dated since it only has 1 bathroom. We stayed here for an Event at the Kentucky Expo Center. We were only 10 minutes away. We had a few guinea pigs with us in the bedroom. The owner communicated well with me. The queen bed was comfortable, but the frame was quite noisy if you or your partner moved. It was quite dirty between the wall and the nightstand in the same bedroom - but I didn't see that until 2 days before we checked out. One suggestion is to make sure you take any seasoning with you. There are seasonings in most places I have stayed in, but this place has none. There are snacks, a few bottles of water in the fridge, and an assortment of K-Cups for the Keurig. The area is pretty safe, we mostly were gone during the day and returned late at night.
All communication with James was quick. He apologized for not mowing the lawn. It was blazing hot weather so that was totally understandable. The location was as described and we loved the neat and cozy feel. All was well until we opened the microwave. The inside had not been cleaned. Easy enough to take care of. The second find was a bit more concerning. The bathroom mirror was missed in the cleaning as well. We left that untouched.
We ran into real trouble when we went to bed. This is where the listing description was inaccurate. Far from comfortable, the bed also squeaked every time either of us moved even slightly. A sleepless night ensued. There were other beds but, as recent newlyweds, we have never slept in separate beds. We had secured the booking for three nights. We left after one night when we returned from church on Sunday morning. We advised James and specified our reason. Very disappointing.
Great location for those wanting to attend events at Highland Festival Grounds. The listing was accurate. No frills but was clean and had everything we needed. The host was very responsive.
This was just an overnight stay for us, but we came with 4 children ages 6-16 and 2 dogs! The owner was so helpful and accommodating and even let us check in slightly early to accommodate a memorial service we had to attend. Highly recommend working with this owner.
We we're very pleased with the home. It was as described so no complaints. My girlfriend a clean freak was very pleased. Kitchen was well equipped. Would stay again.
We were just outside of downtown and close to Churchill Downs, so perfect for what we were planning on doing over the weekend. Place was clean and had everything we needed
This was just what the pictures showed. A lovely front porch to sit at night. House was well stocked, clean and many new features. Close to downtown or to points south. A great start to the Bourbon Trail.
