The Cowboy House is a charming one bedroom, one bath home with a full kitchen conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Alpine. It is perfect as a home base while you explore the surrounding areas of the Big Bend. Cowboy House features a rustic western theme indicative of the wild west era that is a rich part of the local history. Off street parking is available for guests. Cowboy House is pet friendly with advance notice and a pet fee.
TV - There is not cable or satellite service, however you may log into your account on the smart TV to watch your shows.
Please be aware that the desert terrain can be quite harsh for pets that are not used to it. Dogs shoes are recommended. We have just a couple of rules: 1. No Smoking inside (there is trash receptacle on the back porch) 2. No Parties or Events 3. Pets only with prior notice and a $40 pet fee which we will request a few days before arrival.
Also beware that we have the property regularly treated for pests. However, if you leave food or crumbs out it is very likely to attract ants into the property.
We enjoyed the house, well equipped kitchen and western decor. We walked to most restaurants and activites. Off street parking is furnished. There is significant street noise in the living/dining room, bedroom is fairly quiet. We would stay here again.
This VRBO was perfect for my husband and our 7lb fur baby ! So cute perfect location ! The only downfall is ot is right across the street from a 24 hour Stripes convenient store ! But in saying this it was safe eas safe and had a private
Great little home for our Big Bend visit. This home was our home base for our trip. Itâs perfectly situated for our excursions to Big Bend, Marfa, Balmorhea etc. The only suggestion I have is an upgrade on the bed. The home is furnished with everything we needed. Definitely book again.
Alpine is a cute little town and perfect for visiting the Big Bend and surrounding areas, but the best part of our trip was the comfort and charm of coming back after a day of adventure to the Cowboy House
If you have a pet or would prefer a home to a hotel, then this is a great place to stay in Alpine. Great front yard and back yard. Walking distance to restaurants and grocery store. Easy drives to Marfa, Ft. Davis, and Big Bend. The hosts were very accommodating and provided every thing we needed. Hope to visit again
It was a little narrow in some places for my husband who is 6â3â. But the space and the appointments were very nice. It was comfortable and our stay was very enjoyable. Nice location for grocery and eating out.
Charming place, and whoever remodeled it did wonderful job! Outlets everywhere, great appliances.. love the woodwork and cabinets. Then whoever decorated it was awesome. Since we were here for the Cowboy Poetry Gathering, how appropriate we stayed at Cowboy House. Convenient location to everything.
Kitschy & charming house right in the center of Alpine. PSA: bring ear plugs if you're sensitive to street noise and sleeping in the common area/futon. Easy to find, check-in, and had all we needed with the exception of extra bedding for a second guest. However, the hostess was accommodating and quickly responsive. Lovely stay, recommended for traveling with pets.
We love this area, and this was our first time to stay at The Cowboy House. The listing information is accurate. Fenced-in front and backyard additionally. Canât say enough about the communication with management as well. Highly recommended.
I hadnât been to Alpine in 30 years, so when I booked this spot, I wasnât sure what to expect. The location is fantastic with the grocery store around the corner. There is parking for two vehicles behind the home, and the house is fully fenced. The backyard is quiet and was great for a morning coffee and bird watch! Inside, the property was clean and adorable with a coffee maker, all the appliances, and dishes. There was attention to detail with treats for my dog and bags to pick up waste. The bathroom was a great size with nice hot water and towels. My teen boys were comfy on the futon and us in the bedroom. We played cards in the evenings and there were board games too! We will definitely return as it was a great home base for our trips to Big Bend, marfa, and Balmorhea (wow what a beautiful drive!) thank you to the hosts for the hospitality!
We loved the theme. Most of the things were old but some new. The new was the utmost of uniqueness; an armadillo that had been to nothing but its shell. It was turned into a basket; I really wanted it! The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was so quaint. The backyard was small but had everything we needed. You would like the stay; we did.

One night
Wasnt what we expected. Didn't realize it was right on main street. The house smelt old. Couch was not comfortable and the TV was way to high to watch without your neck hurting. Bed was comfortable. The house that showed from outside was not the house. It was just ok for one night. Slept good though.
This small home was perfect for our three day visit to Alpine! The house was clean and inviting, and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable!
Overall clean, comfortable, and convenient to places of interest to us. Not as quiet as expected (nearby train tracks), but we were not greatly disturbed by any noise. Front door latch was binding such that it could not be operated from the outside, but the back door was convenient for almost all our purposes. Appliances all worked fine (did not use the washer/dryer). I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Alpine.
Cute house! Son attends the University and very close to everything!
Only suggestion would be to replace the mattress⊠mattress sinks in middle and very uncomfortable
Loved the Cowboy House! The furnishings were so cute. My husband did tell me not to get any ideas - afraid I was going to go home and redecorate our place to match!!! Great stay!
We loved staying here. It was so close to everything and the hosts made instructions and general information clear and easy to follow. The backyard was so nice for our dog to move around and play.
