This is the cutest little place to stay!! It was a great size for our family, and the very best location for all of our festivities!! Highly recommend!!
Beautiful redone home, very stylish and comfortable. Lots of space and good value. Host was responsive and friendly. Would definitely be our first choice when we return to the area for family visits. Thank you!
Great stay for a âgirlsâ trip. We had everything neededâŠthree roomy bedrooms with comfortable beds, nice kitchen, beautiful bathrooms, good location, many restaurants close by within a few minutes. Would make one suggestionâŠhand rail on the back stepsâŠit rained for two days while we were there and the steps were a little slippery. All in all would highly recommend.
Plenty of parking space, very clean and beautiful decor in a quaint historic house. We didnât use the kitchen but it looked nice and well equipped. Easy check-in and good location, we walked to downtown and saw the Second Saturday Art happening, which was nice. The old downtown was picturesque with arts and craft vendors and lots of nice restaurants and bars. There is also a bowling bar close to the house.
This property was absolutely stunning! The house has the old time New Orleans feel with all the modern updates and amenities. Everything was clean and in good working order. So much space for our family of 4. The house is older so you can hear noise from the outside (only noticed at night). We turned a sound machine app on to drown it out and that worked perfect. Would definitely stay again!
We arrived after having completed 12days touring .
The house is far bigger than the listing portrayed. Everything in it is quality
Cant speak highly enough of the Blue house , from its location to cutlery
Simply the best.
One thing we would have found useful , a housebook with information relating to the house , and general area. That aside first rate thanks.
The Blue House is a perfect property to accomodate 6 adults, we were four so plenty of space and privacy for both couples. All we needed was there and more. I would recommand this property anytime. The host, Tyler, was really helpfull, he helped us find activities from the surrounding (great swamp tour just 25 minutes from the property)
Jacques,Lucie, Mario and Patricia
We came down to Lafayette for a baseball tournament and this house looked perfect for the 5 of us. Needless to say it was amazing and a comfortable stay. Tyler was very attentive to any questions I had and friendly. The neighborhood was clean and nice. The house itself was just gorgeous.
Four of us in from TN & TX tho we are from Lafayette. The Blue House was a delight! Charming. Cozy. Very clean. Creative decor. Comfy beds. Perfect location. Peaceful (UL on Christmas break.) Quiet time on the porch swing to the lullaby of the train in the distanceâwe love this home and will be back!
I just love this town. This place is so well equipped, decorated so artistically, and so comfortable for our group of 6 that it was a pleasure to retreat to and wake up in over several days of adventure. The host was very accommodating when we had a change of plans just a month or so before beginning the stay, and everything went so smoothly with the process. I highly recommend it, at the risk of it not being available next time we come!!
We enjoyed every moment at the very special Blue House. Being equipped with all modern amenities, it still maintains its antique and historic character. The Downtown area and many good restaurants (we very much liked the âBon temps Grillâ) are in walking distance, so we explored most of the area on foot. Not far away thereâs a natural habitat (Lake Martin, where we went on a beautiful swamp tour) and the nice little town of Breaux Bridge, worth being visited. We would definitely stay again at the Blue house when visiting Lafayette again.
Hey I am the owner of The Blue House! I am a local Realtor and outdoor enthusiast. I wanted to create an amazing space that my guests, friends, and family would love. This is what we came up with I hope you like it! I have way too many hobbies...I am a licensed skydiver, soccer player, snowboarder, hunter, dirtbike rider, boater, longboarder, cyclist, runner. You name it I probably do it. I love to travel and hope you enjoy my city!
For the last 10 years, I have been living in and renovating this beautiful old home now known as "The Blue House". It has become a local landmark around town ever since it got its new paint job which became the namesake. A lot of the repairs and updates I have done myself including painting the exterior that 'dynamic blue'! I had plenty of help along the way to transform this historic beauty back to its former glory with all the modern creature comforts. I hope you enjoy and take care of my home.
There are countless benefits to staying here as opposed to another home or hotel. The location is impeccable. The Attakaps bicycle trail wraps around the corner that the house sits on and you are within walking distance to all that Lafayette has to offer. During the winter you can nuzzle up next to the old gas fireplace and in the summer enjoy the simple life as you rock back and forth on the front porch swing. Enjoy the big game on the 70" smart tv and enjoy any of the games we have on the inviting dining room table. Plenty of parking and plenty of space to feel right at home while you're away from home. The Primary bedroom features a kitchenette with a pull-out microwave, mini fridge, quartz countertops, and floating shelves! Also, a private deck and French door entrance. The primary bathroom has a second set of washer/dryer.
