We had a lovely time on Fire Island at this beach cottage. The place was clean, beds comfortable and hosts couldn't be more helpful. They responded to our questions right away and were able to give us a late check out which was much appreciated since we were only able to stay two nights. The deck was lovely and the cottage is steps away from the gorgeous beach! We highly recommend!!
We had an amazing time. This is a beautiful beach house just steps to the ocean. The inside was very cozy and welcoming. The fresh orchids were a nice touch! We had everything we needed, from umbrellas & beach chairs to the grill on the deck! I will definitely be booking this property again!
I have never been to Fire Island but when my friends told me about it and said we should do a trip, I jumped right in. I am originally from Boston but have lived in Texas for the past 15 years. We all met at Richard's VRBO and just had the best time of our lives. It was clean, location was exceptional to beach and town, and the place was so cute. This will be an annual trip for us and I will 100% be checking to see if this property is available next year. Thank you so much for hosting such a beautiful property. We created memories for a lifetime.
A perfect cottage for convalescence and a return to health
I had the utmost displeasure of contracting a severe GI bug en route to the Pines. It set the tone and schedule for my entire stay, so it wasnât my best vacation. That said, Richardâs home could not have been a better place to both support my recovery and to isolate.
Richard gave excellent instructions on how to utilize all the home amenities. Having stayed there two weeks, I definitely appreciated the clear guidance that helped me care for myself. I did a lot of laundry during my stay, because of the vomiting that carried on for 12 days. I used lots more other amenities that helped me care for myself: the ample cleaning supplies gave me peace of mind knowing I could keep everything sanitized as best as possible, the availability of a cart and reusable shopping bags made big grocery runs a cinch. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in - ample pots, pans, dishware, etc, and I loved getting to use the grill. I did my best to isolate, which meant I spent most of my time in the house, and I was very comfortable in all rooms at all times of the day, without the use of A/C much. WiFi was perfect and reliable.
In addition to the cottage resources, people in the Pines helped me during the ordeal, including the Doctor and Nurse at Whyte Hall, the Suffolk County Police [who took me by boat to Long Island to catch the ambulance on the way to the Emergency Room], and the Pines Pantry [who delivered groceries directly to the house when I couldnât make it on my own].
A couple of friends and I spent a few nights at the house while on the island for a wedding. The location is convenient and quite - far enough from any noise near the harbor but not too far of a walk with suitcases. The views of the ocean from the main level of the house were lovely to wake up to each day and there is plenty of outdoor space to relax. The house was clean and had everything that we needed. A brand new (and powerful) blender was a plus for daiquiri hour!
We had an amazing stay at the Pines! Richard was a fantastic host! House was very clean and had everything we needed. Amazing deck with a grill! Strongly recommend anyone to stay here.
Could not have been any simpler. Owners were easy to work with, and communicated details instructions -- they even left us a bottle of wine! The place is conveniently located, just a short walk from the harbor, and steps from the beach. Everything was well kept and in working order. Our party consisted of 4 adults and one dog, and there was more than enough accommodation. Highly recommend this as an option for a weekend getaway in the Pines!
This is a really gorgeous beach house that we got to spend the 4th July weekend at. The location is unbeatable! You can see and hear the beach from the deck. Thereâs plenty of space inside with lots of natural light. Richard was a great host and communicated really well with us. We will definitely return.
I hesitated to write this review because I wanted to keep this little secret gem to myself but wasnât fair to the wonderful owners. The place was perfect . It was such a beautiful place with fantastic views. Close to beach, super clean and the fresh flowers and dog treats were really a great thought . The owner even let us check in early since no one was there, so we had a extra full day . New beach umbrella, great beach chairs! We will definitely be back for sure.
The thoughtful details that included fresh flowers everywhere, and a note accompanying chilled rose for us and organic treats for the pup- made this great house even greater. The price is steep but the charm of the space, the location in eyesight of the waves, and the kindness of the owners make this a standout!!
Perfect beach cottage getaway, just steps from the beach
What a fabulous 2 bedroom beach cottage. We were so impressed with how cute and clean the home was when we arrived, and the bonus is that its just steps from the beach.
This home is just perfect for a beach getaway with everything one could want. Close enough to walk to the town center for dinner, the pines pantry (local grocery store), pizza or catch a water taxi and explore the other villages on Fire Island.
The cottage is also prefect for a night in with a full size oven, refrigerator and a gas grill on the deck where you can sit at the patio table and enjoy all your meals alfresco.
The pines in Fire Island is a place where everyone is a pleasure to meet and happy to be there. Even the dogs are having the time of their lives....
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here with every amenity one could want. I would highly recommend this place and hope to be back again soon!
Tanya and I moved from Helsinki, Finland to the Upper West Side of Manhattan several years ago where I practice law and Tanya photographs dogs. We love the balance of city and beach life. Fire Island Pines is an amazing oasis (private cars not allowed) within a train/ferry ride of Penn Station. Our cottage is modest in size but cute, comfortable, clean and a perfect location, with delightful views and conveniently located steps from the beach.
