Quiet four bedroom cape. only 30 mins to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park
Relax with the whole family at this peaceful four bedroom cape. Located in a quiet neighborhood less than a mile to restaurants in downtown Ellsworth, and only a ten mile drive to beautiful Acadia National Park. The house is an 1800 sq. ft, four bedroom, two bath cape. The first floor master bedroom has a king bed with flat screen smart tv, closet, dresser, and attached bath. 2nd floor has one bedroom with king bed, one bedroom with a full-size bed, and the third bedroom has twin bunks. There is a second floor full bathroom as well. The downstairs is easily heated and cooled with an efficient heat pump. There is a window a/c unit for the upstairs bedrooms.
Great stay with family at a cozy home close to town. Only 35 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia . Home was clean and had everything we needed. Easy check in and good communication with host. Highly recommend!!
Very nice house. Comfortable beds. AC was nice. Only 8 bath towels in house and no extra sheets or blankets. The town of Ellsworth is very nice. Enjoyed union Lobster on the river.
Very quiet neighborhood, very spacious house, great communication with property manager. About 30 minutes from Acadia NP and 5 minutes from downtown Ellsworth. Pat's Pizza was great. Finn's Irish Pub has classic Irish menu and has Airline Brewery on top along with traditional Irish brews
Property located in very quite location in a natural surroundings. All required items were available & plenty more. Communication with host was very clear & house rules instructions were very clear. In short perfect place to have a nice family vacation
Beautiful property with good privacy. We saw wildlife(deer) in back yard. Very comfortable and home like. Had everything we needed to be comfortable and were able to cook some meals while on vacation. Close to stores, restaurants, yet in a nice neighborhood and felt like we were in the country with the wooded, private back yard. Not far from Bar Harbor, maybe 15 miles. Convenient for visiting Acadia National Park. Owners were very attentive to my messages. I didn't even have to ask them about check in and check out, they contacted me. I would highly recommend this property.
Overall the property and neighborhood was beautiful! Very clean and quiet. Ellsworth is a cute little town not to far from Bar Harbor and Acadia. It has Marthaâs diner which was a favorite of my Dads when he and Mom used to go up to ME. I got to stop in for Blueberry pancakes and to replace his mug I broke⊠(heâs been gone 7 years so breaking that mug a couple years back was heartbreaking.) the house was perfect for us basically 2 masters, which was great since my mom could have the ground floor and me and my husband had the upstairs and each kid had a bedroom. Only fault to the upstairs 2/3 bedrooms was lack of furniture to put your clothes in or phones/tablets to charge by the bed! But the beds were pretty comfortable. The couch was nice and big! My daughter fondly named the deer Fred and Toby. Lol! The kitchen was nice, bare but enough dish ware and cookware to make due so we werenât eating out more than one meal a day! The back deck was lovely, though could use about 2 more chairs. The only flaw with the house is the front porch steps. Here in MD if there is more than 2 steps you need a railing! My mom definitely needed support going up them since there was none. The front walk is slate and pretty but watch your step! Myself and the kids both stumbled a time or two Lol, them too excited me I had to much in my hands to see! Over all this property was great! Definitely made our trip as comfortable as being at home!
We had a fantastic stay!! The home was wonderful and a great middle point for Acadia and Schoodic. The hosts were quick to respond and we would definitely stay here again!! Thank you!!
This beautiful house is near the end of a dead-end road, so it feels very private.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We are two parents, of two adult children, each have a partner/spouse, and one 2-year-old â so we needed a house where we could have at least three bedrooms (we wanted the fourth bedroom in case a nephew joined us, but he didn't). We were in town to attend the covid-postponed wedding of a cousin, to see family who live in the area, and to visit Acadia National Park.
The house is big enough that we all felt that we had enough space. The beds are quite comfortable, and we appreciated the sheets of clear instructions left by the owners. Our son & his wife were glad to see the collection of children's books in their upstairs bedroom, as they hadn't brought many books along for their young one.
The kitchen was more than adequate for our needs, though it would be nice to have a table where everyone could sit together (the house sleeps 8, but the only table seats 4, with a kitchen island that seats two more).
The living room is big enough that we were all able to gather there. It has a very comfortable sectional sofa with two reclining seats.
The owners were very responsive to every question we had.
Nice, clean, as-advertised property in quiet, private neighborhood full of beautiful trees. We hardly knew there were other houses. Deer visited the backyard daily during our stay. Home was comfortable. Our only suggestion is that owners might consider adding some more plates/bowls, a cutting board, and serving bowls as we had to run the dishwasher after each meal for our party of 7 because of plates. A few cozy throws for enjoying chilly evenings on the back patio would be great as well. Overall, a very functional home for our needs though. Acadia entrance is a good 30 min from Ellsworth, so we were wishing we were slightly closer. Ellsworth has quite a few restaurants, but even in the high season of summer, many were oddly closed on Monday and TuesdayâŠ.even a couple on Wednesday, so be aware wait times at the open restaurants may be long, as we discovered. Our best meal was at Union LobsterâŠgreat food & service and the best blueberry pie around. We had a great trip and are grateful to hosts for sharing a nice property.
This Ellsworth home was perfect for our family of five to travel to Acadia National Park several days during our stay. We enjoyed eating in Ellsworth at Union River Lobster Pot with it's park-like setting along the Union River. The Ellsworth home, itself, provides everything you need to cook at the house. We would recommend staying here to family and friends.
Very convenient for checking in and leaving. We didn't have to deal with keeping track of keys or locking ourselves out. Very clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend it .
This home was large enough to accommodate my family plus my sisterâs family with plenty of room. The location for visiting Acadia was ideal. Communication with the owner was wonderful. They responded immediately with any questions/concerns. Just know the amenities were very basic and you will need to pack accordingly.
My family had a wonderful time at Mitch and Jenn's house! The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, lovely to walk around in. The kitchen had most everything we needed and the house was a comfortable size for our family of 9. The yard was well cared for and the deck was nice, though there were only two deck chairs. The kitchen was also a bit limited in seating for us (6 seats). Overall it was a wonderful home and we would definitely stay there again!
Mitchell is a former merchant marine, now working as an engineer at a local steam plant, and commercial fishing on the coast of Maine. Jennifer is a former waitress, and is now working as a registered nurse at a local hospital. We enjoy hiking, fishing, and camping all over Maine with our daughter Khloe.
We chose to buy this property because it is located in a quiet rural neighborhood, but downtown Ellsworth is within walking distance where you can find delicious restaurants, local craft breweries, and shops. Acadia National Park is only around a ten mile drive from the property.
