Our family enjoyed our stay at the Sullivan home very much, the beach had an ocean vibe, with spectacular sunsets. The large deck provided us a perfect place to play games and have dinner. The fire pit is a nice touch, and the kitchen was outfitted with everything we needed. The layout of the house was wonderful, providing us with plenty of room for all of us. The bathrooms were clean and efficient. Plenty of towels, and the bedding that was provided was helpful. We kayaked to the nearby island and explored that a little. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting seclusion, we only saw one other person the whole time! Thank you
We really loved the setting of the home - enjoyed several dinners out on the deck; took pictures of sunsets; played games together; drove to Acadia for lots of hiking. Thankful for a nice home layout that accommodated our family of 5 very well.
My 3 sisters, daughter and husband and sons, and I stayed at this property in June. From the beginning Josh was very prompt in communicating. The house was very private, with no neighbors in sight. The house was situated about 45 minutes from Bar Harbor, Acadia Natl park, and Bangor. It was clean, large enough for privacy and group gatherings. They had a great selection of games. The boys used the kayaks which were a new addition since booking. We also sat at the fire in the solo fire pit. Knowing we were on the lake in a forest, we knew to bring bug spray, which we did need for the mosquitoes. Grocery store was just 10 minutes away. Considering the solitude you get when staying here, the proximity to everything you need or want was perfect. The boys also enjoyed the video game during down time. Would stay again.
This property fit all nine of us comfortably (eight adults and one 1yr old). It was right on the lake and has a BEAUTIFUL view. Joshua was an excellent communicator and helped us streamline any bumps we may have experienced during our stay. However, there were a few things that we felt conflicted about. First, the lack of AC really hit due to a heat wave. It was noted in the listing, but it was nearly 90 in the house, so that was tough. Secondly, the house is a hike from Acadia and Bar Harbor. With normal tourist traffic, it was about an hour each way. Finally, there were little things, like the shampoo and conditioner mentioned in the listing were actually tiny travel sized ones, so after one use they were gone. Overall, if I were renting the house to experience quiet seclusion, I would absolutely stay again. However, if you are looking to experience Bar Harbor and Acadia, the travel time to get there definitely cuts into daily plans.
We had the lucky opportunity to stay in this lovely ,private lake house in July 2024. The location was ideal, the lake was awesome. The fishermen enjoyed the lake, as well as the kids. A great shallow beach for swimming. The house is new, so everything was pristine. About a 40 minute drive to Acadia/Bar Harbor. The owner was very helpful and quick to answer any questions. We did happen to be there during "the heat wave", so having no air conditioning was our only complication. We would definitely stay there again if ever in Maine.
What a lovely place to stay, it had everything that we needed, plenty of space and beds! The host was very communicative and friendly. Having a huge private beach was amazing! The water is warm and shallow. However the bottom is very squishy, I think because there's a lot of clay, so bring water shoes. Other than that the only other thing I can think of was there did seem to be multiple cameras on the outside of the property. I totally understand why and have no problem with that. However I feel that it should have been mentioned somewhere, but it wasn't. I would recommend this place to anyone!
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Joshuaâs property! The house was clean, well-maintained, and provided all the comforts we needed for a relaxing getaway. The detailed instructions Joshua provided made our arrival and stay seamless.
The location was perfect for exploring the area; we particularly enjoyed hiking Cadillac Summit and Jordan Lake, which offered breathtaking sights. The private beach access was a wonderful bonus, and we had a great time.
Joshuaâs thoughtful touch of leaving a bottle of red wine for us was much appreciated and added to our enjoyment. Communication was smooth and prompt, and Joshua was always available to answer any questions we had.
Overall, we couldnât have asked for a better experience and highly recommend staying at Joshuaâs property.
Thank you for a wonderful stay, Joshua!
Joshâs house was beautiful being very new and clean. We really liked the layout and roominess.
We felt uncomfortable about all the security cameras/game cameras around the property. It seemed as though many were pointed towards the windows and some windows did not have coverings. We did not use the master shower for this reason. The cameras felt very invasive.
We also found the beach and lake hard to use. It was mostly just mud and not swimmable. The yard is not ready to be used and is still a new construction site.
This house was the perfect set up for two families. We loved watching the sunsets on the lake. There is a nice solo stove on the deck for bonfires. They have a blackstone which was perfect for a couple of our dinners. The host reaponded very quickly to our questions. We visited Acadia a couple times and Bar Harbor (maybe save Bar Harbor for a weekday) which was about a 45 minute drive. Went to Stonington and kayaked around the islands. We did get passes for the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain but the weather was terrible and we couldnât see the sunrise since the fog was so bad. We were bummed about that! Great restaurant options in Ellsworth. We had dinner at Union River Lobster Pot and breakfast at Riverside Cafe. Lots of great seafood options on the way to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The only negative thing I would say about our stay was the house does not have AC and some of the days/nights got a little warm. They do have box fans in all the rooms so we took advantage of those. Would definitely visit Maine again and stay at this spot.
âTranquil Retreat in the Maine Woods: A Family Reunion by the Lakeâ
Our family reunion at âJoshua Propertyâ in the ancient woods of Maine was nothing short of magical. Nestled among towering pines, this secluded haven offered a view that stretched over graham lakeâa canvas of tranquility.
From the moment we arrived, our hostâs thoughtful gesture awaited us: a bottle of wine on the table. Its warmth mirrored the embrace of the forest around us. As the sun dipped below the horizon, we gathered around the solar stove, flames dancing, stories intertwining.
Our three familiesâmy wife and I, along with her two sistersâ familiesâlaughed, reminisced, and reveled in each otherâs company. The scent of pine mingled with shared memories, and the lake whispered its secrets.
From sunrise to sunset, we found solace in the ancient woods. The fire crackled, casting shadows on our facesâthe flicker of flames echoing the bonds we rekindled. And as the stars emerged, we traced constellations, connecting our lives to the vastness of the universe.
âJoshua Propertyâ became more than a house; it became our sanctuaryâa place where laughter echoed through the trees, where stories were etched into the very fabric of the forest. We left with hearts full, knowing that this tranquil retreat would forever hold a special place in our familyâs story.
We really enjoyed the location of the house and its setting. It was remote enough to feel like you were in a wilderness paradise, yet close enough to Acadia national Park, where we ventured almost every day. A great place to come home too after a day of hiking and sightseeing.
