This is a perfect cottage for your Up North vacation experience! The cottage is located on the south side of Paradise lake, and the sunsets can be watched from the screened in porchâthey are unbeatable! This is a 2 bedroom one bath cottage. One bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has 2 twin beds in a bunk bed set up. The bathroom is newly installed and updated as of June 2021. Has an adorable breakfast nook off of the kitchen. Appliances include stove, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker. Located just 10 minutes south of mackinaw city and 30 minutes north of petoskey, many restaurants surrounding including Harbor lights( located right in the lake), Douglas lake inn, leggs Inn, and many more! Great location for day trips to mackinaw island, the upper peninsula, or neighboring towns, and perfect for relaxing on the lake, whatever you are in the mood for!
Overall we enjoyed our stay and liked the coziness feel of the cottage and enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the sunsets and listing to the calming waves from the lake.
This is a nice little hidden, peaceful getaway. The screened in porch was the highlight of the stay for us since we could sit out there and enjoy our meals, talk, relax, read, and just enjoy the beautiful view. Would like to come back and stay again when sightseeing more of Michigan.
This is the second time we have stayed at this cottage. The shallow lake and kayak makes it a perfect stress free area for my 12 year old son to have some independence. This cottage is close to Mackinac City and Island while still feeling secluded. The hosts are great communicators and the cottage is well stocked. As a bonus, there are beautiful sunset views.
I canât say enough amazing things about our stay. Cottage was cozy, supplied with everything we needed. The lake was perfect for my toddler to play and it doesnât get very deep until about 100ish feet out. It was clean and warm! The sunsets at night on the patio were breathtaking, and the fact that your in a screened in patio away from the bugs was a major plus. Close to mackinaw, tunnel of trees, and a good selection of food. We will 100% be back again. I canât recommend this cottage enough!
Loved the location - we saw mackinaw, perky, UP, dark sky park, and cheboygan. The lake is beautiful and steps outside of the back door. The cabin is small, but a great size for the 3 of us
We enjoyed the location. The privacy was great, and only 8 to 15 minutes away from anything! So, location, location, location!
Clean and comfy! We would stay again.
Perfect location for a beautiful sunset on Paradise Lake. Is only a few minutes/miles from Mackinaw City. Host was very responsive/helpful when we called with a question regarding locking the cottage.
We stayed at the cottage with our two kids (7 and 10). It was very clean and decently stocked.
The location was perfect for day trips into the UP and to Mackinac Island.
The only thing we wished it had was a grill.
Would definitely stay again.
We needed a relaxing vacation in cooler temps and that is exactly what we got. If you like to walk to stores and restaurants, this is not for you, but it was perfect for us. Sunsets are unbelievable from the porch. Loons, ducks, shallow water (perfect for kids), and everything you need close by.
Clean, comfortable beds and linens. Very nice owners!
A delightful treat that made us fall in love with Michigan!
We had a great time at this lakeside cottage. We loved the front porch and the fact that it is right on the water of Paradise Lake. This property is located about 20 minutes from Mackinaw City and provides a great jumping point for day trips to Mackinac Island, St Ignace, Petosky, and Cheboygan. We brought our own bicycles and enjoyed riding the many trails available on the island and the mainland.
This property was perfect for our family of 3. The lake provided hours of entertainment for my son, and it was shallow near the shore so I was able to relax and not worry about him. The host was amazing with communication and answered all of our questions quickly. The house was clean and really well stocked. Very relaxing.
We recently spent four nights here, and the location was just right for day trips to the UP, Pestoskey, and Mackinac Island. The cabin itself is small, but we spent nearly all our time outdoors in the backyard/beach. The views over the water were gorgeous at sunrise and sunset.
Lake Paradise was clean and clear, and shallow--perfect for my kids who love to explore the water but aren't both strong deep water swimmers. We particularly enjoyed the kayak, rowboat, and canoe! The host provided a couple life vests, but I recommend bringing your own youth ones if you have kids.
We had a great stay at this rustic cabin. The description was accurate and our kids loved using the row boat and kayak. The lake is very shallow, which was perfect for our two young kids (4 and 6). We also loved sitting out on the porch. Sunsets are gorgeous. The host was very responsive. Thank you!
Great Communication, Clean place, Even Better View. The beach and water are amazing, my 2 daughters & I had a great time swimming and just hanging out watching the sunsets. Mackinac city is close by, the ferry from there to Mackinaw Island is right there as well. The bridge is right there too if you want to check out some UP stuff. Iâd HIGHLY recommend this place, so much so my girls asked if/when we can book it again to come back this summer.
This turned out to be a fantastic stay all around and would definitely do again. The home itself was a great fit with a simple design and cabin like feel to it with all of the amenities we needed. I loved sitting in the screened in porch looking at the lake as the sun went down our even during the short rains. Even though the weather wasn't quite as warm as we would have liked (only about 70-74°while we were there) the temperature of the lake was actually very comfortable to swim in. It was also great for my 3 year old who was able to travel out quite a ways without it getting too deep for him. Maggie was a wonderful host who was very responsive and accommodating to any questions we had.
We were traveling with a family of four around Lake Michigan and stayed here to be close to Macinaw City. The porch is really nice and you have a little beach. The house is small and simple but has an upgraded kitchen, bathroom and windows. I wouldnât want to cook all of our meals there just because the kitchen is small and you would have to eat outside on a picnic table for four people. You will travel for groceries or restaurants, but you arenât that far from Macinaw City. The owners seemed really nice and communicative and we would definitely stay here again. We have some great pictures of the sunset from the porch.
Everything was just fine except the listing showed there was a spa / hot tub amenity. It was an error in the listing that still needs to be resolved. We are still working with the property owner on a resolution. The cabin is small and clean with all the basic amenities.
This was the perfect relaxing trip for our family as a way to wrap up summer! The cottage was simple, clean, cozy and had everything we needed! My favorite was the screened in porch where we could enjoy our coffee, watch the sunset, read and escape the sun. Our two kids (9 and 11) had a blast taking out the kayak, playing in the sand, building a fire, catching crawfish, frogs and playing games. The lake is calm and quiet and you could walk out quite far before it got deep. My 11 year old said this was the best vacation because he got to do so many fun things outside â€ïž He even caught some fish one morning!
Just a short 15 minute drive from Mackinac City to hop on a ferry to Mackinac Island.
Maggie was super friendly and helpful any time I reached out! I would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family and would come back again!
